Hi Amber, Your Thrummed mittens are so snuggly looking, love the colors. I was so touched when you were talking about Molle. We also have a little doggie (Shiba Inu), named Kaiya, she turned 15 in October. We know that everyday with her is a blessing from God and we are thankful, she is slowing down and it's hard on our hearts. I love your Felix sweater, again, your colors are so pretty. I totally agree with you about doing things as the spirit moves you. Take care
Hello! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Yes, it is so hard when our dear pets age and we're faced with the reality that they most likely won't be with us much longer.
A lovely show of your more recent knits the thrummed mittens look gorgeous The rust coloured cardigan is gorgeous and the child's cardigan is great. The Crochet scrapgan is a lovely colour which I prefer as I have a classic style. Trust you will get the hat knitted soon
Thank you for your lovely vlogs. I so enjoyed them. I was curious about the One Word so I purchased the book. Thank you Thank you so much. I have my word and it truly surprised me. But I get it.❤
You tickle me so much in this episode. I chuckled every time you started a sentence and then switched lanes mid thought.🤭 Then I thought….wait a sec…I do that too. 😂😂😂
Those are great goals! I guess I actually have another goal - knit with stash! I've been working on that one for over a year so I forgot to mention it. It is so nice to use what you already have!
I’m happy you will continue the podcast whenever you so feel inclined. I too am not a goal setter but have some items floating around that I’d like to either start or co to use to work and create in 2023. One new project is the 100 day project…last year I tried to start without success, and this year I will try again working 15 minuets everyday on a stitch book with with ann wood stitch along. It will start this week Jan 20. I think it will be fun. Happy creating🥳
Yes Amber I know exactly where you’re coming from… I don’t set goals, to me that is pressure I don’t need… but having said that I’ve been wanting to learn to spin for years, I have not one but two wheels…😂 and of course, a much abandoned derelict doll house… perhaps this will be the year of motivation…🤞 love your finishes, your little person cardigan is gorgeous…❤
@@alovelyyarn it’s a bit of a tale…. I’d always wanted to spin but had neither the time nor the finances when my children were young… but one day I spotted my first wheel in an antique store, reasonably priced, so I bought it…. I didn’t know anything about wheels but it was a lovely piece of ‘ furniture’..!!! Many years later I found out it was a hand made wheel, by a local man, out of a rare Tasmanian timber known as Huon pine..( I live in Tasmania, Australia, a small island) the wheel is known as an Eyre wheel, after Cecil Eyre the maker… apparently it spins beautiful lace yarn…. not so good for a beginner spinner, so I then had the opportunity a few years ago to acquire an old Ashford …. hence two wheels, now I finally have time to devote to another new craft, so hopefully this will be the year…(before I am too old..!!!) I’m hoping to do a class in March… but have been looking for a good tutorial on UA-cam… could you recommend any…. Thank you so much for your channel, you and your family are so lovely…and your interests are very similar to mine….❤️ ( if you are interested in the eyre wheel I’m happy to send a photo)…
Beautiful sweater for you and adorable sweater for your friend’s little. Love the mittens. I have some thrum slippers I never finished. Took that on way too early in my crochet journey. 🧶💕🧶
Oh, that little cardigan looks so cute en the colour is perfect! I will become auntie again this month, so I will keep this pattern in mind for future knitting 😊. I did make a 'make 9' board this year because it helps me focus on what I really want to make. Otherwise I will start scrolling forever through pinterest and ravelry and doubt endlessly before I will cast on a new project 🤦. So this board gives me some sort of grip, but if I could also shuffle in an in-between project if I would want to 😁
Haha. I had to laugh about the scrolling. I do that sometimes which is why I really want to try to knit from patterns that I already own before buying new ones. Of course, if there is a pattern that I absolutely adore, I will purchase it, but I want to try to use what I have. Thank you for watching!
Always enjoy your videos ❤️ you mentioned seeing a journal spread of knit goals, I enjoy bullet journaling as a way to have everything in one place, so I keep a spread going to record down finished projects, I do really simple handrawn doodles of the item and then add any details I want, such as who it was made for, yarns used, etc... When it's full I just start a new spread. I find it so enjoyable to look back on as I often have forgotten about things I made and gifted. ☺️ I was thinking this year I might start taking instant poleroid photos of some to tuck in as well. Anyway, I like seeing what I've done rather than what I want to do which constantly changes. 😄
Hi AnnaMae! So I have seen similar bullet journals that you are describing, and I absolutely adore that idea! I am just terrible with executing it! Maybe I should aspire to do that though, because I do really enjoy journaling and it would be so nice to look back, as you said!
I think I will see where my knitting takes me no big goals. Maybe try brioche 🙃. Thank you for keeping me company while I crochet and wait for my daughter to come back from operating theatre 😊
Hi Zena! I pray that all went well with your daughter's procedure! Brioche is fun! I did the Color Craze shawl by Tamy Gore as my first brioche project and it is one of my favorite shawls!
Hey Amber. I always enjoy seeing you on your videos. I look forward to one day seeing you again in person. I also hope to spin regularly this year. I really would like a hand spun garment one day. Sending love to you and your family. Chococatmom
Hi Amber, I really enjoyed seeing all your knits💖🧶 I am working on, actually nearly finished, a cardigan made out of a multi coloured Llama fleece. I started from scratch, sorted, washed, hand cared then spun the Llama fiber. It is so enjoyable to work with, and the smell is just addictive? Have you ever smelt a Llamas smell? Oh my goodness, it is so nice and comforting. I have seen other crafty people smell their sheep wool yarn in a somewhat addictive way, totally understand 😊. I have always loved Llama fiber, more than sheep fiber. My plan for this year is to spin up and use all my Alpaca stash after i have exhausted my Llama stash. Very addicted to that as well.
Wow! So that is a ton of work. I used to have alpacas and so I completely processed some of their fiber, but it was challenging since we have a well and I had to be careful not to run it dry. It takes so much water to clean it well. I have actually never worked with or smelled Llama fiber. I wonder if it's similar to alpaca?
@@alovelyyarn Do you miss having Alpacas? And do you like the end product once all the work of cleaning and spinning is done? It is alot of work , but satisfying. I understand how you have to be careful with water. Llama without the guard hair, as in super fine Llama, is just as soft as a low micron Alpaca fleece.
I'm making the Dalia blanket as well. One of my goals for the last while has been to use my hand spun yarn. I have quite a bit that's chunky from when I was new at spinning so I've been using it for the center circle in the Dalia blanket and I love it so much and want to make more. I also was thinking of rug hooking with my chunky hand spun. Thanks for the podcast, always so fun and informative and relaxing.
Hi Amber, You were talking about the neck of your sweater - I have seen Cori with Iroc Knits Podcast suggest a crochet stitch on the underside of your neck to make it a little closer. I’m not sure if that would help, but thought I would mention. Your sweaters are beautiful! All the best and blessings for your new year! Sheila
I enjoyed seeing your knitted pieces. The sweaters are beautiful. I had never heard of thrummed mittens before watching your videos. Thank you for explaining the process of making them. We have extremely mild winters where I live. I knitted my first sweater in 2022, The Weekender. I wore it on our visit to the US in November/December, and it was very warm- so warm that I probably won’t be able to wear it here at home. I bought a lot of yarn on my ‘yarn crawl’ through NC and SC. I have plans to knit socks, a sweater vest, and a light cardigan, as well as the spa cloths I’m working on now. (At least I have plans for the yarn, which is a good start!) 😅
I hope Molly feels better , I also have a small dog , she’s 10 years old. She’s still one hyper dog 😊 but yes they are our precious little angels. They help us more then we think . Love seeing your Felix sweater , looks amazing. I have cargill sweater to start sometime soon and working on the musselburgh hat right now. My goals settings have change for this year , unfortunately I have health goals to meet this year , knitting will help , I want to knit much more this year. Maybe I should start knitting at doctor waiting room , never done that before. I should give it a try . It seems you got your funk back , I’m glad to see your video again. Thank you so much for sharing , it helps me a great deal. Thank you for your time that it takes to make these videos available to us. God bless you. 😊
I'm a go with the flow kind of person as well, no set rules. The felix looks great, also thought I would mention that the screen wasn't backwards for us to read the ball bands when you showed them.
Thank you for another lovely episode! I also never make kniting plans, it just doesn't work for me. I get easily excited and go with the feeling, so most of my cast-ons are rather spontaneous. 😊 Take care and stay warm! ❤️
Love your sweater it looks beautiful on you….the little sweater is absolutely amazing what a beautiful gift…..your thrummed mittens sew going to be awesome you’re so talented! I live to crochet have lots of fingering yarns you’ve inspired me to do something with them😊 ….fun little gifts you have planned too….I do not set resolutions either I just go with it as well…..thank you for sharing in,I’ve seeing your creations….bless little Molly hard to believe she is 14…. I remember Lily dressing her up too….. hard to see our fur babies age……she looks like a teddy bear……cherish each day……blessings….hugs❤️
I completely understand not taking notes I like to stay in the flow when I’m knitting, I as well create my own knits and if I have to stop and write something down every time I lose the flow
Molly is the sweetest girl. I too have an older dog ,who just turned 13, it is so sad to see them age. Loved your knit projects. Someday I will be brave enough to knit a sweater.
Lovely podcast and great to see you ,Amber!!! Love UR sweater on you,,,, and UR mitts🤗😉look great,,, Like that so k pattern ,,,Now in my ravelry favs,,,,, No sun here forever!!!! ElaineXo
Hi Elaine! Thank you so much! I hope you get some sun soon! It ended up coming out this afternoon and staying all day. But it's the last sunny day for a week. Oh my!
Hello Amber, another lovely video! I'm a bit curious about your knitting books. Maybe it would be a fun idea to show us your knitting library? Happy Knitting from Germany, Leni!
Hello! Oh, that is a great idea! I will see about either incorporating that into a couple of episodes or even doing a separate episode. Thank you for watching and for the suggestion!
Same for me re spinning! I actually have spun a skein of yarn each of the last 3 days to kick off that intention for this year. What fun I had! So I am encouraging you too!
Hi Amber, I’m laughing as I’m watching when you’re talking about goals etc. I’m exactly the same 😂 and definitely as I age I have become more of a free spirit 😂
I love the mittens you are making. Also your finished jumper looks great.I am working on knitting squares for a blanket learning new patterns for them in a book I got for Christmas. Also I am crocheting a battenburg blanket.so making lots of crochet squares for that.I do watercolour painting and colouring too.
I really enjoy your videos Amber. That little cardigan is so cool, love the buttons! And, those mittens wow, they look very warm and such a pretty color. I started planning last year to make my husband, son, daughter, grandbaby and myself a knitted pullover sweater each this year. I've got most of the yarn set aside. I started my grandson's and just have the sleeves to go, loving it. I had to do the smallest first lol. Having kind of a hard time finding good men's sweaters so if you have any ideas I'll take them 😊. Have a wonderful week!
Hi Teresa! What a big endeavor to knit everyone sweaters! That's so wonderful. I actually have never knit a men's sweater. My hubby and oldest son don't wear sweaters but my middle son does, so I'd love to make him one some day. Maybe look at Jared Flood patterns. I also think Max the Knitter has some nice men's sweater patterns.
So happy you will be blogging this winter. I grew up in PA and now live in Arizona. I miss home so much, especially the change of seasons. Love your perspective on creating.
Hi Amber, it was good to see you again. This year I would like to also use patterns I have or free patterns. I also want to use my stash for new projects. I love your sweater and the sweater you made for your friends son. Your mittens look really warm. Have a wonderful blessed week!
Hi Amber. Yeah, no new year resolutions for me, either. I put Christmas things away and then, just start on or continue on what I feel like. I was just thinking today that I want to get back to spinning, I am in the mood for that. I finished one old fleece last year and set the wheel aside but, have another fleece only partially spun. I also pulled out my watercolor paints and palette to inspire me in that area. I also want to get my oils out, it has been much too long since I have painted. Of course, i continually have so many things I want to make in so many mediums, so I keep plugging along. I made a make nine board last year, that was not for me. I lost enthusiasm for a few things in the year and got inspired about other things. Your new mittens look luscious. That toddler sweater is so adorable.
That is exactly why a Make 9 board doesn't appeal to me! I would change my mind! I love that you dabble in so many different artistic endeavors. That's how my daughter and I are as well. It's so much fun, but there never does seem to be enough time to do it all!
Hello Mary! What do you do now with all of your extra time? Lol. That's something that's been on my mind lately... What will I do when my last one graduates????
Last year I continued in only using my stash so now I am currently knitting new yarn. This year I plan to knit projects that I have patterns for or are free. There are several new techniques I’d like to try in colorwork (Norwegian knitted hat or mittens) and maybe thrummed mittens.
I love that, Elise! I have been working through my stash over the last couple of years, but I've still allowed myself to buy some new yarn as well. It's so great when I knit with stash though!
Such beautiful knits! I am the same exact way with my new year knitting plans, I don't feel that picking out a set of patterns is worth it for me. I recognize that the patterns I pick are 100% in the moment or heavily inspired by what my gut is telling me. I don't expect current me to have the same taste as future me 🤣 Plus, if I picked out patterns right now, I would just be sad that I cant knit them all right away.
Wow, I've had thrummed mittens in my queue for over 8 years now, and everything you're saying about why you haven't knit them until now I can relate to exactly! I think your motivation is transferring over here... I need to cast them on now! 😊
Molly was the name of our puppy too! She too was a sweetie. Feel better Molly as you are soooo loved! Love your Thrum mittens. They too have been on my ‘to do’ list for YEARS. Happy knitting🧶
Cozy and enjoyable as always, Amber. I am knitting my first half fingered gloves as you knit your thrummed mittens. But mine will be for indoor use this winter! Peace and Blessings to you and your family!🌻🧶☕️
I’m hoping to finish up projects that have been on my needles for too long. So they either get done or frogged. No more Ms Nice Guy - lol. Also hoping to start reading some of the classics I’ve always heard about, but have never actually read.
@@alovelyyarn I’m starting with The Old Curiosity shop by Dickens, followed by The Legend of Sleepy hollow by Irving. I love the story, but realized I’d never actually read it. Are there any you recommend?
@CamSnow My favorite classic is Jane Eyre. I just recently got one of my friends to read it and she was so bored and didn't finish it! Lol. But my daughter and I absolutely loved it. I also like Jane Austen novels and enjoyed Middlemarch as well but that's a REALLY long one!
@@camsnow2856 Also, I wanted to add that I've not heard of The Curiosity Shop! It's a very intriguing title though. I'm surprised I've never heard of it. Is it one of his lesser known works?
The mittens are beautiful and they look soooooo cozy. My goal for this year is to learn to love and appreciate everyone’s WIPS but no casting on for me until I finish my current WIPS! This has been important for me this year because so many people have MKALs and beautiful cast ons and FOMO always gets me. 🤦🏻♀️🙈🙈🙈😂
@@alovelyyarn yes, it’s stressing me out as well. As a new knitter I found myself wanting to try everything but now after a year I have discovered it’s not fun and causes too much anxiety. 😣 😂 lesson learned 😉
I always enjoy your podcast. I too am not one to make resolutions or make nine board. I like to have flexibility in what I want to create next. I do have a few patterns put together with chosen yarn on a shelf to keep me inspired. It's nice because they are in front of me when I hit my stash! Happy Winter!
Happy to see a new podcast. I just finished watching Farm house 9n Boone and it reminds me of some of yours. She made sour dough bread putting in one raisin and the other one Rose Merry. Enjoy your podcast and looking forward to watching this one later tonight
Love the thrummed mittens! I'm so glad you are planning on more winter vlogs. I am not a "make 9" type planner but I did feel inspired to add a journal page in with my (more like) "make 12" because there are some projects I would really like to knit this year and wanted to keep them in the forefront of my brain...even if I don't end up getting to them bc I am more of a "do what I feel like" type!
I like the idea of journaling my creative endeavors! I've had multiple viewers mention that they do that. I think I'd rather journal after I finish a project, just to keep track of it and such. However, if I know myself well enough (which I do) I probably won't take the time to do that! But it seems like it would be a wonderful idea!
I enjoyed hearing what you're up to again Amber. The little cardigan for your friend's son is adorable. I might make one for my grandson! I love the leather buttons but are they washable? I only ask because I made a tote bag once and it had a small piece of leather on it and when I washed it, the stain on the leather ran onto the fabric. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it out once it ran. Just a thought... Take care and thanks for putting the time in to share!
I do not set goals, do resolutions, etc., at New Year's. I do have goals and plans, though. I am about to cast on a Murder of Crows sweater by Dawn Barker. The yarn was a Christmas gift. I also want to make a Florida Duster (cardigan) by Julie Farmer as I have the yarn for it. I have yarn and patterns for several products and I really want to get them all knit before I purchase more yarn. And socks. I always have socks on my needles. Enjoy your podcasts. I have just recently found you.
Hello Bea! Knitting from the yarn I have has been a goal of mine for the last couple of years. It feels so good to use what I've already purchased! I haven't heard of either of the patterns you mentioned! I'll have to look them up!
Love all of your projects.. my plans 😳😳😳 is to make my first sweater, shall see how that goes. Finish up a few wips that have been lingering way to long. I always have big dream knitting but I’m such a slow knitter. Enjoy all of your podcasts, see you next time.😊
Hi Amber. I love your Felix sweater. That yarn color is so pretty and your ribbing is so neat. Red is one of my favorite colors to wear. I still have one sleeve to go on my Felix cardigan. My one by one rib always looks so messy so I ended up doing a twisted rib on the cardigan. I would love to make the pullover next time. The thrummed mittens looks so nice and warm. Have a good week. Hoping for lots of sunshine to melt some of this ice here in Nebraska.
Love your thrummed mittens! I’m doing the Cozy Up MKAL, Cocktail Hour at the Coop’s New To You MAL ( doing socks two at a time) I have some charity makes going and a couple cross stitches going. 💕🧶
I love that Whiskey Barrel color! No Make 9 board for me this year. My goal is to make my way through all my wips. I finished the Nightstorm shawl by Heidi May last night, I cast it on in June last year! Currently working on the Carlina Pullover that I cast on back in October. I also have a bunch of wips that I'm thinking of frogging and repurposing the yarn for different projects, I find that really fun actually in a strange way 😆
Love that shawl collar cardigan ❤I’m going to make for my granddaughter that just turned 3. Thanks for sharing and just want to let you know I really enjoy your channel!!
I can’t be bothered to set big knitting goals, something new always comes along. Last week my newly rescued and very traumatized golden retriever needed a hand knit sweater to help with her anxiety, so I went to my stash and knit her one. I’ve recently jumped back into cross stitch and love it so much. Thanks for the link to the mittens, I’ve got lots of roving since I don’t think I’ve used my spinning wheel for 10 years, another goal. Question, can you hold a dog leash with those mittens on, they look so cozy but very thick.
Hi Holly! I'm not sure about the thrummed mittens and a dog leash. I honestly didn't think about that, but I guess I should have! LOL. I guess I'll find out!
Hi Amber! I enjoyed your podcast! We too are enjoying a rare bit of sunshine today!🌞 I don’t set any hard and fast goals for my knitting. I keep a notebook of things that currently inspire me and try to choose from there. I did finish my first sweater in December so I am excited to start another. I am currently finishing up dog walking attire- a hat and double knit headband. Also decided to use all my scraps on the Anthology Throw. It has been a fun knit so far. I love that she has the % completed throughout-gives that extra incentive.😀. Molly is adorable! We are dog people so I love to see yours! Do you ever find you are knitting a little dog hair into things? 😂 No matter what I do I seem to have that. Both of mine squeeze into my knitting chair with me. Have a wonderful day!
Congrats on your first completed sweater! That's so awesome! I just recently learned of the Anthology Throw while watching Finnish Knitting Stories vlogmas episodes. I've never knit a circular afghan! And, yes, I'm constantly knitting dog hair (and my own hair!) into my knitting projects! Lol.
Hi Amber, I really enjoy your podcast and vlogs. I have not a make 9 for this year but I'm making my own design dress for myself and working on a few shawl and socks designs right now😅. Many hugs from a Swedish podcaster ❤
@@alovelyyarn yes, it will be a knitted dress 😊 My husband and I are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary this summer so I wanted to do something special💞
Another lovely episode, Amber 😊 my "goal" is to just keep knitting, for myself, (and family) because I hope it will keep me centered with the new phase coming up 😅
Enjoyed this very much but you do know that Molly is the real star of the show don’t you ?! I think your crochet blanket will be amazing when all put together. Perhaps if you have any of the round centres left over you could simply join those together as they are without doing the cream square “border” and so it would look a bit like a yo-yo quilt, just a thought. 🙂
Hi Amber, I’m working on a Birkin sweater. What ever happened to yours? Will you give it another try. This is my second one and I have had to modify the sizing as I go but given it is top down I’ve been able to do so. I love the pattern so much that I feel like it’s worth the extra effort. Love your podcast! Wishing you lots of sunny days! Sue
Hi Sue! I actually forgot about the Birkin! I guess I have two unfinished sweaters on needles! I put that one aside until I decided what I wanted to do. I think I will probably go back and frog it and then modify it because I do love the yoke colorwork.
I'm the same. Go with the flow with my knitting. Your sweaters look wonderful. Is the blanket going to be queen size? I look forward to seeing your spinning.
Lovely Felix, Amber! I have been on the fence about making this because I actually prefer seamed garments, but it appears so wearable and quick, like the Ranunculus. Side off-topic question...looking for advice on a coffee/espresso machine that works well and lasts. You have experience with good machines and good coffee, so...your opinion? If you have a podcasting email, I would be happy to chat over that vs. here..?}
Hi Monica! I love both of my Felix pullovers! And they're such a quick knit! I always recommend Breville for at home use. We've had a great experience with ours and customer service has also been great!
That's a good question that I actually get asked quite often. However, I have no idea because I never keep track because I usually knit in little sessions here and there.

@@alovelyyarn thank you 🙏. I will check brioche pattern too 😊
No resolutions here either. Love Molly. I have a wire hair dachshund that was just 15.
Awww. It is so difficult to see our loved pets age. They feel irreplaceable.
What a beautiful baby cardigan! Every year I made my grandchildren sweaters .wish I had seen that one..soooooxute! Enjoying all your clogs too!
Thank you so much, Kathie! Isn't that pattern so adorable? I can't wait to give it to my friend.
Hey Amber. I always enjoy seeing you on your videos. I look forward to one day seeing you again in person. I also hope to spin regularly this year. I really would like a hand spun garment one day. Sending love to you and your family. Chococatmom
Hello Cheryl! I hope you and your family have been well! Thank you so much!
Great!
Thank you!
Hi Amber, I really enjoyed seeing all your knits💖🧶
I am working on, actually nearly finished, a cardigan made out of a multi coloured Llama fleece.
Love watching you. I need to make more thrummed mitts.
Thank you, Tabatha!
love your Felix!!
Those are great ideas, Michelle! What a special blanket that will be too, with all of that handspun in it!
Sheila
Thank you so much for that suggestion, Sheila! I've not heard of that!
My word this year is diligence. I find that I am not always diligent in seeking those things that I should be. The sweaters are beautiful.
Great word, Judy! And thank you so much!
The moss stitch pockets and the shawl collar on the child's sweater are EVERYTHING. So cute.
I know! It's such an adorable pattern!
That's great, Bess! Where do you live that you have mild winters?
@@alovelyyarn We live in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Oh you should definitely knit in the doctor's waiting room! I always do!
I'm a go with the flow kind of person as well, no set rules. The felix looks great, also thought I would mention that the screen wasn't backwards for us to read the ball bands when you showed them.
Yep! Just create what you feel inspired to create!
Thank you for another lovely episode! I also never make kniting plans, it just doesn't work for me. I get easily excited and go with the feeling, so most of my cast-ons are rather spontaneous. 😊 Take care and stay warm! ❤️
Hello Jana! I am the same! I like to go with the flow of my inspiration with all of my creating. Don't box me in! Thank you so much for watching!
Hi friend! Thank you so much! What are you going to make with your fingering weight yarns? Any plans yet?
Thank you for the time you give in creating your podcast.Amber. Oh my the Elevensnes cardigan is so adorable! ❤️
Thank you so much, Susie! ❤️
I completely understand not taking notes I like to stay in the flow when I’m knitting, I as well create my own knits and if I have to stop and write something down every time I lose the flow
Yes! That's completely how I feel! Let's stay in the creative flow!
I have to find the thrummed mittens WIP started a few years ago. Thanks for the inspiration.
You can do it, Kym! I love mine. Finished them today and tried them out in 24 degree weather tonight and they work marvelously!
Molly is the sweetest girl. I too have an older dog ,who just turned 13, it is so sad to see them age.
Loved your knit projects. Someday I will be brave enough to knit a sweater.
Hello Sabrina! You can do it!
Lovely podcast and great to see you ,Amber!!!
Love UR sweater on you,,,,

No sun here forever!!!!

Hi Elaine! Thank you so much! I hope you get some sun soon! It ended up coming out this afternoon and staying all day. But it's the last sunny day for a week. Oh my!
I can't recall exactly, but I think the same number of stitches is used to cast on for every size of the Felix. I
Hello Amber, another lovely video!
@@alovelyyarn Looking foreward to your next videos =D
Same for me re spinning! I actually have spun a skein of yarn each of the last 3 days to kick off that intention for this year. What fun I had! So I am encouraging you too!
That is fantastic! Thank you for that inspiration!
Hi Amber, I’m laughing as I’m watching when you’re talking about goals etc. I’m exactly the same 😂 and definitely as I age I have become more of a free spirit 😂
Yep, it has happened to me! It's a mixture of being more of a free spirit and also a sense of reality! I know myself better. Lol.
@@alovelyyarn totally, if I don’t set goals I don’t let myself down. Also, I feel like if I write down a goal, in my mind it’s already done 🤣
I love the mittens you are making. Also your finished jumper looks great.I am working on knitting squares for a blanket learning new patterns for them in a book I got for Christmas. Also I am crocheting a battenburg blanket.so making lots of crochet squares for that.I do watercolour painting and colouring too.
Hi Marilyn! I started a Battenburg last year. Made ten of the little squares and then quit! Lol. That's definitely a long-term project!
@@alovelyyarn thanks Amber I'll check them out
So happy you will be blogging this winter. I grew up in PA and now live in Arizona. I miss home so much, especially the change of seasons. Love your perspective on creating.
Hi Sheri! As much as I don't enjoy the gloomy PA winters, I don't think I would enjoy Arizona or that kind of climate. I do enjoy the season changes!
Hi Amber, it was good to see you again. This year I would like to also use patterns I have or free patterns. I also want to use my stash for new projects. I love your sweater and the sweater you made for your friends son. Your mittens look really warm.
Have a wonderful blessed week!
Hi Jean! Yes to stash knitting! This is something I've been working on for the last couple of years. Thank you so much for watching!
@@alovelyyarn That is so true, never enough time.
Hello from a fellow homeschool mom in PA. ALL of mine have been finished for 10 years now.
Yes, I look at it in a similar way as you. I like to just go with the creative flow in all aspects of my creative life!
Wow, I've had thrummed mittens in my queue for over 8 years now, and everything you're saying about why you haven't knit them until now I can relate to exactly! I think your motivation is transferring over here... I need to cast them on now! 😊
Yes! Go for it!
I want to make a second adult sweater and probably some socks.
That's an awesome goal! Do you have any ideas on which sweater you'd like to knit?
Molly was the name of our puppy too! She too was a sweetie. Feel better Molly as you are soooo loved! Love your Thrum mittens. They too have been on my ‘to do’ list for YEARS. Happy knitting🧶
Thank you, Annette!
nice job i like the shorter podcast
k
Thank you, Sharon!
Cozy and enjoyable as always, Amber. I am knitting my first half fingered gloves as you knit your thrummed mittens. But mine will be for indoor use this winter! Peace and Blessings to you and your family!🌻🧶☕️
Hello! Half fingered gloves will be very useful! I made a pair for both my husband and my son several years back and they love them.
I’m hoping to finish up projects that have been on my needles for too long. So they either get done or frogged. No more Ms Nice Guy - lol. Also hoping to start reading some of the classics I’ve always heard about, but have never actually read.
Great goal! And yes, yes, yes to the classics! I love reading, and I especially love the classics! Any in particular?
Haha. I get stressed out if I have more than two WIPS on my needles!
@@alovelyyarn yes, it’s stressing me out as well. As a new knitter I found myself wanting to try everything but now after a year I have discovered it’s not fun and causes too much anxiety. 😣 😂 lesson learned 😉
@@Susi1406 Hahaha! Now you know!
I agree! And I have some yarn dedicated to specific projects too! Thanks for watching!
Love your podcast and yes, miracles are incredible aren’t they?❤❤❤
Thanks again!
Happy to see a new podcast. I just finished watching Farm house 9n Boone and it reminds me of some of yours. She made sour dough bread putting in one raisin and the other one Rose Merry. Enjoy your podcast and looking forward to watching this one later tonight
Oh raisins in the sourdough would be soooo yummy!
Oh, I never thought of that. I hope they don't bleed onto the sweater. I guess we'll find out! Thank you so much, Catherine!
Enjoy all of your podcasts, see you next time.😊
Hi Sue! How exciting! Do you know yet which sweater you're going to knit?
Hi Barbara! I currently don't have any red in my wardrobe, so I'm excited to be adding this sweater to my closet! I hope you get lots of sun soon!
Love your thrummed mittens!
I’m doing the Cozy Up MKAL, Cocktail Hour at the Coop’s New To You MAL ( doing socks two at a time) I have some charity makes going and a couple cross stitches going. 💕🧶
Wow, Mary Anne! You are on a crafting roll!
I love that Whiskey Barrel color!
No Make 9 board for me this year. My goal is to make my way through all my wips. I finished the Nightstorm shawl by Heidi May last night, I cast it on in June last year! Currently working on the Carlina Pullover that I cast on back in October. I also have a bunch of wips that I'm thinking of frogging and repurposing the yarn for different projects, I find that really fun actually in a strange way 😆
I need to do a frogging session because after filming I realized that I actually have multiple projects that need pulled out! Oops!
Love that shawl collar cardigan ❤I’m going to make for my granddaughter that just turned 3. Thanks for sharing and just want to let you know I really enjoy your channel!!
It is an adorable sweater for sure! I can't wait to give it to my friend! Thank you so much for watching and for yourencouragement, Catherine!
❤❤❤
Wow! You're designing your own dress? Is this a sewn dress or a knitted one?
@@alovelyyarn yes, it will be a knitted dress 😊 My husband and I are celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary this summer so I wanted to do something special💞
Another lovely episode, Amber 😊 my "goal" is to just keep knitting, for myself, (and family) because I hope it will keep me centered with the new phase coming up 😅
Thank you so much! Yes, having a baby is a big adjustment, for sure! But a wonderful one. ❤️
if you want to bring the neck of your sweater in just crochet around the edge💞
Great idea! Thank you so much, Jennifer!
Haha. Molly is a cutie!
Hi Amber,
I’m working on a Birkin sweater.
I have no idea what size I'm going to make it! Lol. I'm going to start piecing it together and go from there!
Lovely Felix, Amber! I have been on the fence about making this because I actually prefer seamed garments, but it appears so wearable and quick, like the Ranunculus.
Side off-topic question...looking for advice on a coffee/espresso machine that works well and lasts. You have experience with good machines and good coffee, so...your opinion? If you have a podcasting email, I would be happy to chat over that vs. here..?}
Hi Monica! I love both of my Felix pullovers! And they're such a quick knit!
I always recommend Breville for at home use. We've had a great experience with ours and customer service has also been great!
@@alovelyyarn Oh wonderful! Have been researching the Breville. I just wanted comfirmation, so thanks!
How long does it take you to make a pair of socks.
That's a good question that I actually get asked quite often. However, I have no idea because I never keep track because I usually knit in little sessions here and there.
What type/breed of dog is Molly
She is a Shorkie. Shih tzu and Yorkie mix.
Very very cute….we had a Maltese/yorkie mix that was darling. I miss her everyday.
What the heck is a tubular bind off?
Haha. It is similar to a sewn bind off. It makes a really neat edge that kind of waterfalls over the edge. Google it!
I forgot to say I hope Molly feels better soon. It's so hard to see our pets age.
Thank you! It sure is!
A lovely show of your more recent knits the thrummed mittens look gorgeous
The rust coloured cardigan is gorgeous and the child's cardigan is great. The Crochet scrapgan is a lovely colour which I prefer as I have a classic style. Trust you will get the hat knitted soon
Hello Rosemary! Thank you so much! Yes, casting that hat on today!
