I didn’t know they remastered these. The original ones are always the best. This was when I was in high school. I have several favorite Megadeth songs. I recommend GO TO HELL. And Thousand Times Goodbye (live). That’s just a couple of overlooked songs that don’t get much play but both are great. Also the entire SO FAR SO GOOD. SO WHAT album IF you can find the original not the remastered version of it.
Highly recommend you to listen originals of the songs, not remasters, at least first 4 megadeth albums. They sound absolutely different and the feelings you get are indescribable. What about Peace Sells album - it's legendary, and you probably need to listen all the records on it
The 2004 remasters for the first 3 albums are definitely alright. The rest of the catalogue going up to 1999's Risk didn't need to be remastered in my opinion. And Lilly has tried to look for the original versions, but the results that she gets are the remastered versions when she does a search.
As a 80's teenager. 80's and 90's Metal is untouchable. Listen to it all Lilly. I grew up in it and when 80's Metal bands pass away. Real Metal will go with them.

This song just started playing in my car back in 1987 and about a minute later a car coming at me with a drunk driver at the wheel crossed the center line and we hit head on at 55 mph and everyone in that car died and I walked away from it without a scratch. This song will always be one of my favorites

This might sound weird, but this is my favorite Megadeth song. My favorite Megadeth song is sweating bullets. It seems more basic, but I’m a theater major and I sing metal all the time as well and with that song is so fun to sing because I get to act it out! Another one of my favorites is in my Darkest Hour and tornado of souls!
Do you get into Bruce Dickinson much at all as he also studied theater and then moved on to becoming a metal vocalist. You can fully notice the theatrical storytelling in his delivery with Iron Maiden. He also sometimes changes into costume for a particular themed song. Some people think he was, or is a fully trained opera singer but this is incorrect. It's his theater background that mosty influences his singing style. Keep it up Reece and good on you mate. 👍🤘
My favorite Megadeth release has to be Youthanasia. Not only their most technically proficient release, but also some of the best song in their catalogue. Family Tree, Elysian Fields, Train Of Consequences, Reckoning Day, just an all around great album, check it out!
Seen Megadeth circa 1990 in Los Angeles. The fans went absolutely insane. The whole venue was a giant mosh pit. Metallica at monsters of rock 1988 was also absolute mayhem. Good times. I have been a metal fan since early 80s and seen many of the best in their prime.

The one thing I will say in favor of this mix is the "You die" and "(Dead) and buried" (towards the end) comes through much clearer than the original mix.

Polands only solo here is 2:17 - 2:25 and the rest is dave , he does none of the solos in the conjuring , that's dave and has the first 12 second solo on bad omen and Dave has the 2nd and 3rd . Sounds like Mustaine is actually your fav megadeth guitarist .

Megadeth's technicality and dual-lead guitar attack was what separated them from Metallica... When Dave Mustaine started the band, he wanted to "out-do" Metallica, and (late) drummer Gar Samuelson was a double-bass, jazz fusion monster on the kit (Sadly, he had a bad heroin addiction, so he was fired after 2 albums - he passed away in 1999) ...After the 1st album "Killing is my business..." (1985), Megadeth was signed to Capitol Records, a major label, and got a bigger budget for "Peace sells, but who's buyin'?" (1986) ... so it sounded better and the songs were just oustanding 🤘🤘🔥🔥But they could not outsell Metallica's 3rd album 'Master of Puppets' that same year. Hard to pick a fave Megadeth song... "Holy wars/ The Punishment due" is one of my faves... the first song I heard by them was their Alice Cooper cover 'No more Mr. Nice Guy' from 1989... 'Train of consequences' from 1994 has one of my fave riffs by them.

Loving that you are taking this Metallica and Megadeth journey. Like I did in the '80s when it was new. Not to derail this path but if you're looking for something newer from metal that is quite unique and totally mind blowing check out Jinjer. Pisces (live Session) is the usual starter video and a solid place to start with them. These are my top 3 bands personally.
Peace Sells and Rust In Peace are amongst the greatest Metal albums ever...they are certainly both in the top 5 Thrash albums ever (both could vie for #1 - I'd personally pick Peace Sells, it's the epitome of a metal album) - I love seeing people discover this stuff, it never gets old! I'd go for The Conjuring next, slight change of pace, totally awesome!
This is a really progressive track for the '86 album, and some of my favorite soloing of all time from Megadeth. Compared to too much other speedmetal, these solos make you Feel something; it's true art, in musical form. You can't help but *move* with this one, right? Try out "High Speed Dirt" next. 🤘

Dave Mustaine went back and remastered the back catalogue back in 2004.

My favorite song by Megadeth is, by far, Hook in Mouth. A song raging against censorship and Big Government. Ironically still relevant, maybe more so

This is a really progressive track for the '86 album, and some of my favorite soloing of all time from Megadeth. Compared to too much other speedmetal, these solos make you Feel something; it's true art, in musical form. You can't help but *move* with this one, right? Try out "High Speed Dirt" next. 🤘
