Hello friends! Thank you very much for the support we receive in each video! We hope you enjoy this new video. Are you team Megadeth or Metallica? Or do you think the best thing is to save arguments and enjoy both? We read you 🤘 😊
You are opening a can of worms asking that question. There are die hard fans in both camps who despise the other. I listen to both bands, but I prefer Megadeth. Their songs were more complex. Nothing wrong with Metallica's style, I just don't find it as appealing. Later, Megadeth music became more mainstream Metal, less Thrash. Metallica started this trend in 1991 with the Black album. Megadeth, when compared to Metallica, has more interesting riffs and solos. Time for the Metallica fan boys to respond.... 🤘🤘🤘
I really don't see the connection between the 2 bands. Dave Mustaine was only with Metallica for 11 months over 40+ years ago. He isn't on any of Metallica's albums because he was kicked out before their debut album in 1983. I don't understand why ppl think Dave was some huge significant part of Metallica because he wasn't. He's a great guitarist who went on to form his own band. But Dave is still so bitter about being kicked out, which is why the whole "Metallica or Megadeth" debate lives on today. These are the only 2 bands where ppl feel some need to have to choose who's better. They're both great for different reasons. I love Metallica and I like Megadeth but I don't compare the two. So that's my 2 cents 🤣Great reaction as always! 🤘🤘🤘
@@stephanieclark9849 James and Lars with guitarist Lloyd Grant recorded ‘Hit the Lights’ for a compilation album. But it wasn’t until after Dave joined the band Metallica began to write more songs. In 1982, they recorded their first two demo albums. It was their second demo, “No Life ‘Til Leather”, which is why Metallica got its first record, “Kill ’Em All” originally named “Metal Up Your Ass”. Dave wrote 2 songs used on the “Kill ‘Em All” album, ‘Jump in the Fire’ and ‘The Four Horsemen’, both which James rewrote the lyrics. Dave also wrote parts for at least 4 other songs off Metallica’s first 2 albums. After James and Lars fired Dave, Kirk was hired as the new lead guitarist just before “Kill ‘Em All” was recorded. If you listen to “No Life ‘Til Leather” and compare the solos to “Kill ‘Em All”, you will hear similarities between Dave’s and Kirk’s solos. Kirk kept some parts of Dave’s solos as well as creating his own touches. So yes, Dave was only in the band for a year. But without his early input, would Metallica have gotten that early record deal leading them to be the front runners of early Thrash metal? Slayer released their first album 5 months after Metallica. They could have become the “Godfather’s” of Thrash.
@@metaltildeth6783 Dave was credited for what his wrote on Kill Em' All and the 1-2 off Ride the Lightning. However, Metallica didn't really blow up until 'Master of Puppets' which Dave had no part in. Then again with 'And Justice For All' which Dave also no part in. It's just annoying when hardcore Dave fans act like Metallica never would have existed or made it without Dave. Of course they would have. I mean, Dave wrote some cool riffs but I would hardly say it was those riffs alone on a few songs that made Metallica. I also just think it's sad that anytime Megadeth made and makes music, it's always compared to Metallica. When Metallica makes music, nobody compares it to Megadeth. It makes Dave look like he forever lives in Metallica's shadow when the focus should be on what he created and has accomplished with Megadeth. He should be respected for that instead of always compared to Metallica.
When I heard Metallica's "Fight Fire With Fire" for the first time on BFBS in 1984, it was like a musical revelation to me, as was the entire album "Ride the Lightning", which is still one of my favourite albums and which I like better than any of Megadeth's first four albums. In both cases, I stopped buying their albums after the fourth one. Over the last decades, I haven't listened to neither of them very often anymore, also because there are lots of other Thrash Metal albums by lesser known bands I simply enjoy more (e.g. the debuts by Détente, Testament, Forbidden, Hexenhaus, Anacrusis and Sieges Even, to name but a few). However, while I still might listen to any of Megadeth's first four albums, "Ride the Lightning" is Metallica's only album I still listen to nowadays. It's not that I dislike their debut or MOP (wasn't too happy with AJFA already back then, though), but I simply don't feel like listening to them anymore. BTW, even though they are not predominantly a Thrash Metal band, my overall favourite Thrash Metal songs released after the eighties are "Break the Wall", "The Hammer of Wrath" and "Set the World on Fire" by Lovebites from Japan, who IMO feature the currently best guitar duo in metal. If you love guitar solos, you should love what they do. I recommend the live-versions from 2020 of the first two songs ("The Hammer of Wrath" being preceded by the intro "The Awakening") and the live-version from 2021 of "Set the World on Fire" (it's the only live version so far).
Megadeth is my favorite bands down, they have so many great songs, diadems, 99 ways to die, rust in piece, and so on, Dave and Marty were the best together!!
Arguably the best guitar solo ever in a metal song by Marty Friedman. This song is on the again arguably best Thrash Album of all time Rust in Peace. I grew up a Mettalica fan but after And Justice for All they went from a Thrash Metal band to a pop metal band. I also hated Dave Mustaine like all Mettalica fans do, but I had no idea why I actually hated Dave and Megadeth I just did. If any of our friends caught us hearing Megadeth they would talk shit and Make fun of you. Then one day I was at a house party and there was metal music playing and I asked my friend who was that playing and he said that’s 5 Magiks by Megadeth. I told him this was the first time I had actually listened to a Megadeth song and he said well let me start the album over for you and the album was Rust in Peace. My mind was. Lien and been a Megadeth fan ever since.
Great video. Megadeth is one of my favourites bands, I'll like so much a reaction of Wake up dead, from the peace sells album. Keep making great stuff 😄
I'm partial to Testament and Exodus. Exodus is more in your face and hardcore sounding in many of their songs. Testament is way more technical in the solos thanks to absolutely fantastic work from Alex Skolnick. Both bands came afterwards and don't have the same recognition. I will say that Dave Mustane's ability to put together riffs is legendary and probably the best in the business. The current lead guitarist in Megadeth Kiko Lourerio is IMO on par with Skolnick and can be heard on their 2 most recent albums.
Maybe it's time to meet 5 beautiful ladies in high heels and dresses playing classic heavy metal? For starters, I recommend the song Break the Wall from their earlier albums. Boasting over 70 hit singles, they won Best New Metal Band at the Metal Hammer Awards in 2018. The girls play heavy, thrash, power and prog metal, they also have some beautiful ballads - ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html

Between them Metallica and Megadeth INVENTED Thrash. Dave was originally the second guitarist in 'Tallica but they fell out and he formed Megadeth. There is the Big 4 of thrash metal, Metallica Megadeth Anthrax and Slayer. Each have a different approach and a different style, Megadeth were more technical than Metallica who were the most accessible of the Big 4. Slayer are by FAR the heaviest and the inspiration for the later Black and Death Metal genres and Anthrax were the East Coast version of Thrash with more of a mixing pot of styles thrown in which us why they are my personal favourite of the Big 4.
Metallica can't hold a candle to megadeth. Megadeth is far superior in technical ability complex arrangements and musicianship....... although super successful Metallica is a very simplistic band of musicians especially the drummer
Please don’t let this song stop you from reacting to Megadeth specially this album . It gets better a lot better than this trust me. Maybe worst song on the record so if you at least liked it a little you’ll have a better time with other songs
@@Sugar_K so is the rest of the album this song is very overrated you can see it in their expressions they trying to like it but is meh . Song should end with the solo and it might be tolerable . Once you get past the solo it’s skippable.
