Oh I love this project Gemma. It’s going to look brilliant next year. Can’t wait to see it You’ve worked so hard already. I love that stone bird feeder. It’s amazing.
Hey Claire ☺️ it's so nice to be doing things in the garden as it's been a bit neglected the last few years 😀 The Stone Feeder is one of my favourite free finds! I'm always on Gumtree having a look!
You could have beds each side of a seating area with maybe a big arch from one bed to the other too so you can still see the roses when you look through it 🌺 so many things you could do
Love that freebie stone garden ornament. I would definitely keep that as a feature. Your ideas sound great and I can't wait to watch the transformation.
Exciting plans in your home garden Gemma ❤ Your Verbena looks pretty and love Geum. Some nice flowering plants there you're moving. I'm all excited for you and really looking forward to seeing how it all progresses. Have a fabulous week ❤
Ooh this is going to be a lovely transformation. Personally, I’d pop a bed either side and have a seating area in the middle - you can then be surrounded by lovely veggies, herbs and flowers 😊
Looks like a great growing area. For lettuces you might think of having them in a bed that get slightly less sun, to avoid bolting, if that helps you decide the setup. Might not matter much in autumn/spring, but I hope you get a sunny summer next year.
I have done the same with an area of my garden. I have no seating area though. I have got my salads, beans and a fruit cage. Well, anything that needs picking frequently and that i use on a daily basis. If that was my area , I would arrange 3 deep beds in a 'U' shape, one down each side and one at the front and immerse myself in the scents of herbs and salads- easy picking too! Happy gardening 🙂
Hello Gemma, Just watched your latest vlog in your home garden. I would see where the most sun is then put your beds down, and then place your table and chairs around them. Nice to see a little Robin in the garden, they are a sign of someone who has past who has come to say hello.❤
@@GemInTheGarden Hello Gemma, I was expecting to see the bad weather that forecast for today, but nothing which is good. I saw a Robin at my allotment the other day which was nice.🙂 I am just watching your latest video about your cider I do like a good Cider. I had a quiet wkend thank you, hope yours wasn’t too busy😊
@Plot9.2 we have had really hot weather today it came from nowhere which was a great suprise! We made use of the apples so I'm so pleased 😀 I am looking forward to tasting the cider 😋 it's been a nice weekend Thank You im glad you had a good one too 😊
Hiya Gemma, oh I leave the advice for others here on this channel I just don’t know? Lol , the bird feeder is fabulous and free! Look forward to updates. Blessings luv southern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
That little apple tree is *LOADED*. We have too many squirrels in our backyard, I think I will have to _deal_ with them if I expect to get a nice crop of apples & pears in the coming years. I couldn't help but notice you have an impressive stockpile of soil amendments on hand in your greenhouse. Here in the states we used to be able to buy them cheap at the end of each growing season. Now it's gotten so hard to find potting mix, fertilizers, compost, coco coir, perlite, vermiculite, etc. marked down.
Yes, our Apple Trees did so well this year! Yes I do use soil ammendments as I have really heavy clay but like you say, they are rarely in the sale now and expensive so I try and stock up while I can 👍👍
I would have one bed either side - you must get more shade one side or the other? So you could put your lettuces etc in the shady side and your sun loving herbs in the sunniest side? Good luck! Exciting! X

@@GemInTheGarden you too x
I feel your pain with the clay! Raised beds were my only solution (and chickens!) I'm looking forward to seeing the finished area.
I have tried various things but I think this is the best solution, it's great to hear it worked for you 😀 I would love chickens, it's on my list!

Of all the messages I get from you.. you fail to tell me this 😂 it's looking so good already gem! I can't wait to see this in spring ❤ Danny 🌱
I was probably too busy talking about foxes!!! 😅 yes im excited Danny 😊 I'm thinking a Tulip bed and a Dafodil bed 🌱🌱
Raised bed each side and table in the middle would be good.
Yes I think that would be nice as I like things symmetrical 👍
