True, I assisted my uncle once to shovel, gosh, less than 5 minutes and my back was super sore and He could shovel for hours. He must have a super strong back.
I know it’s not as easy as it looks, but come on if you’re gonna do a job though it’s free and you want a lot of subscribers you should finish the job I mean look at midlife Stockman. He should go see his mowing videos and then he’ll know what I’m talking about. I like Spencer and I love his videos half done and disappointing sometimes just saying.
You also need to be really careful of unknown critters that could be hiding in this tall stuff. I'm sure Spencer is aware, it's just scary sometimes. My next door neighbor was cleaning up her yard one time, bent over to move some overgrown plant and there was a copperhead snake which bit her on the forearm. Was in the hospital for several days.
I was at my neighbors house and they were watching this video. This guys two sons, 15 and 16 said they'd love to do this for a living. The dad spoke up and said "How are you going to do that when I have to yell at you two to go out and cut OUR grass. It takes 20 minutes". Wow, silence fell to the room. I've watched SB since he had like 10,000 subscribers. Now at 2.22 million, he's earned every single one of them. People love his work ethic and the before and after photos. It is so satisfying to lay here and watch as we feel we accomplished something........... so funny.

Thank you for what you do! It's amazing to me how neighbors don't help take care of these places. I'm a 67 yr. old woman who cits my grass with a push mower. In my old neighborhood, I cut next door for many Mos. when it was vacant. Just don't understand people's unwillingness to chip in. Peace and Blessings!

Spencer, why don't you get a grass catcher basket thing? Properties would look so much better if you picked up the grass. This one was extremely tall but it would have been better with the grass picked up. You're still not protecting your lungs! You only get the one chance to save them. There is dirt, dust, dried poop from dogs, rodents maybe poisons that someone has sprayed or treatments in micro particles in the air when your working. We just buried a female classmate of mine this summer who died from mesothelioma! Not sure why you don’t care what you’re exposed to. I understand you have a super sensitive reaction to poison ivy, but you ought to be just as concerned about your lungs!
In defense of not wearing a mask, though it would be healthier, wearing glasses means they'd fog up. And nobody can make somebody else do anything. Some worry too much because they usually don't take the time to be careful, and some don't worry because they're generally careful.
@@thriftedbygrace910 My husband uses a bagger for leaves & I agree stopping to empty is obnoxious especially because you have to go to the 'dumping site' each time. BUT raking would make it possible for the next person to keep it up. Neighbors will be discouraged from mowing in the future if they have to rake first (&find a place to put it). So it will just all grow back.

Tbh, I wish you'd get back to mostly doing transformations on houses that are being lived in. The interactions with and from homeowners add so much more than just a quick chat with a neighbor.
The next time you mow tall grass and weeds, trying going over it with the deck up high first. The deck set low bends and breaks the grass and weeds too low to mow. You might have to mow it twice though

Yes, it did. I was also really disappointed that he didn’t touch the mess on the right side of the house, or the fence on that side. If he was tired, or just not feeling well, he should have come back the next day to finish and THEN show the before & after images.
If I had a psychological problem I wouldn't go see a psychologist and spend a lot of money lying on a black couch, I can lay in my bed and watch SB Mowing videos and eat popcorn, it's very therapeutic for me, I can watch videos after videos of his landscaping work, allllll the way til the end.🤗🤗

Spencer, we greatly enjoy your videos but some questions we always have are 1.have you ever thought about doing the trimming 1st so as to get the stuff mowed into the yard, and 2. have you ever considered putting mulch blades on , and 3. do you sharpen your blades in-between jobs as it seems like you have to go over everything twice? We have never tackled jobs like you do....only mow for a few elderly locally which is so simple! No question is a dumb question!

A full bag every 6 feet. This yard will thrive on the mulch he leaves behind. And that is normal for what he does on an abandoned property. If someone is living in the house, he'll put in the extra effort. Those properties aren't anywhere as overgrown as this one, and other abandoned properties are.

Hey Spence sir - do you ever just "walk the property," before mowing to check for hazards such as large rocks. metal poles, stumps, wires, etc...? I was watching another channel like yours called, "Midlife Stockman," and he was mowing an overgrown yard on a mower very similar to yours - his back left tire hit a large rock and threw him over his mower and to the left and his arm went UNDER the mower! It was scary! Just hope you're being vigilant and safe. Have a great weekend!

Also curious on this one why you didn’t do anything on the right side of the house, sure wish you’d clean up the dead grass.
Seriously!? He does these lawns for no cost. People say to bag it and put it on the curb for the city to pick up. The city where he lives doesn't do that. It costs to have those bags picked up and it is not cheap!

I was watching another channel like yours called, "Midlife Stockman," and he was mowing an overgrown yard on a mower very similar to yours - his back left tire hit a large rock and threw him over his mower and to the left and his arm went UNDER the mower! Spencer, you always work so hard. You were one of the first lawn care people I started watching on UA-cam. I’m sorry your job just never looks complete because you always leave all the dead grass. Also curious on this one why you didn’t do anything on the right side of the house, sure wish you’d clean up the dead grass.
Seriously!? He does these lawns for no cost. People say to bag it and put it on the curb for the city to pick up. The city where he lives doesn't do that. It costs to have those bags picked up and it is not cheap!

@@ShirleyGreene-l5o Yeah, it's part of the aesthetic of the video. Many people watch for a finished product, and if it isn't finished, then what's the point? That is why i rarely watch Spencer anymore. Too much left behind, unfinished, or dare I say POISON IVY?
He never does any yards for veterans, elderly or single moms anymore. Just vacant property. He used to do a more complete job when he was mowing those types of yards.
He could stand to learn a thing or 2 from Midlife Stockman. I recently found his channel and have been binge watching because he does a complete job plus some extra!

If i may suggest use the weedeater cut the edges down first and it will not bog down your edger. Also get a weedeater steel wire head that will help a lot on drive ways and it will save your back in the long run. Trust me i am old and it helped me a lot
