Kerosene sticks. I never use kerosene in my heaters anymore. Even my 80,000 BTU forced air unit in my shop runs on diesel. It burns so much cleaner (have to re-adjust the pump pressure to burn diesel) and no smell! Diesel also gives off more BTUs than kerosene.
Folks you cannot use diesel on any heater that uses a fiberglass wick. If you got an older heater maybe all cotton wicks are available but most modern wicks have fiberglass top
After you add the diesel fuel conditioner and alcohol to the diesel, you are at the same price (or higher) than kerosene, and K1 doesn't gel in cold weather.
Really?! Unless I travel more than an hour from home K1 is around $10/gallon. I can get diesel/alcohol/additive local and make this for less than half price.
Killed my wick with 1gal diesel... Very well made units mine is Aladdin S681U Equator II. Easy to change wick just rotate Counter-clockwise until tab up from latch then pull knob out to release wick holder collapse wick inwardly from pins reverse with new wick. It took me 2 tries to adjust wick height corectly 3/8inch exposed when fully to right knob (3X wick number) only use K1 or JP1
Thanks brother! Straight to the point!
Do you find it works ? I've just been burning diesel to heat my 24 foot trailer and don't find it bad at all just a little bit of smell
Good tip. Thanks. I'm in Sparta, MO Where are you?
I just use a burn bbl and add trash like FJB or Cackles, even tampon tim... results are poor but the trash is gone.
I run diesel in mine too. You'll get same results without additives. Don't need any of that stuff
Yeah, but only if the wick is in good condition - not all black and crusty.

Agree totally

What brand and model # .
It does not work in new heaters...

It probably is now, but it does burn a whole lot cleaner.

So only run diesel in this heater if its got 100 percent cotten wick or what can i do i have this same type about
Mine has a cotton wick. Yes I use the diesel fuel with the diesel supplement and the bottle of alcohol
@@Missourioutdoors1 how much do you mix in per gallon

Can it burn pure alcohol?
Not to my knowledge. Probably would not try it.
As far as I know, it is one additive or another, but not both. Both is like putting premium fuel into a car designed for regular. A waste.
