My second time playing through this game i thought that this scene was scripted and that the alien couldn't appear so i started hitting the door with the wrench. Absolutely shit myself when i heard footsteps and turned around to see the alien sprinting towards me.
It's not scripted, they designed this section so that if you rush to the transit the Alien will simply not drop down because it's AI simply hasn't generally located you yet.
It's more based on how much you ran around i think. I ran around quite a bit so when i waited too long to get to the train and wanted to mess around, it dropped down instantly.
Well the developers programmed the Alien to track you down and to learn from your playing, which obviously means you will have to play smart and not over use a strategy. So the fact that the Alien eventually appear is not really a surprise if I'm gonna be perfectly honest. All though it depends where on Sevastopol you are. Some places the Alien simply cannot spawn in except catching you if you walk under a vent or something. In some spots throughout the game, the Alien cannot spawn in at all.
@@Maxaxy7207 The Alien’s AI doesn’t learn from the player, the AI simply gets more and more intelligent as you progress in the game (and it’s starts off quite advanced if you play hard/nightmare modes).
First time I played this, the doors to the tram opened, allowing me the blessed safety of bright lights... and as I scrambled for the switch to close the door, the damn Alien rushed me. I cannot even watch these videos. Horror is not for me, but I love Alien series, particularly Aliens. And being able to explore this ship, it is incredible.
I started my first game on a harder difficulty with my friends and they all told me it was impossible to get killed by the alien in that area, so while waiting for the train I was just hopping around like a jackass and as I go to enter the train, I get stabbed from behind through the chest. Most terrifying moment ever lmao
The fact that it takes some time for the transit system to arrive is pure genious. It creates so many intense moments in the game. Just because you have to wait for the damn train to get to you.
Thinking about how underrated this game is/was makes me furious. It is easily one of the best survival horror games money can buy. You can easily lose yourself and get genuinely terrified when this big son of a bitch catches you. The movie did not scare me as much as this game did.
In terms of people prasing the AI it was a bit overhyped in that area. The alien doesn't really "learn". Baring flamethrower reactions. It's mostly scripted behavor patterns. Being unlocked the further the player gets through the campaign. Thing is they got the right pattern. Like with Halo: Combat evolved. It's the RNG elements and realistic bahavior that makes the game come to life. But the game also has a few flaws. Overall though the player is always adapting. Because little is on the rails. In regards to the hunt at least. The alien is one sneaky back tracky bugger on nightmare and survival. I been playing it again. Toss a molotov at it and it probably runs away. Except last time it was on fire and kiled me. On. Fire. It's the semi RNG elements that keep the game engaging. Giving the illusion that the alien adapts. In reality it's percentage chances of it doing something different. It could charge down a hall 5 times and then be in that vent you been trying to cut the hatch on. That happened to me once. Knew it was too quiet in the hall. The game gets a bit slow in the campaign. And some things just make no sense (how do the weapons show up at the botom of a ladder again?) But survival lost contact is pretty fun. In that game mode the alien shows up after the first switch is activated. You can sprint for the first part. Just not on the way back, because then it shows up. Haven't tested waiting around to see if it shows up if the player lingers. But with this we can deduce that the "trigger" for the alien showing up is the first switch being used. In the campaign the trigger is when it kills Axel. Which makes sense. It just saw you. Odds of it showing up at that location are low (or none) on easier difficulties. But nightmare and doodling around while sprinting and making noise? Yep. Good luck there.

On the second try I knew the alien is around but I still have no idea where exactly so I hid in a dark corner as the train was approaching looking nervously for the alien while that gut wrenching music was playing. The button did nothing (i didn't realize it was a tram, and that I was supposed to be waiting for it) so i ran around, thinking i was in the wrong room. The music kept horrifically building up and my heart rate accelerated until i found myself looking for a vent in that very room. And then the music peaked, and the alien drops down RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, facing the opposite direction. My heart DROPPED. I froze, and the alien turned around and killed me.
It happened to me too. During the third playthrough of the game with the Insane AI mod, I was looking for items because I wanted to be well prepared from the beginning and I read somewhere that Alien can only appear after that first cutscene when he comes out of the vent, so I took my time. This is the first part of the game where the alien is in the vents, and will go to the players location at the bahest of the macro AI if you sprint or cause a distraction like this. I learned this the hard way lol.
If you run and make noise you might as well start ringing a dinner bell saying "come and get some. " The second time I ran through this I didn't make noise and as the train door closed I could hear the alien outside the door but by that time he couldn't get in it was very unnerving
I just got the game on switch today, and this scene made me literally shaking in my gaming chair, Like I felt like my real person was in danger and I love when games induce the terror into the player as well, not just the characters in the game.
OMG I was just playing this on my smartphone the other day and I simply thought this sequence was scripted and the alien would never physically appear despite the ominous music and all the sounds. But boy this proves the alien is actually there with you all the time.
This game is under rated. It's targeted to an older audience which is good for me. I put the game down the first time I played about 30 mins. It's slow paced in the beginning. Once you go past the first 30 minutes to an hour it starts to ramp up production volume. I was hooked after the first few hours and didn't put it down. Played the next few days with about 25 hours total. Have to say it was one of the best horror survival games. Had a few bugs I encountered. NOthing major. A good story with great characters. Good voice acting. Graphics were nice at the time and still hold up good in 4k or higher.
What really fucks me up is that I always assumed the alien wouldn’t actually get you here because it has it’s big full reveal a little later, but this section always unnerved me and I would crouch in the shadows until the elevator arrived. Now years later I’m realizing I truly was in danger the whole time and that is horrifying.
lol on my first playthrough I entered the train, pressed the button, turned around and just saw its silhouette standing in the dark staring at me while the doors closed. Creepy af
Lol! I remembered when I entered the tram, and then left the area, I saw alien literally stand outside right in front of me before door were closed, I thought it was a glitch, but holy cow I was wrong. XD I'm not scared, just unexpected to see alien so early.
bro this is like my 4th playthru, on nightmare mode, and i swear to god as soon as i heard it drop from the vent behind me i sprinted for the train! i was very surprised i even made it, even then only because it is one of the trams that doesnt require you to push the button to close the doors
When I first got this game this didn’t happen(than it got tooken of game pass so I couldn’t compete the game) but when I re-got it the alien did come at this part and I genuinely screamed so loud(I have completed the game now)
Replaying this game after 9 years and not completing it on hard, I couldn't remember if this happened or not. So when I got to this point, I was thinking maybe I could scavenge after the tram got there. But then I heard the Xenomorph climbing out of the vent. Luckily, I was already in the tram by the time I heard it, and I don't think I clicked a button faster in my life.
This happened to me too, in one of my play throughs. I thought what everyone else did, it was scripted and wouldn't come after me. I decided to hangout once and wait near the transit after it opened and just about shit myself when it descended from the air duct.
I wonder why it would show itself here and still have the scripted moment later on when it drops down by Amanda and shows its long tail too us lol. Maybe it’s there too freakout people playing a second time that now understand the game. Cause after Axel dies it’s pretty obvious hit the button and wait no ones going to think to go look around.
Yeah, this is the furthest I've played this game. I remember staying outside the train and the Alien just jumpscared me from above. Never played it again since then. 😨
this fucking game isnt for every one i playd it twice on medium and hard and just couldnt get rid of the fear and my heart couldnt take it any more i deleted it and never goin to play it ever at least i finished it twice whould never play it on nightamre even if u payd me
Lucky you. The alien killed me there. At that point i didnt even know how to stay safe from the xenomorph so i sprinted around like crazy after calling the transit.
The alien can hear flares. I used them a lot to distract it from going in my direction... Or bring the alien in a place where there are hostile human. Pretty effective way to clear the path...
Haha I never got the alien because I cowered in a corner and didnt move a muscle until transit arrived. I did hear it scurty through the vents, but I crouched walk until I hit the button lol I remember being so scared hahaha
@@spooks77 lmao first time I did it I figured out the first time you see him there is a animation so I just ran to the door used the code waited till I heard him up vent then I just did whatever
Still remember my first ever time playing insolation and the alien appeared in this section for me (probably because I was running around), biggest scare ever 😅
I don’t know how it’s possible, but first time I played I didn’t see “E” prompt on screen. I thought I had to hide from alien. And After I failed about 5 times, I decided, that was a game mechanic. I left game and didn’t play it for years. I just don’t know HOW I didn’t see this “e” for 4-5 times in a row.🤣
During my 2nd playthrough I waited around a little bit longer to see if the alien would actually come out, when I got bored and decided to leave I could've sworn I heard the alien come out of a vent but wasn't sure.
I don't know, but in my playthrough, the alien ALWAYS appeared in this place. The moment the train came, the alien would start making sounds and if I wouldn't run into the train and start it, it would sprint inside and kill me.
If you wait around too much the alien comes because it goes into the hunting phase I guess where it looks around in your general location and if it hears you it drops down after a bit
It can kill you way before it kills Axel too. It's a secret easter egg death. There is a door that is stuck part way open around the area where you find the maintenance jack and if you stand looking into this dark room long enough it appears and grabs you.
The alien appeared when I walked into the transit and I tried to quickly back up into it as I saw the alien RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE TRANSIT!!! Luckily, the doors shut on him. 😅
Realized I wasn't safe here on my fifth time playing this and heard it drop down while I was taking a breather in the transit... Shit myself on the spot.
So I just started a Nightmare playthrough and after figuring out that the Map is unavailable and the Scanner is fucked, I decided to start a new game on Hard, since I don't want to be robbed of mechanincs on my first run Anyway, I promptly shat myself right here. Could this event be scripted so that it only happens during your 2nd playthrough?
I don't think it is scripted - game goes into "normal" (as in: Alien is after you) mode when Axel dies, so just before this moment. From there on out running causes alien to drop out of the vent, just like what we're used to, only at this moment in gameplay most of the people haven't got that figured out yet (I certainly had no idea about how it works so I got a tail going through the chest just before hitting the button in the train) .
I had a pretty lady friend over who saw trailers of the game and wanted to watch me play it. Wanting to 'show off' at this part, and reasoning that they probably just programmed the section to ramp up tension without actually threatening you, I stood and walked towards the door back to the room where Axel died, my back to the tram, flicking my flashlight on and off and trash talking the xenomorph, just saying things like "Yeah, I wish you would, I wish you WOULD drop down and come looking for me, yeah, c'mon little bitch" things like that. A little after I heard the tram arrive, I say "Alright, let's blow this joint" And turn around just in time to watch the Xenomorph stand up to its full height after dropping out of the vent 5 feet behind me. I am not proud of the noise that left my mouth when that happened.
It won't appear if you play on easy. But i had no clue when i played it on hard on the second go. And then it droped out of the Ceiling Vent. On the last Second i managed to hide like by the Transit Doors. I think my Blood Pressure was immeasurable in those Seconds until the Transit arrived.
My second time playing through this game i thought that this scene was scripted and that the alien couldn't appear so i started hitting the door with the wrench. Absolutely shit myself when i heard footsteps and turned around to see the alien sprinting towards me.

This was also the 1st time I saw the alien, and it killed me of course
I like to think I'm some galaxy-brained genius who didn't give myself the opportunity to find out how early I could die.
If you run and make noise you might as well start ringing a dinner bell saying "come and get some. " The second time I ran through this I didn't make noise and as the train door closed I could hear the alien outside the door but by that time he couldn't get in it was very unnerving
I love the load screen “Aiming your weapon at someone will be taken as an aggressive act and a confrontation can escalate very quickly”
YOU DON’T SAY
I just got the game on switch today, and this scene made me literally shaking in my gaming chair, Like I felt like my real person was in danger and I love when games induce the terror into the player as well, not just the characters in the game.
Oh, you are gonna dive into rollercoaster of fear! Play in dark and don't spoil
@@Valet2 don't worry, i don't like spoilers either.. I fall asleep to the gameplays and I still can't get it right because I'm in a world of panic.
This is where I actually really first met him. Ever.
I wasn't prepare.
And when I saw his "first" venting animation, I understood why.
OMG I was just playing this on my smartphone the other day and I simply thought this sequence was scripted and the alien would never physically appear despite the ominous music and all the sounds. But boy this proves the alien is actually there with you all the time.
Earliest encounter too. Honestly one of the best sequences in the game.
This is available on the phone?
@@nahthanksno8299 exactly!!
First time I played this game back on Xbox One 5 years ago I also saw the alien for the first time in the train.
AAAHHHHHHHHHH I just finished this section. I knew I wasn’t being paranoid going in quietly
My first time through I met the alien here, sensed I was not alone and through the mist was the Xenomorph! Scared the shit out of me, it was awesome
lol on my first playthrough I entered the train, pressed the button, turned around and just saw its silhouette standing in the dark staring at me while the doors closed. Creepy af
Longest wait ever
Lol!
I remembered when I entered the tram, and then left the area, I saw alien literally stand outside right in front of me before door were closed, I thought it was a glitch, but holy cow I was wrong. XD
I'm not scared, just unexpected to see alien so early.
me too it was right in fron of the fucking door
i hit dislike because u said u werent scared! whats wrong with u!!
@@spooks77 I'm too brave. XD
bro this is like my 4th playthru, on nightmare mode, and i swear to god as soon as i heard it drop from the vent behind me i sprinted for the train! i was very surprised i even made it, even then only because it is one of the trams that doesnt require you to push the button to close the doors
When I first got this game this didn’t happen(than it got tooken of game pass so I couldn’t compete the game) but when I re-got it the alien did come at this part and I genuinely screamed so loud(I have completed the game now)
as long as you make enough noise, you can trigger this bad boy as early as before the tram even arrives
The game sound design is so great! Like you can hear Ripleys hearbeat spike in scary moments.
This game LITERALLY scared the crap out of me.
I didnt watch the part where the alien came and went into the transit and the went out and it scared tf out of me
Yeah, this is the furthest I've played this game. I remember staying outside the train and the Alien just jumpscared me from above. Never played it again since then. 😨
ugh me too. i don’t think i can play ever again
@@ceciliamiiller after the first time encountering alien, i thought of deleting this game because i nearly craped my pants
@@kurokan4999 me too haha i managed to go through that part and the alien didn’t appear again but i can’t play anymore im too scared

Not to early you forced him to come looking by running around all crazy like. GG
@@mikesmith9972 usually he appears later and in another level, over than that you are free to run anound and make noises
I shat bricks when I first played this part
Haha I never got the alien because I cowered in a corner and didnt move a muscle until transit arrived. I did hear it scurty through the vents, but I crouched walk until I hit the button lol I remember being so scared hahaha
Did the Alien just call the tram back at the end.
Yup. Been there, done that. Scariest thing ever, till MedBay 😱😱
oh lord medbay was the horror of my entire life for 1 week of me forcing myself to play it while pissing my pants every corner i turned
Dude 1:58 THAT AUTOMATIC DOOR 10/10
@@Valet2 You got balls anyways cuz it was close !
I always knew I had something to be afraid of when it came to that particular tram station
I found out the first time i played, i crouched and stayed hiden, yet he still apeared
Just beat this game and it was a challenge. 10/10
I didn't even know the Alien could spawn so soon !! 😱☠️☠️
Oh good one!
I bought Aliens blackout but I'm scared to play it.
Alien Blackout is a nice little game! The AI is nowhere near as smart as in Alien Isolation, but it's a nice game nonetheless!
@@raven_the_demon it's way too short. Not enough levels.
If you don't think the alien can get you in this section, well, you know what they say, f- around and find out.
I learned that ther hard way
the room with the hanging engine is called the lorenz systech lobby just pointing it out.
Hands down best horror game ever exist 🥺
Sad many people hate this
During my 2nd playthrough I waited around a little bit longer to see if the alien would actually come out, when I got bored and decided to leave I could've sworn I heard the alien come out of a vent but wasn't sure.
When I played the game I hid at this point because I saw the video.
I was sat underneath the vent.
I got a heart attack during this video
It can kill you way before it kills Axel too. It's a secret easter egg death. There is a door that is stuck part way open around the area where you find the maintenance jack and if you stand looking into this dark room long enough it appears and grabs you.
i tried this but nothing happened
So, has anyone been able to confirm this or no???
@Koibye damn,so it's fake..sadly :(
I think he can show up before the transit arrives if you make a lot of noise
John Yeah, I Believe so. 😬
That happened to me
GS925 Gorilla Oh no, I'm sorry.
I also believe he comes no matter what it’s scripted to drop down after a set times as well
Can confirm. Waited like 3 minutes for train. Wacked the glass a couple of times, got killed from behind. Just got the game to.
it's funny he's doing what every character does that dies in the movies
YOu hit the button to take transportation, you go back and you'll see the alien
Remember folks, IGN gave this a 5.9/10.
And to rub more salt in the wound, on the same year they gave cod advanced warfare a 9.1/10.
The alien appeared when I walked into the transit and I tried to quickly back up into it as I saw the alien RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE TRANSIT!!! Luckily, the doors shut on him. 😅
I saw the alien about 5 times and had to uninstall, the nerves couldn't take it 😅
My heart went in my throat when it starts to hunt you 😨😨😱😱
Realized I wasn't safe here on my fifth time playing this and heard it drop down while I was taking a breather in the transit... Shit myself on the spot.
So I just started a Nightmare playthrough and after figuring out that the Map is unavailable and the Scanner is fucked, I decided to start a new game on Hard, since I don't want to be robbed of mechanincs on my first run
Anyway, I promptly shat myself right here. Could this event be scripted so that it only happens during your 2nd playthrough?
No I experienced it in my 1st playthrough because I was searching every nook and cranny for supplies.
Don’t think so. I was killed for the damn Alien in my 1st playthrough too. It supposed to appear later in the game. 😕
That’s the real alien. Right before the train I looked in the code and it spawns right behind you, make noise and your fucked.
A little after I heard the tram arrive, I say "Alright, let's blow this joint"
And turn around just in time to watch the Xenomorph stand up to its full height after dropping out of the vent 5 feet behind me.
I am not proud of the noise that left my mouth when that happened.
Close call
I had it show up *right* as the tram doors closed. Thought it was scripted because it was tied so well XD
It won't appear if you play on easy. But i had no clue when i played it on hard on the second go. And then it droped out of the Ceiling Vent. On the last Second i managed to hide like by the Transit Doors. I think my Blood Pressure was immeasurable in those Seconds until the Transit arrived.
I almost always start making noise like half way through the tram so i can see him and close the door on his face. even if it's horrifying to do so
This is actually something that happens if you wait for too long.
lol i was wondering if it can show up if u don't get in in time
this part is imo always the second most scariest part.
