Intense is understatement! I can only play for about a half hour at a time. The tension just gets to me. I tend to get immersed into games and this 1 is terrifying.

I'm here after 7 years of Alien isolation and i can proudly say this game is one my favorite games i ever played. Absolutely amazing how every single aspect and detail was made with love & effort by the devs 9.7/10 game

You mean aside from the broken vent-entrances, Mission 16 spawn softlocking you, savegames breaking causing 2minute loading screens and the absolute dogshit final 5 missions?
I've also felt AI backs off to some degree when using torch or terminals, otherwise levels would not be playable. But it could also be level layout e.g. try torching in Reoperation server room and it will be less forgiving
@John F Interesting... sometimes i will wait while the alien keeps coming down and sticking around, but when i just decide to go for it, it often backs off. I am not sure if i have ever been killed while cutting a panel. I am talking about the large vent panels to be more specific.
I am surprised after being blasted by the shotgun, the alien decided to jump into the vent instead of coming to get you. (You realized that and quickly stop running and walking to avoid being tracked. What a great play) It may be a different outcome if the alien decided to just catch up with you by foot

I hate it doing these challenges they are crazy hard you'd literally have to go through the level learning it the first time before you can even think about beating it fast. Insanely challenging.
DLC is more oppressive. Alien difficulty is harder than hard but not nightmare. You don't have a map. You can't use the tracker unless you don't mind decimating your score

I am so happy they made Xenos smart in this game as they should been they are faster and stronger than humans can lift a human like it's a toy for them they also show emotions sometimes this and AVP 2010 nailed it

True. That's why I never really go there. The only reason to do that is to collect the flame thrower if your character doesn't have it (e.g Axel see my latest videos) but you can still collect from Scorched Earth (inside the lab)
@@generalzod7959 True for Aliens and the other movies, but they based the theory of Alien Isolation off from the 1979 Alien movie where Mother and Ash said to Ripley that you can't kill it. If you have ever watched the 1979 Alien, which in my opinion is the best one to date, they had to modify tools to build a flame thrower and tracking device. Where there are similarities in the game, you have to make things as well by collecting items and building them in order to survive. The Sevastopol itself also has a liking to the first Alien movie as well. In Alien, the mining tow rig was called the USCSS Nostromo. Ripley had to destroy the USCSS Nostromo and escape via emergency ship in the end because they brought Kane back on board with a face huger from LV-426 and the alien burst out of his chest and escaped. In the end, the alien escaped the Nostromo by slipping on board Ripley's escape ship and she had to blow it out of the air lock. I love the second movie Aliens, but the 1979 Alien is still my favorite. There are a lot of parts in Alien Isolation that are a throw back to the 1979 Alien which is why I purchased Alien Isolation. Extremely fun game, but it can scare the crap out of you, ESPECIALLY the first time you play it. I spent most of my time hiding under desks and in lockers the first time I played the game. I also died quite a bit because the Alien found me haha. The only other game that has made my heart pound as much as it did with Alien Isolation is Dead Space 1 and 2. Didn't much care for Dead Space 3.

Also I always felt the original alien was a superior drone versus the warriors in aliens. It's crazy that Amanda essentially faced the same demon her mother defeated 15 years earlier.
@Dibs yeah true, but like i said, a military grade steel slug can eat through a moderately armored vehicle or shield like paper. While a wide spread beaded shell wouldn't even dent any type of moderate strength armor. A 12g steel case slug will destroy about anything, xenomorph or not. Its essentially a portable rail gun lol
Nice, it is possible indeed. It does not really push alien back, but sort of stuns it for a second or two, so you have some time to escape and hide with lot of luck. I once managed to do the same thing with revolver in level 5. Alien surprised me and was like 7 metres before me, I could not think of anything better so I shot him with revolver. It stopped him, probably stunned by the audacity and stupidness of the act, but I managed to move to another room and hide under table without hin finding me. It was on nightmare. Does not happen often though
Once the Alien starts charging, the revolver is ineffective in slowing the Alien imo. U probably caught him unawares. Try to record all of your gameplay. I am planning to dedicate a WD purple hdd to record literally everything. These drives are designed to withstand extensive writing (continuous recording)

Its not obvious here in this video. The alien will sometimes choose vent over charging in very long corridors such as scorched earth. As if charging is more tiring than slithering in a vent. U either watched other videos or have personal experience?

Tried doing such tricks, but, apparently, my mod currently preventing that... Alien WILL hear you walking from quite a distance once you attract his attention via noise - even when he's in the vent. Only crouching will stop leaving a trail. Funny to watch anyway, (despite this vid being 5 ye old)
I recommend playing WITHOUT any mods whatsoever. That will guarantee best challenge for survivor mode which is so enjoyable. Its like a different game from AI story mode altogether
Wow, thanks for a quick reply ^^ I mean, I played this since 2014 and first thing I thought that Nightmare wasnt that challenging whatsoever, so I decided to adjust it to my own preferences, making new, harsh Alien experience... and fixed some bullshit, like Raincoat Joes spotting you instantly, since their code has a flaw built in it... their spotting parameters are like 9999, so they never say "something amiss?" or "Hmm". Just that my Alien would punish beign for so long in the vents (30 to 40 seconds would attract it) and not being so kindly to attracting it at will

Running always attracts the alien. but u can use it to your advantage!
You can't usually outrun the alien, he got lucky. Try the game though, it's intense. They need to make a sequel.

Alien can prefer chasing via the vents. It gives u another chance to survive if u keep moving

Sega ensured the developers captured the 70s decor as well as the atmosphere of the first Alien film. Sega delivered.
They had access to so much of the original designs and source materials, it's absolutely amazing. The music is accurate as well!

I played and beat this entire game. Not once realizing there are guns in the game....
Problem is game gives the flamethrower without giving players enough chance to experience the full potential of other weapons

I'm a new player, and need some tips. I'm playing on hard but am getting my ass kicked by the alien. It doesn't matter what I do it seems to find me. Any help would be great
Finish story mode first. Then play survivor mode
Crouch walk more often. Especially when you're in a long corridor. If a room has windows the Alien will see you from far away so again same advice
