I remember when I played the 1st Prince Of Persia game on the PC. Back in 1990 or something. It was my first time seeing a 2D side scroller with realistic, smooth animation. Nice to see a new addition to the series.

SNES version was good. I think it inspired Flashback for sure. Imo

Just finished this on switch. It was SO SO good! I loved every second of it! Loved the music, the combat, the platforming! Best metroidvania I have ever played. Please pick this up if you haven’t

The reason why immortals are constantly in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is because the immortals were Persia's equivalent to the Roman legion. Also, other characters in The Lost Crown were named after historical Persian figures, such as Tomyris.
Ubi Soft should release the Sands of Time trilogy on Switch

Dang, wasn't expecting a glowing review from RGT but I'll take it. I'm glad you liked it man! I hope this goes well with other reviewers as well, I've been itching for a new PoP game and a revival for the series.
The jumping wasn’t wonky in the original PoP, at least not in the DOS version. Sadly, nearly every port has terrible controls.
One thing about the running jump of PoP that modern players might find strange: You had to start pressing jump a tile or half-tile before the actual jump, so that the Prince had time to line up his steps. It made it look very realistic! And the game would then have him jump at the edge, so that you always made the three tile jump (or four tiles with ledge hanging). It was a good system.
Tomb Rader 1 also stole that jump system from Prince Of Persia. The OG PoP games use rotoscoping to get those realistic animation. It had a disney-like quality to it.(back in the days when Disney still did 2D animation)

This def looks sick! I fell in love with the original Batman and ninja turtles on NES and I’m always looking for games that give me that same kind of platforming challenge. For some reason this just makes me think of those games in a modern version! Can’t wait to grab it

I have a Victorian England Assassin on my Greek boat. She looks out of place. The Egyptian one blends in nicely.
12:00 The “Immortals” were a Persian army that got its name on how quickly they replaced anyone who fell in battle. it’s historically accurate.
Played the demo today on Switch, I liked it so much I turned on my PS5 straight after finishing with it, and used my stars rewards I’ve been saving on the PS app to buy it.
Platforming feels great, combat felt fantastic.. been waiting for a big budget 2D platformer like this since the original God of War games on the PS3.
Seems like an absolutely perfect game for Switch, so on payday I’ll be buying a physical copy for my Switch 🙂

Just a clarification. You said you wondered what kind of port this would be. This game was developed on Switch hardware and ported to all other systems. This would ensure a high quality base line for resolution and framerate. Then, higher end hardware can hit 4K and above 60 fps.
I liked what I played of the old 2D POP games like on mac and SNES, also really enjoyed sands of time but never got around to the sequels. so seeing a new 2D entry and have them turn it into a metroidvania style game, with the assistance of Jordan Mechner himself, my interest has definitely been piqued! totally going to grab the demo and take it for a test drive, it seems like a lot of fun!

When I first saw the graphics for this game, it IMMEDIATELY reminded me of Immortals Fenyx Rising (which I honestly loved so much), and tbh, I was almost sold on the graphic style alone, but this video kind of clinched it for me (I am not a HUGE fan of metroidvanias, but I am willing to go outside my comfort zone for this). I got my physical copy on Switch and played until 100% it, just couldn't put the controller down. What an awesome game!!!. I love metroidvanias and this is the best one I have played in a very long time.
Definitely getting it for the combat as I like the Metroid combat.
From screen shots I saw and this being on Switch it was easily top 10 games for holiday. Since I mostly buy my own I'll have to get this eventually.

I'm a huge fan of all the 2D Metroids as well as games like Celeste, where you have to do really acrobatic platforming, so this looks like my game.
Just picked this up at Target, was on sale for 29.99, it came with the Warrior Within outfit, this game is 🔥
Crazy how people went to hate this game to now be loving it so much. Guess the opinion of their favorite tubers truly influences them and not the fact that its gameplay never looked anything but amazing.
Well, the gameplay is great, I think once those people hating on it give it a try they will like it right from the start. I just got the demo, and surprisingly it's pretty good
One large reason was because they hated that the game was "too woke". There were so many of those responses on the trailer itself and during the TGA reveal, and people to this day still making jokes about the character's hairstyle and race. This is all despite the fact that this is clearly not the prince and the creator himself said that the Prince of Persia can be literally anyone.

I loved the Sands of Time because of the simplicity and the quality of the story. Also the same with the first four AC games.

the platforming in this game is super hardl but it is sooo fun and will not bore you at all. it is as if "Celeste" slapped with metroidvania stuff

I absolutely loved Immortals Fenyx Rising, I know the humor was a bit cheezy but it's the closest we have had to BOTW and TOTK so far (the shrines were awesome) I think it's a shame the sequel was scrapped probably because of the negative reviews, they were aiming to go in the Elden Ring direction, and I would have loved to see it.
Fenyx rising is better than tears of the kingdom. Tears of the kingdom runs like crap and is so damn boring.

Hearing this review, I think I’m going for a physical release. It all depends on the file size, as there probably won’t be much of a difference in price between physical or digital.
You would be pretty wild not to start investing in physical cartridges especially with it being guaranteed that we are having backwards compatibility. I don't buy games under a 7.5 rating so all my switch games are physical. My nerd homie at Target told me that since it's going to be backwards compatible all the Nintendo games especially the first party will go up to $70 even before the switch too. So yes get physical.

WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!!!!! Did I see that right?!?!?! Ubisoft made a menu interface where I can use a controller as if it is a controller and not a F**CKING MOUSE!!!! Best ubisoft game of the year, hands down just for that.

I've played every game in the Prince of Persia series except for 3D. I've loved each one except for Battles.
This game is great. It's a wonderful return to the feel of the puzzle platforming of the classic 2D games and the Sands trilogy but as a modern fast Metroid update and filled with creative ideas.
I think my only problems with it are entirely self inflicted. I'll force myself through some intensely difficult sections only to get a new power later on that would have made that section easy.

Looks good on Nintendo Switch. However, the one thing that bothers me in games where you have in-game “conversations” with other characters is that many of them just show boring TEXT dialogs without any voice acting. It would be more satisfying if these “conversations” are actually acted out by voice actors! 🗣 Forcing us to read text while playing the game is not the way to go.
Im sad this game is not getting more attention. Probably my new favorite modern metroidvania, def top 5 for sure. It really is one of the best metroidvanias out there.
If you played hollow knight this will be very familiar in many of the mechanics. It manages to have it own identity and feel pretty fitting for the franchise too. Don't sleep on this one. Its great, if you dig metroidvanias.
I played the PS5 demo and the Switch demo and i felt the controls were better on the Switch. Of course the Playstation version had better graphics but im leaning to purchase this on Switch next week.

Its look amazing. Action pacted and agile. Like the jumping puzzle. Slightly sad by the some of the comments first take of trailer. Glad the game came good. Looks great. Prob going to get it for Switch, seem it be perfect.

It was made by the same studio that made the Rayman origins and legends games. They're also great 2D platformers, if you haven't played them.
I was having major controller issues with my XBOX One PC controller and ended up playing on my PS4 instead. I dont understand how or why they overlooked PC controller support when it is sooo much of an integral part of the game.
Immortal fenyx is a very good game but hard game which took some of its vibes from botw the reviews didn’t favored it but I would recommend playing that anytime it’s a extremely long game 100 plus hours for sure but the battles are spot on I would give it a 10/10 love it

I mean UA-cam reviews were mostly positive towards immortals. It's still in the shadow of breath of the wild but there's nothing wrong with that, it's better than most triple a games and was a nice change for ubisoft.
Got it Christmas 2020 and yeah it is huge especially coupled with the dlc.. I need to go back and finish that one.. It does feel like they rolled PoP, God of War & Zelda in a blender with what they came up with
