Man, the illustration of the clips were golden! I was staring at this thing for 10 mins trying to figure out how to get the bulb out. Excellent! Entire process took me about 15 mins with the battery still in. Great Vid. Disclaimer. I attempted a day before got stumbled viewed this video the next day then banged it right out.
these RX350s could have come with Halogen, HID, or LED I'm told. With your video now I know I have HID. I'd say nothing is blown cause they all work. But low beams are not very bright anymore. I've already cleaned up the lenses. Now I want to replace bulbs as well. I wonder if ballasts get weak as bulbs do or if it's just on or off for the ballasts. Best video on this I've seen without a doubt. Thank You
Nice and clear, you showed every step (including showing us how the driver and passenger side will look like, which I really appreciate). Thank you very much, you are a living legend.
One recommendation I would add is if you use the Old O-RING on the new Ballast, be sure to spray some Silicone Lubricant on it making sure you spread the silcone liberally all around and both side of the O-Ring. Without it, they will dry out, lose their sealing qualities and eventually tear. These seals keep moisture from getting past the ballast and into the headlight compartment. If that happens you will get that inside moisture on the inside of the lens causing many headlight problems.
I know that wasn't easy to film. Getting hands and camera in that tight space at same time. But well done! We could see everything, and you included helpful detials!
So the Phillips D4S's worked perfectly. Thank you for a great instructional video. Best one I found on this subject. And my old ones were also Phillips D4S. Glad to see someone other than Sylvania making these products.
The bulbs I bought are exactly what you took out in this video. I did not buy the Lexus/Toyota "OEM" parts. They were ~$200 apeice! My passenger side is intermittrent, blinking, so I hopeful it is not the ballast.
Hey did you un-connect the negative battery terminal before the video? Because heard there is a high voltage! How safe is to unplug the connector of the ballast?
Thanks👏🏻👍 I will do it myself, at lexus they told me 400$, don’t know for what exactly, I didn’t care any more😂 and I live in Poland, so this is like equivalent to 1 million dollars in US😂😂😂
1:04 Thank you for the great video with very clear instructions. My only problem or question is that when I went to lexus to buy the ballast, they told me that that is not sold separately from the entire light module. They said there is no way to just purchase the ballast and gasket alone. When I looked online, I couldn't figure out if the aftermarket were the correct ones for my car. No matter how long I searched, I came up empty-handed. Do you have any suggestions on how to find the correct ballast for my 2013 lexus rx350 passenger front side? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I can’t seem to find this bulb but cheeper! Everything I seem to find is for the high-beam bulb. I’m I looking for the wrong thing? Thank you for this video bc none of these other videos show how to replace this part!
If you search for this part number 90981-20024 they should come up, they are not cheap they are about $189 per bulb at the Toyota dealer and can be over $200 at the Lexus dealer
Great Video! Do you know if a LED bulb can be added by completely removing the ballast and connecting direct to the DC source? What would be the connector type to order H1, H7, etc?
I'm looking at replacing the HID with a LED bulb as well. My reading suggests that LED doesn't need a ballast. Does anyone have info about that? Moreover what connection should the LED bulb be? H7?
Are you looking to change to a factory Lexus LED? or to a LED Bulb that fits into these units. Its best to change the bulb to the factory one as LED bulbs will most likely be from China and not be bright enough or even last that long, best to stick to factory in my opinion, more money but will last longer
btw, your lighting and instruction are more clearer than other posts, thanks again
Thank you!

Thank you, glad it was helpful
Great video without any bullshit music or stupid comments. Thank You!

Can you recommend which lubricant to buy?

Just got a 2013, this will be very helpful if I need it.
Good video.
Left is driver’s side. Right is passenger’s side. Vehicle side for ordering parts is always determined when seated in drivers seat.
Thanks for the info
Great video and instructions. Thanks for sharing

Well done, easy to follow. Thanks

Thanks for clarifying which side is driver and passenger

Great video!! How much did you pay for that ballast? I’m using the chinese copies for my Camry, but they’re crap. The OEM here costs US$ 400 each!
Best video ever!

Try calling another dealer, some dealers won't sell by its self, also try calling a Toyota Dealer, they should have the same part number in inventory

Hi! Great video, do you know if this would also be work for 2010 model?
Yes it should be the same for the 2010 model, let me know what issue you are having and I can possibly help determine what you need
THANK YOU 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
VERY detailed; thanks.
You are welcome!
How about a 2011 bought a new bulb and installed it but still no light
My HID turn on but won't still on long. What's the problem you think.
Great video thanks
Does same apply to 2006 es 350 to check if it’s bulb or ballast
How can you tell if the fuse is bad without buying a new bulb and having it blow in result of a bad fuse.
Buy a new fuse and install it, if it blows when you turn your lights on then you know its the ballast, let me know if that helps
thanks for the parts#, i used it to look up for LED replacement bulb

Those stupid metal tabs are annoying. I think they are made for small hands. Sometimes you just push them in towards the center, not down and in.
I actually have a few spare bulbs that I can sell to you for cheap, send me an email to bobthepromoter@gmail.com
Thanks!
Excellent job - thank!
