That moment with the kid had me in tears. What a wholesome and wonderful thing to do for that dad and his son, plus a new record to boot? Amazing, well done Travis!
Travis is one year older than me. So when I was a little kid racing dirt bikes I looked up to him. As a teen in freestyle motocross I really looked up to him. Now as an adult, a father, a rally and Subaru enthusiast I have admired Travis for his accomplishments and attitude for almost 30 years. He doesn’t have to swear or put on an act to be cool. He has a genuine attitude and an incredible amount of skill and focus and drive. He’s been my favorite athlete for most of my life and I really hope that someday I can meet him. What a great run, and a special thing to run up the mountain with those ashes.
As someone who as met him, he is probably the most genuine people I've ever met, his energy is inspiring. A true role model and if I find a way to make the money to compete in rally I hope that one day I get to race against him
Man... What an incredible episode. I'll never forget watching the World Record run the day it was released and being in complete awe of what had just taken place before my eyes! But to see this in depth video, and hearing the story of taking the ashes of that poor man's deceased son up the mountain with him takes it to a whole different level. That has to had made this even more special for Travis and the team. Great job, and congrats to everyone involved. This was beautiful ❤
It doesn't matter if this is the 50th season of Launch Control, or the first... This show puts a huge smile on our faces, and Brings chills down or arms and spines... It's literally that good. Thank you Subaru along side Vermont Sports Car, and let's not forget the production team. Dream come true.
These videos are epic. The narrator's voice gives me the tingles, the camera angles are top notch and everything is edited flawlessly. Big thanks to everyone that takes part in making these.
Been a massive Fan of Subaru, Colin McRae and Prodrive since 1993 and owned only Subaru for 19 years. I thought my passion for Subaru in Motorsport had died until David Higgins and Craig Drew joined VSC. Then my love for the name exploded again. But I didn’t think someone could replace Higgins and Drew after they left. But thankfully Travis was there again to keep my passion alive. And that my friend became more than just Power, Speed, Aero and the likes and all went out the window after you agreed to take Alec’s ashes up the Mountain. Massive respect to the Team, Travis organisers and Alec’s Family. That was amazing to watch 👏👏👏👏 RIP Alec 🏆
maaaannn, here i was just wanting a little entertainment to start my day off... but now i gotta stay in the house for another 5 to make it not look like i was just cutting up the onions. that was a freaking beautiful thing he did
TRAVIS has become the personification of automotosport for me, so much to give to the sport, to the people and humanity without a second thought without needing to put an act on just by being himself
Travis is always a class act. Hats off to Subaru on building an amazing machine. And I love how he gave Alec White a fast ride to the man upstairs .... ❤
I was on the OTHER SIDE OF MOUNT WASHINGTON!!! The day this happened I was on vacation with my buddies to go hiking, and the day after we drove the mountain road and I took pictures with the Subaru trailers. I MISSED HISTORY! I took this as a sign in my life that im close to my goal to be as close to Subaru motorsports as possible. If anyone at Subaru reads this, I would've been there. I swear I didn't mean to miss this 💔 CONGRATS TRAVIS! This was huge huge huge!!
That was the BEST EPISODE EVER!!!!! It was hard not getting emotional about the father losing his son but the fact that Travis was able to do that for that family is so inspirational that your Always Respect Travis Pastrana no matter what and support him.
This was an incredible episode! What a touching story in addition to the insane record! This car, this man, this team makes everyone proud who's involved with a Subaru! I feel bleesed that i had a chance to get to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and i went beacuse Travis and the Airslayer STI, i wanted to meet them so badly. Travis is an incredibly awesome, cool person! You felt that when he signed for you something or took a picture with you, he spent that few seconds, or that minute with you. Respect to him!
I can sympathize with Alecs father, Travis and the team are amazing people. My BIL was going through cancer treatment the winter prior to this event. They stopped to watch Travis do some practices. Travis got word of my BILs situation and he made it a priority to go and visit him in his home later that day. It truely made his day at a low point in his life. Two weeks before Mt Washington, my BIL passed away. I wanted to thank Travis for stopping in and visiting him and my sister, but didnt get the chance to since we were on the Mt that day and didnt have time to stop by the pits. I know it was a special moment for them.
I drove from Omaha Nebraska to Mt Washington in my 2016 Subaru WRX STI. That road is incredible and knowing your team has made it up there that quick is SO impressive! Love the story of how it all came down. Thank you for making this series year after year. I truly love the depth it brings to these stories!
I didn’t expect to cry Subaru! 😭 Travis continues to exemplify what sports heroes everywhere should strive to copy. Proud of you brother. Respect from another Marylander.🤜🏽🤙🏽♥️ RIP Young man. May the family’s hearts find peace. 🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽♥️
The first thing i always expect while watching LC is adrenaline rush for every Scooby ferocius assault on gravel tarmac or anything!. But not this time..this just soo wholesome..Bless you Travis, VSC, Subaru and most of all Rest in Peace Alec..know that you are part of legendary Washington mountain slayer records for years to come..
Wow ... powerful powerful episode .. so sorry to the father and family who lost their son. Travis is so good at what he does .. he has every right to be cocky and stuck up and he's one of the most kind hearted genuine people we have in this world. If we had more people like him in this world it would be a better place. Congratulations and thanks Travis..thanks for being awesome all the time and subaru .. you guys are always great and I'm so glad youre working with Travis.. what a great face and heart to represent the subaru team.
Wow! Just speechless, this type of moments can connect different people. It just amazing! Thank you Pastrana, Subaru & Hoonigan for achieving the trophy and beyond the physical trophy, one that warms the hearts of us. Thank you
What a fantastic video and story to share. I remember watching the record run. Of course it was amazing on it's own, but none of us had any idea what was going on in the background. Wow. Makes me an even bigger fan now. Great job Travis and great job Subaru.
Amazing episode! I had no idea about the tribute to that kid, his father, and helping get them up the hill in record time. This series just keeps getting better and better!
The most scared I've ever been in a car is looking off the side of Mt.Washington on my way up. Videos do not do it justice. Nice work Team Subaru and Travis!!
was not expecting to cry during this episode.. but after hearing that a father approached Travis and shared his son's story and life, that he just lost his son and asked Travis if he can ride with the son's ashes.. I cant stop it.. Travis and Alec broke the record..
it kind of reminds me of the group b era when car manufactures went crazy and built some of the best rally cars still do date. this car will go down in history.
Many users hope that the Subaru WRX STI model will be released in City Racer, an online racing game that has been in service in Korea for 20 years. There are a lot of fans of the Subaru WRX STI model at City Racer.
That was Awesome! Now the kid in Spirit took a Historic Ride with Travis up the Mountain and he’s a part of the Record set by Travis and His Team! That was a Special Moment in time! And I don’t think it took Travis’s mind set of beating the Record off track I think it made him push harder. Because of what he said about looking back and seeing it get broken in the future, I think his Co-driver gave him the edge he needed to set a record that may never be beaten! At least I hope so! Much Respect To Team Subaru And Travis!
A great video guys. As a 2020 base model WRX/STI owner I am amazed @the job Subaru does with these cars. Stay safe out there guys and gals and subies forever ❤️
That moment with the kid had me in tears. What a wholesome and wonderful thing to do for that dad and his son, plus a new record to boot? Amazing, well done Travis!

Couldn't have said it better myself, as a father of two sons who are car crazy... truly inspiring and touching
To take Alec's ashes up the mountain on the run and to not milk it for commercial gain speaks volumes and exudes class. Thank you, Travis and Subaru.
