  • I was nervous after completing my first ever sand leveling project on my lawn, but what has happened since?
    In just a matter of days the lawn recovery is going strong and I am back to reel mowing. Today I'll show you the results from the topdressing and overseeding and what I have learned about the sand leveling process so far. I also apply a round of fertilizer and Soil Hume with kelp to help push root growth this fall. Now is the time to get your fall program going!

      They have thousands of dollars back in their pockets and lots of time back in their control though.
      What this guy does is a full time job and it is unrealistic for most people.

    • @Ryandoesdifferentthings
      @Ryandoesdifferentthings 3 роки тому

      @@someguy5035 it’s not really un realistic. Rye grass is easy, I hardly do any of the fertilizing that he does and my Rye in AZ looks amazing in our cool season.

      @@Ryandoesdifferentthings I agree that having a decent yard is realistic.
      Everything he does though? Unrealistic. He mows every day. Special mowers. Chemicals. Rollers. He says he is doing something in the yard every day.

    Amazing! Front is looking so good after that sand leveling. I overseeded and aerated and just gave some lawn energizer to it. Pushing a bunch of growth right now, it’s dark green and full! This weekend marks the 3 week period since I overseeded. Going to cut it and continue following your plan.

    Ryan, great channel and videos. I've been following along this year with your program and my yard has never looked better. Getting a delayed start on my backyard renovations as we had snow last week (Colorado Springs), which meant turn off sprinklers but I've turned them back on. Watching soil temps and think I'm good for the rest of the month, so reseeding this weekend. Keep up the great work!

      As much as I detest HOAs, mainly because of the constant overreach of authority, at least the properties in the community are required to be kept up.
      My neighborhood is older, built early 80's, no HOA. Many people take pride in their properties, but it's every 4th or 5th house where they make zero effort.

      was there an adjuvant or tank mix with the iron?
      Usually it turns the grass black but nitrogen or Methylated seed oil with iron could do more serious damage to a spot.
      I also have a higher pH, like your lawn so learning about anything you add to iron applications would be pure gold. Methylated seed oil and nitrogen?
      Your lawn does have the best color of all the lawncare channels on UA-cam and that's with alkaline soil.....wow!

    Hey Ryan, I love your videos. I bought a house last year and have been putting in a ton of time trying to get my yard to look amazing. I've used weed killer to get rid of my dandelions but they're really slow to die so I've been picking them out and filling holes. My yard was always really lumpy and I'm interested in doing some leveling. I live in Seattle and it's now June 24 and the sun is finally coming out. Is it too late too level? Will the sand/top soil mixture be too much with the summer heat for the grass to stay alive? Also, what kind of sand do you use? I've heard people say play sand is too fine and dusty, so they use medium grain (which is more expensive). Also, after doing the leveling, how long do you think I should wait to introduce some new seeds? If you don't recommend, I will spot seed on all my patchy spots from digging out dandelions. Thank you so much for your help!
