That was very interesting to watch. I have morrison 45cc chainsaw and having similar oil leak issue at the moment, the only difference i noticed, i have 45cc morrison @home is exactly the same, the oil is leaking down from the oil screw where you maximise and minimise the oil supply to the chain bar. Its time consuming procedure by the looks of it, and the local chainsaw mechanic is going to rip off my skin to fix it, this is the time where UA-cam comes handy and gives us confidence to DIY our toys. Cheers mate
Great video. I was given 2 x chainsaws for nothing. Now I am able to fix both for £7.50 using service kits. Both had oil problems so really appreciate your videos. Cheers from old George UK
Thanks for the informative video, second use and my oil pump has failed and on the first use the spark plug went and the carby went out of tune. I’ve purchased a set of tuning tools and looks like I will have to buy a oil pump now as well. Cheers and thanks for the video mate.
If it's any consolation, mine is running well, in fact it's better than ever. Keep an eye on the fuel tank filter. Ethanol killed mine, so I replaced it.
Thank you very much. I have a chinese chainsaw just like yours. I took out the oil pump and the hose of the oil pump, but it didn't had the filter on it ( the one in the oil tank ). Anyway, your video helped me to understand better this chainsaw. Thank you.
Nice work. Always nice when you can fix the problem yourself. I just took in my Makita DCS6400 20inch chainsaw for a 2nd time b/c the chain bar oil continuously leaked a profusely after a short run. I'd sit the chainsaw down and come to a pool of chain bar oil at the bottom of the saw and anything it was resting on was drenched. I thought it was simply the oil line that came loose. The oil line that connected to the pump kept sliding off therefore I had to replace the line for $45. Now, no more pools of chain bar oil left at the scene. 👍🏽🙂
Yes, I tried that, but it didn't sit right, so I opted for the more brutal approach. If I have to do it again, I will make one out of flat steel, drilled for 3 bolts.
@@dan_6915 Yes, I used a rope in the cylinder, shown at the end of the video. The grinding tool thing didn't work for me, so I had to use the more brutal, Hammer and drift, solution..
Many people said "You can't buy parts for these saws." Well you just proved them wrong. Lol. Too bad many of them won't watch this video. It's a great saw.
The 45/52/58 cc saws are all the same, except the cyl/piston and everything is available in the UK from a crankcase to a nut. If you're in no hurry, you can buy direct from China at a much reduced price. This oil pump took 11 days from order to delivery. ..
Parts may be hard to find but by the time something goes wrong with these saws you have gotten your money's worth out of them, just get another one of them and presto, still cheaper than a Stihl saw. I purchased a Ryobi 3714 chinese made saw for $119 bucks on one small job made $ 180 bucks plus some other minor jobs that have given me close to $ 500 bucks in less than a year of ownership so if it breaks you better believe I will get another one of the same, but right now I know I can get the three years of warranty worth of money, good money.
I got a similar chainsaw pouring oil out the bottom. Thanks for showing this film, I couldn't solve how to get the clutch out. I used a mason chisel cause I love my screwdriver too much. Then I used a little floating gasket to try seal the leaks, and under the small metal plate where the oil should come out in the sword to the chain. Seems to have stopped the oil leaking in a pool under the saw.
Buying a tool is the easiest way to undo the clutch. Making one can be done with a piece of flat steel and drill 3 holes and insert bolts or welding 3 pegs to it. My oil outlet was so tight, that it hasn't leaked, but using silicon or PTFE tape could also be used to seal it. Thanks for the comment..
Be careful zinging the throttle like that without the bar and chain on, as I didn't see you torque that clutch down too tight. They come flying off sometimes ... quite a fun surprise! But, good checking to see that oil was flowing, and your problem fixed, before putting the bar on. Nice job.
Thank you for this video. I spent most of this afternoon arguing with the clutch, and ended up bashing it with a screwdriver too. Mine is pouring out oil so I'm hoping changing pump, pipes and resealing the gasket will solve it. We'll see!
@@SuffolkWood Yes! New oil pump, very cheap on ebay, and likely need new gasket unless you are cleverer than me taking apart the bit under the bar nuts. Fairly simple job and it fixed it.
There is a tool available to remove the clutch. I picked one up here in New Zealand for about $30.00. Just Google 'Clutch Removal Tool for Chinese Chainsaw ' and you will find one. I have three of these saws,1x58cc and 2x62cc, only cause I got the 62cc jobs at a real cheap price. I enjoy using them all as well as working on them, quite easy really.
Hey, thanks for the video. Have you been able to figure out what caused your oiler to fail? I've been reading about it, and some people were mentioning that the little bearing balls which are used to plug the technological holes sometimes fall out, but that wasn't the case with your oiler.
No, I couldn't see why it failed, but they're cheap enough, so it's best just to replace it. The one I fitted is still going strong, as is the saw itself, (I used it 2 days ago). Regards..
At 2.08 the oil flows into that channel and into the corresponding one in the bar, then is forced into the chain guide slot and onto the chain through a small hole. Thanks for the comment..
Good video, try a spanner on the clutch before you start bashing it. I used a large angle grinder spanner. Something with pins that fit in between the shoes. That avoids the damage you were showing.
I have the same saw. When I took it apart and tested the pump (Panfeng pf43) I found the pump works when spinning in the opposite direction from the way the plastic driver (stamped PA 46) spins it when the saw is running. I need a driver that is reverse threaded. I see your package came with several of those. One of them might be the correct one. Can you provide a link to the supplier that sold you the parts?
All pumps and drives for this saw are exactly the same. This one came from (Ebay) magicbox2018 direct from China, now £3.67 inc P/P. There are also plenty of UK suppliers on Ebay. Just buy any pump/drive package, it's the best way and cheap. Regards..

Mine broke the little tiny metal part on the topside of the oil adjustment screw so the screw doesn't stay in and thus the gear shifts to the left and thus doesn't pump oil.
Excellent video, concise and to the point. Can you--(or anyone else!)--tell me exactly where i can get these spare parts from for my chinese chainsaw? Only mine is now leaking like a sieve for the last six or seven months, but from where i do not know. Is there a website where i can order from, getting a bit desperate, it needs to get back to work!! Any help in finding an address for parts gratefully received, thank you in advance!! Mikky.
Same pribkem with same brand. But my problem is I have no tools to remove the clutch. I think its good also to make homemade tools to remove the clutch
Yes, you can make one with a piece of flat steel with 3 pegs made from bolts, drilled or welded to it. I just used a hammer and screwdriver, but it could damage the clutch. Tools are also available on Ebay, which include a piston stop..
I'm a mechanic and I agree with you using rope to stop the piston. This is safiest way to avoid any damage inside unlike to other youtube channel using metal. I used cotton handkerchief inserted inside and it is pretty doing well
I doubled up some small rope and jammed it in the spark plug hole. And then just kept hitting the clutch with a hammer and screw driver clockwise. It look a few turns to free up to remove by hand.
I think your main problem was your plastic drive gear. It looked like the worm teeth were almost completely worn down and not engaging the metal pump drive gear.
You maybe right. One thing is certain, they are cheap to buy, (6-7 quid) and easy to fit. The one you see here is still going strong, as is the saw itself..
