@@violasheilah5702 for my case they asked why i chose that school, it was the only community college and the rest of the schools i applied to were Universities. So i told them i chose that school because they offered me my program of choice and also the weather in the state is more relatable as an african since its a bit warmer

the F-1 visa allows the student to enter the country up to 30 days before the stated start of the program. If you were to travel before that, your visa would be canceled I think.
not with your visa. but you could still go there as a tourist visa-free if your country is an ESTA country. however you would have to leave and re-enter with your visa to be allowed to study.
