Still have all the original sets and terrain. This is the game that got my son into miniature gaming. Its one of the best... if not THE best... intro games into the hobby.
Pretty excited for this release. If it wasn't for Heroscape and Dawn Of War I would never know there exist a hobby built around painting and playing with miniatures.
Small correction - Heroscape is currently produced by Renegade Games. Avalon Hill was going to take the game on, but due to the horrifically managed and ultimately failed Haslab crowdfunding attempt, Hasbro passed Heroscape on to Renegade.
I was going to say what in the heck are they talking about?? That pulse crowdfunding disaster was absolutely pathetic and utterly ignorant by Hasbro. Just to try to save a few dollars. They try to use their own crappy crowdfunding platform instead of using Kickstarter or game found which would have been absurdly successful. So then they make a deal with renegade to actually gets the game to the table, no thanks to Hasbro or Avalon Hill
I played Hero Scape with a dude I met at a flgs years back. He had multiple basic sets and all expansions, had some epic battles! Special agents vs dragons vs aliens doesn't seem very engaging to me at first glance, but it just sort of worked. Good game, bringing back memories seeing this review.😊
Corrections: The "basic game" uses the "basic" versions of the character cards, which you were using as the front sides while leafing through them. Those sides have no special abilities and have altered stats to rebalance the characters. The map "levels" on the scenario pages are simply instructions for building the maps since you start at the bottom layer ("level 1") and build upwards. When HS originally came out it ended my mini gaming hiatus which had been in place since my friends stopped being willing to play Mordheim with me. In those same years, Rackham was producing for Confrontation a line of miniatures that remain to this day the most beautiful figure sculpts out there. The two combined to pull me back in hard and, happily, I've been firmly entrenched since.
I've always wanted to figure out a way to use my old Heroscape terrain in Infinity (similar to maps I've seen on TTS), biggest issue I saw was minis sliding off the hard plastic and falling...
This came out of NOWHERE for me, I thought HeroScape was d-e-a-d dead. This makes me so happy...and of course it's already completely sold out XD But I look forward to it coming back into stock and rejoining the fight!
The Hasbro link just goes to a product-not-found page for me. Wonder if it's a regional thing (I'm in Ireland). I think my 8 y/o son would love this. We've played through the base HeroQuest and are about to start the new Talisman.
125 bones for all that stuff is a reasonable price point. IIRC the original Heroscape had lots of smaller boosters. Always wanted to get into the game, but never got the opportunity.
Hmm I’m an 8th grade teacher in USA. I wonder if this would be good for a board game club. Seems like it. Any depictions of overt violence or anything?
I've played the previous iteration and have good memories of it. Definitely think a game like this would be well received by the students just need to consider protecting the cards.
Back during the original one this was always a big hit at my middle school board game club. We all put our initials on our collections so we could combine the together for massive games.
I think middle schoolers would love it. Also consider getting a Rise of the Valkyrie set off of eBay. You would have enough between the two sets to have a lot of kids playing at once. I don’t know what you mean by overt references to violence - it’s a strategy/war/skirmish game, just more lighthearted, fun, and fast paced. Good for spatial reasoning.
$220 for the painted Master set? Heroscape painted Master set at $220? This will chase off ALOT of players and rightfully so. Justify all you want but there is no way you are going to pull in enough new players to keep Heroscape going at this price point. I have been with Heroscape from day one and have seen it grow and then bad decisions that saw Heroscape disappear from the shelves. Saw it come back with the D&D skin and told if we do not back it we will not get anymore Heroscape only to see it go away anyway. Great game and still have my stuff from all those years ago and pick up sets that I find along the way to add to my already huge collection. Just hard to pull the trigger on a $220 painted Master set to go along with the old stuff.
This game helped get me interested in mini wargaming back in the day. Still have everything for a sorta nostalgia reasons. That said, what was dead should have stayed dead.

Heroscape is what essentially onboarded me into the hobby when I was a kid!
dnd miniatours is what i started with, hillgiant barbarian still my fav wargame unit ever lol just a absolute beatstick on a budget.

Cool, Battletech hex terrain 😄👍

And Renegade did a GREAT job!

So happy they are bringing this back!
There’s a reason the game stuck around even without support from the manufacturer
I never 0layed Heroscape but I vividly remember it being the sponsor of Saturday morning TV on either ITV or Sky in the uk.

Love what you guys do, keep up the great work!
A guy I knew once gave me like 4 full bags of Mage Knight miniatures that I still don't know what to do with.
Besides playing original Mage Knight, they would be perfect for Space Weirdos/Sword Weirdos or Song of Blades and Heroes!
We would use old mage knights to make custom heroscape guys. Your comment brought me full circle haha
Play Mage Knight! 24 years later it's still an excellent game.
I've always wanted to figure out a way to use my old Heroscape terrain in Infinity (similar to maps I've seen on TTS), biggest issue I saw was minis sliding off the hard plastic and falling...
8:00 - heatgun/hairdryer and a little flexing?
after painting tons of minis, having a huge grey pile and recently collecting x-wing, i have to say unpainted minis now really put me off a game.

Did you get the other sets? The battle for the wellspring box only includes 6 units total but was advertised as a 2-player starter set.
Hope you get to review the Halo miniatures games soon!
Hopefully the new terrain is better quality than the old terrain. It was shocking how fast that stuff turned brittle.

Same for me but some of the UK retailers have it to order.
You could check you countries supplier
It’s working for me! Try this?? www.hasbropulse.com/product/heroscape-age-of-annihilation-master-set-premium-painted-edition/HPK5500000

Keep in mind the painted set is 225. Unpainted is 125.
@@SirTeaOfBagz Oh. That's a little different.
@@chadnine3432it’s still cheaper than a commission painter would be. So it’s worth it to not have the backlog lol

Is this a new set? I have so much Heroscape I need to sell.
Yeah it’s the new set.
What ya got that your looking to sell
Cool
Think you're referring to Golden Compass/Northern lights at the start. Excellent show/film/book
