Hey Anindya, I would suggest you to apply for "MERIT-based scholarship" before admission and "FINANCIAL SITUATION BASED scholarship" after admission. Reason: Your study visa is dependent on the proof of being financially sound. All the best with the applications.

Hey, If you are in the 4th Semester of a German University, then this might be your final or penultimate Semester. You need to hurry up and make your Motivation letter. Primarily look for university website and get in touch with the co-ordinator. If they have little idea then, look for infos from International office.
There are some scholarships that are valid overall in Germany like Deutschlandstipendium or DAAD scholarships.

Hello Dheeraj, The BW scholarship lays focus on academics and social contribution. I would suggest try to get above average results in first two semester. Then check if you could add some social factor to your profile. You can apply for BW scholarship multiple times. I would suggest first give a shot after 2nd semester. Ask the International Office about exact deadlines because sometimes deadlines on website are not updated. Once the profile is good then you will have 2 chances (end of 2nd sem & end of 3rd sem). Hello if you are applying before coming to Germany, your bachelor academics are important. If you apply after coming in Germany, your performance in Germany carries more weightage!

There are scholarships like Deutschland Stipendium, MLP stipendium, e-fellows, DAAD which you should definitely give a try. Best time to apply is within 2 weeks of start of application. It depends on the college and state you are in and also the type of Ph.D contract that you are having. If you have received a full funding, then it itself is scholarship.
