Completely agree..he suffered injurie after US Open 2011..and didnt manage to come back at the same level. But if we talk about level..2011 definitely. He had 11:1 against Roger and Rafa
It is very surprising that the same player can change so much in four years. 2011 more aggressive than anyone else, 2015 more solidly defended than anyone else. And both are legendary as the best seasons in men's tennis.
I appreciate 2011 due to his aggressive, especially the forehand and backhand down the line, just amazing. 2015 was prolific for him, winning from the beginning to the end, more prepared on clay but unlucky at the Roland Garros since he spent two days to defeat Murray in the semis. Has a better serve and net in 2015.
Not necessarily the greatest peak, he hot pushed to 5 by Simon in the AO, a lot of 4 setters at the FO and he lost early in MC and was destroyed by Murray in Rome, in 2015 he was better, and 2011 he was the best version of himself
Still can't believed he lost to Federer that year.. Almost unbelievable thinking about it right now that we never got to see that 2011 final.. We got 2013 semis which unlikely went to Nadal! Djokovic 2015 is the peak any player would wish to achieve. 4 grandslam finals, 3 grandslam trophies, atp finals champion. Holy shit. The ultimate GOAT. Novak Djokovic 😍❤️💯
Novak played with bad stamina in October 2011. No, 2011 wasn’t the best year. Novak was much more focused and didn’t hit everything so hard and wear down too badly in 2015. It didn’t matter if Fedal got worse. Novak improved his serve.
I think you are right, 2011 was spectacular, but 2015 was something else, he would have the same result if Rafa and Federer were just as strong like in 2011!
If you look at the numbers it has to be 2015 (3 GS wins and 1 GS final, ATP Finals win, 6 masters 1000 titles and 2 more finals). If you look at the quality of tennis 2011 was slightly better. But both season are amazing.
@@Logan00710 What did Roger do in 2015? Wawrinka really? yea he can play well but title contender in every tournament? only just that RG which he played amazing of course. Andy yes but he still didnt get to that level he did in 2016. So realistically not much competition in 2015 for Novak. If only Rafa had been top...
@@Logan00710 federer was weaker in 2015 than in 2011. Federer was also declining from the baseline after 2012. Plus Federer was 34 in 2015 which was the same age Agassi was in 2004 US Open. Yet they call old Agassi weak competition for Federer. If that Agassi was weak, so is Federer in 2015.
2011 he was the fastest, the stronest physically and most agressive. He also had more power in his shots. In 2015 he was worse in all of those aspects, but thanks to working with Becker he improved on serve and net play. He was also smarter with his shot selection played better strategically.
Djokovic 2011 version (until the US Open) would probably be the favorite based on the results of the seasons up to that point. Although both seasons were outstanding, in 2015 his greatest rival and the only one who could beat him multiple times was an aging Federer who although more experienced and better in volleying in comparison with his younger days, he was way past his athletic peak, so he could not defend as well, was less solid from the baseline and was forced to play more aggressively to end the points quickly which resulted in more unforced errors. Nadal was also out of form. On the contrary, in 2011 although Novak won a couple of titles less, he won against a top form Nadal consistently multiple times, even on clay and he won against a top form Federer multiple times as well. So to conclude, in 2015 he was better in terms of consistency since he managed to be fit and play at his best the whole season which led to a couple of more titles, but it seems to me that in 2011 he was better in terms of quality since he won against tougher competition in my opinion, which of course does not undermine the 2015 competition, it was also very tough, just not AS tough as in 2011.
2015 i think, even if it’s true the competition (mainly Rafa and Roger) were stronger in 2011, but I felt Djoko more « in control » in 2015, winning when he wanted to win !
Happy Tree Dubai and Doha are not big tournament and Cincinnati he never had a lot of win, he won the title for the very first time 2 years ago ! The only big lost it’s against Stan in RG
The level of tennis that Djokovic produced in 2011 was out of this world. He surely developed his game in the next four years and also added to his already supreme mental strength. The competition was a bit tougher in 2011. Not sure who would win, both were phenomenal! 🙌🏆
Djokovic 2011 from Australian Open until US Open it's the best Djokovic ever!! More agressive, he defeated Nadal ALL matches that year, extraordinary return, etc Djokovic from Davis Cup 2011 until the end of that season was awful!! Djokovic 2015 was excelent too, but he was at top level ALL that year with a lower level of the circuit (Nadal worst season ever)
His level of play in 2011 at his peak may be the highest in the history of the game. People forget he got hurt at the end of the year after a 64-2 record, one of which was a retirement. Just obscene quality.
2011 Djokovic was aggressive. Unbelievable ball striking. 2015 Djokovic would never make unforced errors. 2015 Djokovic would win in my opinion, he would make 2011 Djokovic play that 1 extra stroke, leading to unforced errors
As a Nole fan following him from 2007, 2015 wins. More complete & mentally & emotionally better. I believe he would know how to play against a player playing like his 2011 self or eventual,y find a way to do so
No just a great start. Highly doubt he maintains that for the rest of the season. Look at what happened in 2019 after AO? He got worse (except Wimbledon but that was close).
2011 was super-impressive with the 3 GS, the dominance over Rafa, and the amazing win streak but I'm going with 2015 because a)He reached all 4 GS finals and took the ATP year-end b)He had more of an aura of invincibility c)He had 4 more years of experience and maturity d)Not sure but I think he had by then taken the lead in the rivalry btw both Rafa and Fed and seemed to have more confidence against both e)The consistency of his length from the back of the court was improved. I was in heaven both seasons and to decide between them is kinda like Sophie's Choice
2011/12 Novak was close to losing in so many games. Definitely Comeback King 👑 2015/16 Novak made 6 GS Finals in a Row, Held All 4 Grand Slams, Absolutely dominated when he won. + beat Nadal at Roland Garros & Fed at Wimbledon again back2back.
2011 saw the best Djokovic we've had, so I'll go with that. He's had a more complete or well-rounded game since 2015, but his level in 2011 was ridiculous. My main metric is his overwhelming victories over Nadal, particularly on clay. It's likely he would have beaten him in the French had Federer not stopped him. Better competition also meant that he needed an even higher level to achieve these kind of feats.
Sumnah Lennon 2015 was without question worse. At least Nadal won RG in 2011 and was making slam and masters finals. Nadal was straight up playing like horsecrap in 2015.
@@ertugrulkorpinar51 Absolutely not. It was only from 2011, Tennis world started noticing Novak and started regarding him among the best. In 2011, Nadal was in quite good form, Federer was somewhere between good and best and another budding player Murray was sneaking in, and Novak absolutely demolished all of them on all the surfaces( except for that 2011 French Open), Nadal even vented out his frustration to the media that he hated facing Novak( as he defeated him in all the finals). Coming back to 2015, only Novak was in good form, Nadal lost his way completely and Murray was nowhere near Djokovic in that season, only Roger gave some competetion to Novak. So, it was obvious that competetion level isn't that huge like back in 2011 and it was easy for Nole to win Grandslams and Majors.
In my mind, Djokovic was more dominant in 2011 due to no injuries on Nadal, Federer and Murray. Against top competition Djokovic went undefeated the whole year until the semifinal of RG. I think Federer did one of his best matches ever to win that semifinal.
2018-2020 Djokovic is even better at Grand Slams than the one of 2011/2015 Winning streaks, Finals won in a row at GS 2011-2012 - 4 titles 2015-2016 - 4 titles 2018-2020 - 5 titles
Of course both have their chances.. If 2011 Novak wins, he'd have absolutely demolished 2015 Novak If 2015 Novak wins, he'd have scraped his way through. 2011 in my opinion was the best level 'he' produced, EVER - there was horrifying defense and attack, those shots were laser like! 2015 Novak is more brains/tactics/physical
2011 Djokovic would smash 2015 Djokovic, that was the best ever version of him,he was playing more aggresively, his backhand was on fire and he was not afraid to take risks and go for his shots,2015 was just better statistically,2015 Djokovic for me played too passively and that's one of the biggest reason why Wawrinka beat him in that French final,2011 Djokovic would have beaten him,it would have been tough but there is no way Wawrinka is beating that 2011 Djokovic,so for me 2011 Djokovic is the best ever!!
I think the 2011 Djokovic was absolutely sensational, in fact he was mad amazing! But the 2015 Djokovic was well-rounded, his mental strength added to his physicality and dynamicism.

I’d say 2011 just for the simple fact that no one saw it coming. Nadal and fed still dominated at the time so Djokovic coming in and doing what he did took a lot of confidence. In 2015 he already had done it before so doing it again was a little less impressive
The 2011 version of Nole in my opinion can beat anyone at their best! The intensity at which he was playing, power in the shots! I'ts almost impossible to sustain for the whole year! Tennis is a combination of power and endurance played over a marathon! Injuries are common and the evolution of the game is the reason Nole now resembles the 2015 version to the all conquering 2011 version. Like many have said the 2015 is the more complete version but my choice is the 2011 Djokovic.
2011: Nadal clueless and toppled over 2015: Federer thrashed everytime on court against Novak( Haters pls don't recall Dubai and Cincinnati...otherwise I will have to tell u guys where the Swiss lost😂😂)
2011 is better because he dominated against top form and healthy Nadal and Federer. In 2015 Nadal had many issues with his game. So i choose 2011 , it was unbelievable.
2011 would beat 2015 but Jan 2016 djokovic would beat them all, his level against Nadal in doha and federer for the first 2 sets at the AO is the highest level of Tennis I've seen
Novak Djokovic 2011 version: The most agressive tennis you'll ever see from any tennis player Novak Djokovic 2015 version: The most complete tennis player you'll every see from any tennis player. 2011 version was absolutely scary and unbelievable AF but 2015 version was complete and therefore a complete player would win anyday over an ultra agressive player.

In terms of his game and level I think 2011 was clearly better, particularly in the first half of the year where he was just playing unbelievable tennis. His serve and volleys are definitely better in 2015-16, but his baseline game was unreal in 2011, and that will always be his bread and butter. His backhand especially was definitely more of a weapon than it is right now. Besides, the Big 4 were in their Peak form during 2011 and beating Prime Nadal 6 times in a row is no mean feat, but in 2015-16, all were out of their forms, so it became easy for Nole to win Grand Slams. He was phenomenal in 2015-16 season, but 2011 season was ruthless. He demolished almost every player. It was only from 2011, Tennis world started noticing Djokovic and started regarding him among the best. I guess he would’ve won the French Open too in 2011, had he made it to Finals, but somehow was stopped by Roger(who played at his absolute best in 2011 French Open)
2015 Djokovic Both are extremely good, but I would go with 2015. 1. More titles and higher win percentage in 2015 (even if by just a bit) 2. He was older in 2015; thus more experience and growing skill 3. Grand slam results were better (he reached final rather than semis in RG + won the other 3 like in both seasons)
I know what point you mean, he has done this shot many times through all these years, that is the ONE shot for a whole career. Alcaraz took the best lesson, few players have the chance to learn.
2015. In my opinion, it's logical, he had all the Grand Slam finals that year (not 2011 where he made half to roland) the masters in 2015 and not in 2011 and 6 masters 1000 out of 9 in 2015 and 1 more title.
2011 Djokovic and 2010 Nadal are in my oppinion highest level of tennis ever. Federer in 2017 highest level on faster surfaces. Its not because i support Djokovic, but his 2011 version i considder to be highest level ever achieved by a tennis player. Not saying he was unbeatable, nobody is, but at their abaolute peaks i think Djokovic just edges Nadal and Federer by a slim margin. Wawrinka and Murray at their peak would push peak Djokovic of 2011 hard but i think he would just outlast them in the end more often than not. He was a physical beast like no other that season. Nadal from 2010 US Open is close, but due to the poor matchup i think Djokovic of 2011 would edge him anywhere except on RG probably. Dont forget, Nadal and Federer were also beasts that season, Nadal in particular, but it was just Djokovic year to shine.
it is very hard to decide who would win between Djoko 2011 and Djoko 2015. But, it is easy to follow that either Djokovic 2011 or Djoko 2015 will crush 2005/2006 Fed and prime Nadal everywhere except on Clay for Nadal

Djokovic entered 12 tournaments, played 11 finals and won 10 titles. He was 20-2 against top 10 players (90.9%). He was also 56-2 in Slams and Masters (96.6%). Both results were better than what he had in 2015. Imagine a player winning 10 titles in 12 tournaments...
2011 was tougher competition too
Completely agree..he suffered injurie after US Open 2011..and didnt manage to come back at the same level. But if we talk about level..2011 definitely.
He had 11:1 against Roger and Rafa
@Shawn yup like when Roger suffered back injurie and came back two months later to win titles
@Shawn back injuries don't last 6 months
@Shawn Shawn, AO is 5 months after USO.He recovered by that time.
Djokovic wins..
Big brain time
First half of 2016 season. Highest peak ElO rating of tennis ever. At that point he was pretty much unplayable.
@Oliver McCall yeah i don't know wtf happened man
He played on painkillers at the end of season so in start of 2017 he had a elbow surgery...
ELO means nothing.
Not necessarily the greatest peak, he hot pushed to 5 by Simon in the AO, a lot of 4 setters at the FO and he lost early in MC and was destroyed by Murray in Rome, in 2015 he was better, and 2011 he was the best version of himself

Federer save Nadal in FO 2011
Still can't believed he lost to Federer that year.. Almost unbelievable thinking about it right now that we never got to see that 2011 final.. We got 2013 semis which unlikely went to Nadal! It's just shows how godly Nadal is on clay when arguable second best play ever on clay just got his second RG this year!

2011. 2015 tbh everyone was playing at a lower level than usual. But 2011 fed nadal all were in their absolute prime and djokovic was just a monster
Novak played with bad stamina in October 2011. No, 2011 wasn’t the best year.
Novak was much more focused and didn’t hit everything so hard and wear down too badly in 2015. It didn’t matter if Fedal got worse. Novak improved his serve.
I would say 6 out of 10 times the 2015 version would win, but it’s pretty even. Depends on the day.
I think you are right, 2011 was spectacular, but 2015 was something else, he would have the same result if Rafa and Federer were just as strong like in 2011!
2011 Djokovic was more aggressive, no one knew how to counter his game that year
2015 Djokovic was the most complete player to ever play the game
Disagree.
Best and most consistent baseline play, but not overall game.
Anyone closest to being the most complete would be Fed’s primes This isn’t be being a fanboy but quoting numerous writers and commentators
Federer did beat him in RG and had MP in US, but I liked the 2011 version better. That DTL backhand was out of the world.
Old Fed beat him 3x, he's not complete

If you look at the numbers it has to be 2015 (3 GS wins and 1 GS final, ATP Finals win, 6 masters 1000 titles and 2 more finals). If you look at the quality of tennis 2011 was slightly better. But both season are amazing.

Dr. Ivo was the only man to beat Djokovic in a tournament that isn't a final
The scariest thing is that he dominated the toughest field ever
I like any year Djokovic finished Number !. He is the best and the best to watch. That's the way, I think, we would all love to play tennis.
2015 i think, even if it’s true the competition (mainly Rafa and Roger) were stronger in 2011, but I felt Djoko more « in control » in 2015, winning when he wanted to win !
Because Roger and Rafa werer worse in 2015 lol

The level of tennis that Djokovic produced in 2011 was out of this world. He surely developed his game in the next four years and also added to his already supreme mental strength. The competition was a bit tougher in 2011. Not sure who would win, both were phenomenal! 🙌🏆
2011 for sure
2023 Djokovic would break both these versions of Djokovic mentally and win and you know it
Djokovic 2011 from Australian Open until US Open it's the best Djokovic ever!! More agressive, he defeated Nadal ALL matches that year, extraordinary return, etc
Djokovic from Davis Cup 2011 until the end of that season was awful!!
Djokovic 2015 was excelent too, but he was at top level ALL that year with a lower level of the circuit (Nadal worst season ever)
Djokovic 2015-16: the best Season ever of a tennis player. Numbers show that.
No, Federer 2005 and 2006 seasons are both better 😎
His level of play in 2011 at his peak may be the highest in the history of the game. People forget he got hurt at the end of the year after a 64-2 record, one of which was a retirement.
Just obscene quality.
2015 I will say... he was at peak of his power!! 2011 athletic. 2015 over all game called mastery...

Coming back to 2015, only Novak was in good form, Nadal lost his way completely and Murray was nowhere near Djokovic in that season, only Roger gave some competetion to Novak. I’d say 2011 just for the simple fact that no one saw it coming. Nadal and fed still dominated at the time so Djokovic coming in and doing what he did took a lot of confidence. In 2015 he already had done it before so doing it again was a little less impressive

Both are extremely good, but I would go with 2015.
1. More titles and higher win percentage in 2015 (even if by just a bit)

3. Grand slam results were better (he reached final rather than semis in RG + won the other 3 like in both seasons)
