Hello, I'm from Florida and I'll be in sand point mid August. I really want to try fishing this lake while I'm visiting. The video was informative but can you give me any tips on a good base setup. Thanks for any help
Amazing day of fishing!! I’ve been looking for a good shore spot to take my son out. Any chance you can send me that area? Thank you so much in advance!
I would keep the first one. Maybe I need a North Idaho attitude adjustment 🤔 Nice to here from a local boy! I grew up fishing browns. My favorites. From my childhood I guess.
at that time in October rainbows were spawning , I felt the first one may have been a female loaded with eggs. Better safe than sorry. Enjoy Idaho and its many wonderful destinations!
Nice fish! My wife and I just went there today and tried fishing from the other side of the river by the boat launch ramp across the street from Ace Hardware. How did you access that side of the river?
I am new to the area. I checked out the area today and did not see how you access the river from by the bowling alley. It looked very steep. Is there a trail somewhere that doesn't say private property or no trespassing ?
@@outdoordestinationspnw8486 thanks I use to go to school in Newport I live in BC now I head down there in June usually and fish for bass didn't know there were trout that big in there iv heard stories about giants at the dam any stories I head about huge suckers there do you know true not true?
Great video dude! The Pend Oreille is my new front yard and I Am the worst fisherman ever but I love it.I fished every day for a good long time intermittently off the coast of southern California and I never catch anything.I am a real fisherman at heart I'm just doing it wrong.I fish everyday as close to 4 PM till I have to go in and i have continued my long standing tradition of not getting a fishing license cuz i dont really need one cuz i never catch shxt. So thank you for the last 3 min of this video where you explain what you're using.Any further advice basic or otherwise on what to use and how to use it would be cool.
Our first tip is to get a license. better safe than sorry. I have caught fish there trolling in a boat, casting from the bank, I think its best to use lures in the area from Kelly island to the dam. Good luck, Keep trying!
In all my years fishing the pend oreille river I have caught only one pike and this happened while I was fishing for trout. I understand the better pike fishing is further downstream past Kelly island.
@@outdoordestinationspnw8486 Oh I see, I mistaken the bridge for the one at Usk. Now I now where your at. Recognize the water tower now lol. Great catches, I need to make my way there some time. Thanks for the reply.
Great video 🐟🦆
Enjoyed your video. May I suggest a catch and cook video too? Would like to see how you prep and cook. Thanks

It’s called a fishing license not a catching license.
were you using a St. Croix rod?
no, its actually a Daiwa rod with a Shakespeare spin cast reel. 6 pound test.
where is this? like is it near sandpoint or what?
Nice rainbow but your drag is so loose I had to turn the volume down. PLEASE tighten your drag!!!
Where on the Big P are you?
Below albeni falls dam. uploading recent video today.

Has the pike population dropped on the river ?
In all my years fishing the pend oreille river I have caught only one pike and this happened while I was fishing for trout. I understand the better pike fishing is further downstream past Kelly island.
