Jimi Hendrix died in 1970 at the age of just 27 years old. His influence is as strong today as it was then. I am a black drummer age 65 playing in a Hendrix tribute band and it's magical. Jimi Hardin
I'm a 24 year old Black man and I listen to and play his songs on the guitar when I have a moment to myself. As influential as ever. Keep on rockin, sir.
Hendrix was not a guitar player, he was a Steel String Violinist and his fingers were the bows. BTW the woman is the worst reaction podcaster ever. LMFAO
Hey beautiful lady you've just witnessed one of the greatest guitarist to ever walk the face of this Earth rest in peace the one and only Jimi Hendrix 🎛️😩🎸🎛️
Yes his first album Jimi Hendrix experience came out when I was in high school and I he was very inspirational He helped Inspired me to build my first Wawa pedal from a kit Besides that jump into the Jimi Hendrix rabbit hole you will be amazed at everything he’s done
How much of the magic of his sound is lost in the true bypass wiring buffers and switches of today I wonder. It's just so raw and squealchy with feedback and yet so controlled...how?! Didn't the signal go through everything start plug to end in these days?
And he had to go to England to make it cause in America for some reason, but my guess would be race, it just wasn't taking off in the states. And in London he received the respect he deserved. Yeah America will push and promote trash like Mikey cyrus or Katy Perry but ignore the likes of hendrix. It's called dumbing down and it's in full effect.
The whole (95% anyway) concert is on DVD. "Jimi plays Monterey" is a must have for any Hendrix fan. Informative documentary included with Denny Dent speed painting Hendrix!!!!
I watch all the reactions to this song. I'm stuck on it and have no need to watch his other songs although I have watched some. I see something new each time. My favorite "hey joe" version is the black and white German TV show video. I had a lucid dream of him when I was 14 that has stayed with me for decades. I wasn't even that into his music back then because young pimply teenage annoying white stoner boys had cornered that market. I loved old time blues and i didn't know blues were jimi's roots. He had played with the greats. He was a very intelligent man and a good son, there's an interview with his dad on UA-cam. Jimi plays acoustic guitar, a blues song, in a UA-cam video. White background. His clothes are amazing. His sense of style, wow.
Thank you for your reaction to this great live Hendrix track! Sadly, Jimi is a member of the 27 club, dying when he was so young, RIP. One day you should consider reacting to his song "The Wind Cried Mary". For more black artists singing please consider The Fifth Dimension with "One Less Bell To Answer", The Four Tops with "Reach Out I'll be There", The Temptations with "Ain't To Proud To Beg" and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles with "The Tracks of My Tears"! Continued success to you on your excellent channel!
I am so glad for you, because you have found him. Jimi was initially very shy and thought that he had a bad singing voice. Beautiful isn't it? Deep, dark, and earthy. Jimi is playing with his teeth. He will also tongue the strings. Jimi can also play the guitar over his head, between his legs, and behind his back effortlessly. Note that he has a right handed guitar turned upside down and strung to play left hand. He is a genius. Nobody like him before or after his death in 1970 at age 27. Light years ahead of any other guitarist. Many disciples like SRV, and Prince, but Jimi is the real deal. GUITAR GOD!!!!! Next stop? Jimi Hendrix, Johnny B Goode, Berkeley. This performance is a cross between a guitar, the song Johnny B Goode, and an express train flat out. Chuck Berry, who wrote the song, said that Jimi quote, 'Played the living crap out of the song.' On stage with a guitar in hand Jimi is a beast, but off stage he is a cool, mellow, chilled out dude, with impeccable manners, somewhat shy and retiring. Jimi died in 1970 in suspicious circumstances. I wept and wept at his loss. The greatest and most talented musician of a century. I will never see his like again in my lifetime. Up in Heaven now with Noel and Mitch playing to God and the Angels. What a trio they have. Unbelievable, yes? When he arrived in the UK I saw him at Regents Polytechnic where he plugged into Jack Bruce's bass amplifier and played Howlin' Wolfs Killing Floor. My God.....both my life and Eric Clapton's life were never the same again! Jimi and his guitar were one, absolutely one. Never have I seen anything like him in 50 years since his death. I was hooked then, and I still am.
You picked a great one. Jimi Hendrix is the greatest guitarist of all time. Your reaction to him playing with his teeth is the same as every other reactor. Did you notice he was playing a right handed guitar left handed and also chewing gum. No he died in 1970 from a drug overdose at the age of 27. He's buried in Greenwood cemetery in Renton,Washington. Look up the memorial his father had built its beautiful.
Underneath all of that hyperamplification and the wah-wah pedal effects, what Jimi Hendrix was literally playing there were Muddy Waters-style blues licks. If you listen to the actual notes themselves without the extensive electricity, you can clearly hear that they're the same licks as in a tune like Muddy Waters's ""Still a Fool/Two Train Blues": ua-cam.com/video/vd1IOcdY9KM/v-deo.html
Sadly jimi died in london in 1970. His career was very short but in that time he basically revolutionised the guitar. No one ever has or probably ever will surpass this mans genius.
Loved your reaction. Don't know if you noticed but he was also chewing gum while performing. Also another black musician you could react to is Chuck Berry
A lot of folks say SRV is the GOAT. This was his inspiration. When Hendrix first appeared in London, Pete Townsend was there. After watching he called Eric Clapton and said "We're f&cked!". You just watched the greatest ever. OD'd at 27. RIP
Yes... Jimi Hendrix changed everything about guitar. Such a terrible loss. His image, guitar skills, and overall performances have placed him as one of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century. Cheers cutie😉
2:55 Although it may seem like it, at that moment, Jimmy is not making any obscene gesture. In fact, he is indicating to a sector of the crowd that the solo that comes next is going to be executed with his tongue. It was something that he had done on previous occasions and that his fans demanded it from him... Ohhh...I´m missing... That gum he's apparently chewing is most likely a slip of LSD.
Hey loveth! Watch that whole performance, if you haven't already. He was 24 when he played Monterey. A true innovator, & my favorite guitarist. Actually, the Monterey movie itself, is worth watching. It was the first rock festival, ever.
It only just beat the Isle of Wight festival by about 10 months, and crucially most of the English festivals are still going strong. Monteray was only one year. So as they say, it ain't where you start its where you finish. Also by the time that north America discovered hendrix he'd been a big deal in England for a good while.
@user-xd5pr4qd4z Yes, he started with Mitch Michell & Noel Redding in England. Put together by Chas Chandler of The Animals. I know all about it. I even met Noel. You might still have music festivals, but the music isn't as good as it was then. & Monterey was 67, Isle of Wight was 70. In my opinion, Isle, was one of The Who's best live performances.
There is no black man there hun. There is only Jimi Hendrix, the best guitar player ever until the end of time and then some. Only black people see a black man, we only see a young man with a phenomenal gift.
Too bad video cut short. He rolls a couple somersaults while playing then sets his guitar alight then smashes to pieces and then throws the pieces into the audience. I'm totally serious! Watch the complete video! Amazing! 😅
You never heard about Jimi playing with his teeth/tongue? Unfortunately he’s no longer with us. He was playing a show and he was electrocuted on stage, in front of a live audience while playing guitar with his teeth. I can’t believe you’ve never heard that story. 🤷♂
Playing with his teeth was NOT made him great. Jimi had lots of flash when he was on stage, but his genius was his mind and endless creativity.. Only one Jimi, and I`m not saying guitar but a total musician.
jimi was by far the greatest guitarist. the guitar was an extention of his body and soul
Jimi Hendrix died in 1970 at the age of just 27 years old. His influence is as strong today as it was then. I am a black drummer age 65 playing in a Hendrix tribute band and it's magical. Jimi Hardin

Jimi lives thru us all brother music is the key to unlock every closed door
You didn't notice the guitar was a right-handed guitar upside down played left-handed! There will never be another Jimi.
This guy came from another planet to show us how to play a guitar.
Grew up 25 miles south of where Jimi grew up and had a very hard time at the start of college in 70 with his passing at 27 years old.
The greatest that ever did it! Jimi was and still is the GOAT!
Hendrix was not a guitar player, he was a Steel String Violinist and his fingers were the bows. BTW the woman is the worst reaction podcaster ever. LMFAO
The best guitar player of all time remember that
Hey beautiful lady you've just witnessed one of the greatest guitarist to ever walk the face of this Earth rest in peace the one and only Jimi Hendrix 🎛️😩🎸🎛️
Only 3 years in industry, until now 2023 Jimi GOAT 🎸🎸🎸💪🙏
Jimi made love to that guitar!
Hahaha, u happened to witness toyr first black man as the greatest guitar God ever!
You're in for a great great treat. The man had it all in every way possible.. Enjoy. he is one of a kind. Great commentary also. All the best to you.
Hendrix. One of my all time favorites. We missed out on a lot of great music he would have made if he had not died so young.
Jimi is the greatest ever!
Jimi was the most revolutionary musician of the twentieth century. Buy all of his CDs.
Amazing legend of all time!
Yes his first album Jimi Hendrix experience came out when I was in high school and I he was very inspirational
He helped Inspired me to build my first Wawa pedal from a kit

Jim Morrison sang the line," music is your only friend..until the end". Jimi Hendrix has been a life long friend of mine. Stay safe !
Jimmy! Always my FAVORITE!!! Always always!
I'm so glad the first time you've seen a black man play the guitar and sing was Jimi Hendrix. The Master! The GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)!
Bingo! Beatifull músic! Beatifull lady! Moore Jimmy please!
Hello dear Lady. Iam Jimi fan for long long time. And happy that's it;s power reached you now. Dig deeper, you will be even more pleaesd. And proud!
Hendrix was one of the greats! Superb guitarist! Thanks Loveth!!! 😊🌹🌹🌹
No doubt!
Every guitarist in London wanted to be him :)
Oh - and of course, he played a right-handed guitar upside-down.
And every guitarist in america wanted to play that primitive clichéd boring as hell country music garbage.
The whole (95% anyway) concert is on DVD. "Jimi plays Monterey" is a must have for any Hendrix fan. Informative documentary included with Denny Dent speed painting Hendrix!!!!
Thanks for that.
No one will ever come close to Jimi, he was the coolest guy ever.
It’s life changing for you. You’ll never be the same.
Jimmy passed at the age of 27 in September 1970. 🙏
“Greatest of all”.
Yeah pretty accurate.

Huge thnx. Luv your presentation style. Huge thnx from Romania ❤
Awesome thank you!!! This was his first concert in America with his group the Experience, so your reaction is pretty much what everyone was doing😀😀😀
I watch all the reactions to this song. I'm stuck on it and have no need to watch his other songs although I have watched some. I see something new each time.

Many people have described Jimi Hendrix as the greatest guitarist in the world, ever. I do not disagree.
If you took a poll I guarantee you Mr Hendrix will win 30 times over if all the people knew of him
Yes…with his tongue
Jimi the goat

The baddest electric cat of them all..

A great, all black rock band I think you would enjoy is Living Colour. Check out the video for their song Cult of Personality, it awesome!
@Trevon Womack I say all black rock band because quite literally every member is black. Nothing to read into here.

Please don't stop the video in the middle of the solo in the future. Tnx
That's the sad part..he is no longer with us😔
Jimi was fantastic...gone too early
His teeth playing with his teeth
There is no black man there hun. There is only Jimi Hendrix, the best guitar player ever until the end of time and then some. Only black people see a black man, we only see a young man with a phenomenal gift.
So Listen to the Black punk Rock Band,, Bad Brains,, (tx,. Big take over.. At CBGB, s, or other Videos...

Unfortunately he’s no longer with us. He was playing a show and he was electrocuted on stage, in front of a live audience while playing guitar with his teeth. I can’t believe you’ve never heard that story. 🤷♂
Check out Stevie Wonder ...Superstisious
He's playing with his teeth
His teeth ,don't pause it .
Playing with his teeth was NOT made him great. Jimi had lots of flash when he was on stage, but his genius was his mind and endless creativity.. Only one Jimi, and I`m not saying guitar but a total musician.
It's really a shame that you had to go back 50 years before you saw a black singer...shameful!!
