Jimi is THE MAN. I discovered him in the mid 80s. I am in my early 50s now, I bought my cassette of I think it was Jimi' Hendrix greatest of best of or anthology. This was the 1st song I heard and I was SOLD. I love everything about this man, he gives off excellent vibes. I always say if I grew up in the 60s I still would be a Hendrix follower.
loved your reaction. thank-you from a very old canadian boomer. after all these decades, i still have a very visceral, almost physical reaction to to my jimi. all my passwords are variations on his name. birthdate, fav song titles, etc. it does my heatr so much good, seeing young people discover him for the 1st time and be blown away. you really seem to actually GET jimi. raw talent, no autotune and any of the newer electronics. btw, i do also enjoy music fr recent times as well
That was so much fun - watching you discover his brilliance. Dylan was an idol of his - and gave him the courage to sing (he thought he had a terrible voice). Check out his cover of All Along the Watchtower - fantastic! He left us much too soon.
Jimi grew up in Seattle, my home town, my old keyboard player used to play with Jimi in high school, and I know Jimis' brother Leon Hendrix, he still plays out. Great reaction, do yourself a big favor, order Jimi Hendrix CD Are You Experienced? classic must have for collection. How about "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" by Elvin Bishop Band, live on Midnight Special, fire!
The solos are bad ass for sure, but that rhythm playing throughout the song, while kind of subtle until you focus on it, is so amazingly cool and opened the eyes of pretty much every guitarist since. Jimi was the cosmic master, a natural artist that changed everything after him. Anyway, thanks man! Oh, by the way, a cool thing to do would be to listen to Chuck Berry doing Johnny B Goode live, then hear Jimi do it live about ten years later, you'll see how things changed when Jimi came around. Been trying to get a reactor to do those back to back....
While it's true that he was a great guitarist and could do some trick moves like mouth and like a few others...behind the back playing! BUT Before crowning him or anyone else the GOAT...Check out several others and see what they can do! One major to check out is Eddie Van Halen's Eruption and see some playing that left a few of the Giants in AWE !! There's also a special Clapton solo that's amazing itself!!
He's chewing gum, playing with his teeth. And if that's not enough he's playing a right handed guitar left handed upside down. Jimi plays the guitar like it owes him money! Sadly he now belongs to the "27" club.
Not impressive ? Are you crazy ? Have you listened to Voodoo Chile and Machine Gun ? There's no musicians out there nowadays that even come close ! It's all auto tune these days anyway.
JIMI is the final MONSTER😂AN ALIEN! Not coming from our galaxy😂It's absolutely not a good performance, compared to what he did on stage or in studio😂So, just, imagine, what he was able to do....My master....Peace from France ✌️
Yes, in 1967 we watched this and said just that, "What did I just witness?" and here we are in 2024 and minds are still being blown.
Not
@@virtuosodm3327 uh?
He's the greatest guitarist of all time. I was privileged to see him perform in toronto in 1969.
Nowhere close to being the greatest
@@virtuosodm3327 Exactly right. Much too narrow a description.
Paul McCartney said Jimmy was the greatest guitarist.. when he saw him live in a nightclub in England 🇬🇧 😍😮

Jimi made everything seem effortless,it was like he was making love to his guitar, amazing talent!
The guitar was a part of jimi. He fucked the audience with his guitar
No one will ever come close to Jimi, he was the coolest guy ever.

Check out Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child Live at Woodstock. That is another great performance by Jimi.
🎉gotta watch a Slash tribute to the artist and song at the 2005 British music awards. WORTHY tribute to Jimi.
that's why the ladies loved him. Guitar God
Jimi my favourite 4 ever 🎸🤘🥰💓👌🙏🙏🙏
"What am I witnessing?" is exactly what all of us Boomers said first time we saw Hendrix.
You were witnessing a once in a century talent. I'm so jealous I wasn't around when he was out there making records.
That was so much fun - watching you discover his brilliance. Dylan was an idol of his - and gave him the courage to sing (he thought he had a terrible voice). Check out his cover of All Along the Watchtower - fantastic! He left us much too soon.
Did you notice that Jimmy, who is right-handed is playing a left-handed guitar? ✌️
No Hendrix was left handed and played a right handed guitar upside down
Thanks my friend, I am new here and loved watching that with you! 😀

Le plus grand, uun génie !
Your family is two for two, my man!!!
I of the greatest guitar players
we call it talent.

Im old and we werent butt hurt over words way back.
Please consider the version of this song by the "greatest player you never heard of" -- Roy Buchanan. He was on the same level as Hendrix.
Noel redding and Mitch mitchel
hendrix was crazy, full of drugs, but this time, this century, was the best ever in history, even in austria europe

Jimi smoked them all
Not with his mouth, with his teeth.
Why cant you say that?
He's chewing gum, playing with his teeth. And if that's not enough he's playing a right handed guitar left handed upside down. Jimi plays the guitar like it owes him money! Sadly he now belongs to the "27" club.
Maybe somewhat impressive back in the day of " rock" guitar, but not at all nowadays, Artistically, skillfully etc...m
