COD MW2 - What Happens If You Don't Protect The Washington Monument?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 тра 2018
- Ever wondered what happens if you don't protect the civilian evac site on the mission Of Their Own Accord? Well it turns out there's a whole mini subplot written into that scene if you protect it. A lot of it was cut from the final game it seems, but it can still be found in the game files.

if you think so, it's really sad even though it's a game.
Bruh I watch this video at night and that scars the crap out of me. Having to use civilians to hold them off is desperate.
Yeah, they probably let the devs go out wild.
Even an animator i know well added some little bits and pieces extra to the game, to make it feel more alive.

It's chilling that in the very last sequence where the enemy troops are inside the evac site, you hear a very distinct and close by M9 firing. The guy manning the radio was literally screaming over the radio while firing his pistol at incoming Russians at the same time.

It’s the USP that’s firing, IIRC only the Spetsnaz use it in the MW2 campaign...

This is more disturbing to me then No Russian was
Like he sounded so sad... kinda like he gives up after a while
If this is more disturbing than shooting unarmed and innocent civilians at an airport then that means you’re extremely desensitized to violence as a whole.
Crazimo no because you didn’t have to actually play the mission. You can skip it. If these were left in some people would have to hear it.
xd Blanket Everyone played it though. Everyone knows about No Russian. Is not playing a mission supposed it invalidate its content or something? You see, what you just gave me was a flawed argument. It doesn’t do anything to disprove the point I made.
Tell any random person with no experience in the CoD franchise about these two things and ask what they find more disturbing, guarantee most people will say massacring an airport is worse.
Crazimo Wouldn’t it just make more sense to call it even at both are disturbing to the common people? Yeah, it’s pretty F’d up to have a mission where you gun down defenseless civilians in cold blood like No Russian but when you’re playing as someone like Ramirez whose goal is to protect the city and the civilians who live there, you get both sides of the picture. And the part where Overlord is saying how civilians are having to take up arms against highly trained killing machines like the invading Russian army, it makes sense to get the chills because your imagination takes it to a level so highly messed up that it could make someone sick. Personally, I wasn’t offended by either No Russian or these cut dialogue quotes because I think both were written in a great way to really kick start the story line in an awesome direction after CoD 4. Everyone has an opinion, much like how everyone has an asshole. He felt these quotes were more disturbing than No Russian, and you felt No Russian was more disturbing. And myself? I think that Loose Ends was the most disturbing because there is no way in hell that Shepherd didn’t shoot through the ASM when he shot Roach. So the flawed logic was most disturbing for me. Now we’ve all said our piece. Let’s just enjoy the awesome trivia of these cut quotes and imagine how different the game would’ve been had they kept them in.

I'm not the type of man that can be disturbed easily, in the No Russian mission I didn't felt anything weird or special, but this is just an extremely unsettling scenario. Some say that because you don't see it it doesn't has the same impact, but just hearing it, for me is worst because you can imagine. The voice actor did a really good job in being calm to going in absolute despair, especially after the part of the civilians taking arms. MW2 may have a incoherent story or whatever, but the details are amazing.
Same heat I not disturbed very easily but the voice line. Jeez. And I watch it at light.
That's because you have to imagine it instead of seeing it. When you play No Russian, you're seeing civilians die but they're all polygons and coding. You just honestly feel like you're playing a game.
Hearing the civilians literally suffering and dying as the evac site gets turned into an American slaughterhouse is actively making you imagine what's going on inside. You're imagining it with real people, which is a frightening thought to have in your head.
you're so coldblooded and cool
@@landlockedcroat1554 I wasn't saying it that way, it's just that fiction violence, gore, etc doesn't do anything to me. Except this one video.
I saw you responded to a recent comment so I'll add to your original post.
I don't think it helps that all the Russian speaking in No Russian is muted and quiet. So all the civilian, security and FSB lines don't stick out to the player. It just sounds like more gibber-gabber that's easy to filter out. But here and the radio playing constantly broadcasting in your ears up front at you, screaming for help and putting the thought that you aren't doing enough to help.
If you "don't do enough" on No Russian the mission just keeps playing on like a cutscene. *You don't really DO anything.* At least not until you fight the FSB. So you can finish No Russian thinking to yourself, "I'm damn near a saint next to those guys." And continue on the campaign, essentially washing your hands of the objective. Again, in Of Their Own Accord. You HAVE to give your all or those people will die and it will be *YOUR fault*.
That's just my idea of why I felt more here than No Russian. Because I had similar feelings.
Who else thought the monument would fall down?

Me and it would be better if we have a Russia campaign to see the deference and to see more clearly the enemy strategy
This ain't battlefield 4
@Vengeful Archangel Wtf dude

Anti World are you ok?
Yeah that sounds bad to say.
At least they decided to arm themselves to protect themselves and their loved ones, instead of waiting to be taken hostage or gunned down.
You can clearly hear the fighting get closer and closer to the radio, at first it's far away, then to the end it's like right around the corner and you can also hear the radio operator get more and more scared and panicked as the dialogue goes on. The audio team in this game did an iconic job.
right before he screamed “noooo”, we can hear pistol shots in the background. Most likely he’s on a last stand or something.

It's so chilling, hearing the guys voice go from calm to worried to scared to terrified....Although to be honest him shouting "Noooo!" in the end kind of felt a bit meh.
I think that if the "Nooo!" Would be cut off mid-sentence it'd make it much more better. Still, great detail and highly immersive.
Yeah the "Nooooooo!" did feel rather out of place. It probably would have worked better if it just cut off with sounds of gunfire. BUT, the sequence of the voice lines is still very well done. I haven't played this game and clicked in the video randomly but I'm glad I did, I have a soft spot for moments in games that consider alternative player choices that aren't part of the main narrative.
Idk why I'm typing this all out.Have a good Christmas.

Gotta love the old cod game, the newer game were shit
aldo s It really sends in so much fear.
Oran Cassidy you have a good point right there
But what if that was the revenge action of "No Russian"?
Even if what you wrote is the norm and the fact in reality, the fact in the hypothetical warzone in MW2 might be not quite the same.
This was just my thought on what if they were not affected by those Geneva convention
MW2 had this crazy intense vibe to it that made you feel like you were in this real war, like you were a soldier fighting for your life and those around you, at least during the Ranger missions (or usmc in cod4).
U weren't a fictional character with a name and a backstory inevitably meant to save the world, you were a soldier taking up arms to defend your country, and that was first and foremost.
Made me wanna play the game as if I were there, and not just run and gun on regular difficulty.
Oran Cassidy Geneva convention goes out the window as soon as people choose not to follow it. And there is a lot of precedent for massacres of civilians. Check out the Japanese invasion of China for a modern look at the atrocities invading armies can commit. Also if the situation is dire enough, civilians are encouraged to defend themselves.
The civilians taking arms reminded me of the German civilians during the last days of WWII, The Wehrmacht was in a desperate situation and needed any help. It was to the point where they had to arm anyone who can handle a gun, even if they were untrained.
Jojo Rabbit made an excellent satirical, metacommentary on that desperation
Just think. There really is REAL audio recordings I’m sure, of situations like this from troops that were in any of the Wars that’ve occurred so far that are kept away from public ears. Great job on the actors for giving a real sense of danger to the player. Should’ve added this into the game somehow
Not really, civilians normally get evacuated, maybe in syria or lybia this could have happened
@@esequieltrindade9244 “there really is real audio” is implying that somewhere this type of audio exist,

And because of this, I never let that evac site down. Because I’m afraid that scared voice is gonna haunt me till death
When he says they lost the civies I can hear the anguish with subtle level of sadness masked with undying rage. It’s only possible that someone can only compartmentalize and firmly give communication of a dire struggle for so long before panic and terror sets in. Yet no frustration only resolve. Just a true legend. I know the thought is COD is just a stereotypical “shoot the badguys” fps but the campaigns have always had a strong story especially during the late 2000s

@Prixon Priz And yet No Russian was released completely uncensored and MW2 didn't get completely banned did it,i'm sure a few dialouges wouldn't do more harm to the rating than No Russian did
Prixon Priz I believe it is because the vast majority of players wouldn't even hear it since they wouldn't sit here and wait.
I highly doubt a game will get a worse rating because a guy on a radio says civilians are fighting back. I swear there's a Call of duty game that shows civilians fighting back and they aren't banned. I could picture the scenario in my head, a blood bath like the no russian mission. Realistically Russian assault would not be executing civilians as its a war crime with bigger reprecussions on the world stage. The Russians in the game would be following a massive economic crash that would bankrupt the federation from unilateral sanctions.
IN BACON WE TRUST It happened a lot in WWII, especially for the German civilians that were often brutally beaten and raped after German defenses fell, I doubt the Russian Federation would be much more merciful.

Where he says" I'm looking at fighter jets over I-35" "how the hell did they get in?!?"you can here the panic in his voice and the air raid sirens going off it's really disturbing . Probably because you can only imagine what's happening on the other line and the horrors occurring .
Rangers? The troops at the evac site are probably just regular army forces.
Otto von Bismarck could be any military forces considering the entire eastern seaboard was being invaded
I think the monument has more impact because you know there’s a good chance that there were children at that evac since it was a surprise invasion

*some.*
Yeah just a *tad bit*
@@rabbit3734 Well if I was a Russian i will execute US civilians too. Arrogant mother fuckers.
We Wuzz Kaves John they were firing HE shells in the building, yeah they are desd
“WE LOST THE CIVIES ,NOOOOOO” I definitely felt that
I did this in the remastered, they have the same lines, but the dialogue stops after after the civilians take arms.
Why can’t I shake off the feeling that there was some sort of motivation (almost certainly a political one) behind that? (-_-)
@@matthewgaviola8885 The COD games were never the most envelope pushing games
They more than likely cut the voice lines because they were just too disturbing and also for technical purposes.
Several voice lines a majority of players will never stick around long enough to hear weren’t worth coding into the game and were accidentally left in the game files for launch
They literally kept No Russian in the game and made several more games depicting terrorist attacks and the Holocaust. Political correctness isn’t really a concern for the executives or devs.
@@matthewgaviola8885 ...ok?
The Civilian screams just adds to the dire situation.
I feel bad for the radio voice actor, he did a superb job with this, and we are some of the only people to hear this. Harrowing performance. Personally i wouldn't have gone for the cliché "NOOOO" at the end, maybe just have him stop transmitting mid-sentence to join the fight, and then..silence. Still, great stuff.
Why feel bad he still got paid
If you pay attention, he screamed no while shooting his pistol at his enemy.
@@TheIndogamer true, he does
@@Cacowninja it should have been "NOO..." and he gets shot
personally I dont think its out of place if you use your imagination a bit ( which you should be doing since its just radio messages). i imagine since the enemy troops are in the evac site, they probably just shot up a bunch of civilians, and when he says the "nooo!" they probably just busted into the area he was in and he watched them slaughter everyone in the room before dying.
James Charles is beautiful
Jake uriah best. fucking. comment.

oh that's Fucked up. I love it
Tragic how YT automatically deletes specifically hateful comments. Tragic how the first amendment is being destroyed. Juliet Charlie isnt even a good person; but to criticize is a hate crime. Hate crimes are punishable by law. To criticize is against the law. Yet we dont care. We feel no anger. Drugs and propaganda have weathered and eroded our once great pride for liberty. What happened? Where did we go wrong? Whats become of us? Governments of tyranny used to be deliberate and head on with its oppression. But in the age of proxy wars, the people are against the people while the wolves pick and prod, stoking the flames of our ignorance, arrogance, and futilities.

hearing that soldier screaming "NOOOOOOO!" gives me chills
I find this more disturbing than the no russian mission
Yung lobster Same
Killa Cam Irdk but No Russian felt like a normal mission after this..
Yung lobster you got the point and i agree
Well, in No Russian, you kill Russian civilians.
Here however, you hear American soldiers and civilans screaming on the radio.
So yeah, sympathy for your own.
As much as we try to deny it. The more similar we are to someone, the more we care about them.
Dragutin the Slav- Veliki No Russian's plenty disturbing too. The radio guy just made it more disturbing I think...
That line about the Civilians taking arms to fight back is a lot more disturbing when you couple it with the fact that there are a few Technical wreckages in the Washington levels.
AzelfandQuilava What do you mean ?
i think he tried to said that they civies try to fight back the russian so that why there is civies truck armed with m2 browning if you pay attention you will see their wreckages laying around the map
“Civilians taking up arms”.
That’s a good way to get yourself relabeled from a non-combatant to a cleared to engage hostile.
Imagine listening to this from a real radio of a situation actually going on and not being able to do anything able it. Chilling.
My heart was beating faster as the guy in the radio started to sound distress. This happens irl everyone...it’s terrifying.

What if one guy survived, but then he heard someone whisper... *NO RUSSIAN*
it would be his nightmare ever
manman 07 no Russian doesn’t refer to leaving no Russian survivors it refers to not speaking the Russian language so that they could blame the airport attacks on the U.S.

The one where they removed mod tools?
“These Civilians are totally untrained!”
The Boog Broskies roll in on their clapped out trucks, blasting Fortunate Son, shooting their modded out ARs.
“This is Whiskey Mike. Situation has improved. Over”
The boog broskies are, if we're being totally honest, only a little more trained than the civilians in the video. They just have a lot more confidence.
” the civilians are arming them selfes and their totally untrained”
And with all the screams in the backround hit me hard.
Jesus it sounds like the guy on the mic had to hold off the enemy himself with a handgun at the end. Rip
Seth Coffey not just any handgun, but a usp45. That is sad.

D. Ramirez you should have tried harder
More he had a million jobs. Ramirez, do everything we fucking tell you.
Mission Failed....We'll get'em next time.
In my opinion, I think Ramirez and his squad were dead already by the time the evac site went down to 50 percent effectiveness. :/
Tbh I expected the guy on the radio to just keep on telling you "We need more support" and all that, but it actually got way more dramatic with his voice raising and the background noises. I suspected nothing to change for the background, but instead it just got chilling. Near the end of losing the civilians, you actually can hear pistols going off, presumably to me, execution of the civilians. This honestly got chilling and scary. F to pay respects.
The sound of the pistol fired is so loud tho, i guess the man on radio pick a pistol and start firing

What does "chilling" means? Wasnt it to relax? To chill
Mr Doge he probably means thrilling but idk
Mr Doge bone-chilling is what he means, terrifying
When he's voice gets more and more desperate, those screams and gunshots... It was just scary. And when he says that the enemies are in the evac site, I think I heard a pistol firing. Maybe he's one?
