This mission is haunting. Every time I listen to the radio chatter it hurts listening to how the situation is getting worse and worse. But listening to each call for support or desperate cry for help does cause me to fight even harder to try and save as many as I can. Honestly this is one of the most powerful missions in Call of Duty and is one of those that gets me invested more than others. A top pick for favorite missions from me.

Back when soldiers looked like generic soldiers of their factions. You can immediately tell what side they're on without a second thought. I miss it

I loved in the Remaster how they increased the volume and captioned the audio of the Evac site's and others' radio chatter. All the chatter about civilian evacuation efforts failing, helicopters being shot down, and units being overrun really adds to the drama and urgency of the mission. All of this audio was too quiet to hear in the original, but Beenox recognized that and knocked it out of the park. My favorite mission of all time in CoD.
It's muricans, so not dramatic at all.
In the original Wade kinda just suddenly and randomly realizes Ramirez woke up.
In the remaster you can see him glance back every few seconds, he already knew Ramirez was alive and intended to get him armed the second he woke up
The bunker is cool but the reveal of the National Mall on fire as you emerge is shocking and breathtaking
Dude the original Modern Warfare trilogy just reminds me of how afraid Infinityward is of conflicts of global scale out of fear of it making one side look too bad. It was even set up so well too. The CIA is blamed for a massacre which tears relations and leads to a war between Russia and the U.S. Yea it had its holes but it at least tried to create an interesting conflict. The spec ops stuff they've been doing recently is cool but it still doesn't compare to the spectacle of World War 3 that these games depicted. God I wish they would just grow a pair and tell a war story where I play as a faceless, voiceless marine. Just another soldier in the front lines.

The spec ops is getting stale tbh. You just have a squad fighting against massive armies behind enemy lines and they come out unscathed.
My favorite plot hole is how no one in Europe thought to give the US a phone call that all of Russia had packed up and flown over on their way to invade Washington DC.
@@kazmark_gl8652yeah, or the fact that Russia only needed to do just a smidge of investigative work to find out it was actually the known super-terrorist Vladimir Makarov behind the massacre as he himself was literally leading the attack.
Back when the series had balls, This was the golden age of COD
When CoD was about showing the horrors of war while telling a story of heros, this was such a good game
MW was def a summer blockbuster
Seeing this mission again, is so nostalgic and seeing the remastered version again reminds me that infinity ward HAD good games

@@mangopie7602 Excatly. They're idolizing soldiers too much to the point they're turning them cartoonish. TF141 worked so well because they served as a narrative contrast to the dark and gritty reality that the Rangers faced. Just like WaW with Dimitri and the American guy, I forgot his name. I want to play as faceless soldiers.
@@lordruzki Gives more meaning to the reality of the situation other than just "These guys are giving it their all, so we better make our mission count." Instead of just a report or snippet, you get to see what's behind the grittiness.
thats why i loved the beginning of BF1each time you died you just switched to another faceless soldier. i think i can speak for everybody when i say we need more games with faceless soldiers who get killed in droves yet still kickass@@eagle1-536
I used to listen to this exact dialogue from MW2 to study for my exams. It was calming but had me on edge to get something done
Invasion of America was peak COD
I was still pissed that they didn't change the part where the SEAL team on the rooftop died. Just a very selfish act, the SEAL team covered the chopper, and the chopper just left them there like it's nothing.
Check that whiteboard in the first room, I think it’s written full of platoon organization/task/status. And it actually reflects the personnel present in the room too

Man MW2 was insane, so immersive and shocking
The somber and desperate tone of this mission is beautiful in it's own sad way. Hearing thre guy(s) on the radio reporting a column of Btr's, or approaching T-72's, calling in for airstrikes, etc. My favorite mission in the MW2 Campaign by far.
Broken arrow one of the worst things to hear on a radio
@@blazetheplaneswalker isn't that basically asking them to airstrike your position, or so so close that it also puts you at risk because you're that close to being overrun?

Props to Hans Zimmer and the musical team that makes this mission so intense.
Completely forgot Glenn Morshower was Overlord here and now he is General Shepherd in the reboot nice.

I always ask me why the 2009 MW2 UCP camo looks like the real version and the remaster looks more darker and a lot of green tone without looking as the real life counterpart
probably because in the remaster half the uniforms havent seen a washer for the past three months so they are really dirty

The thing about how Russian soldiers could learn to operate a Javelin in a short time really bugs me. They should use RPG-26 instead.
This mission amazed me when I played it for first time. Small dialogues in radio could explain how bad situation is. Everywhere something happening and there is no time to rest. Even when we are in some kind of shelter in begining we still can't feel safe. Also this game shows that even 1st army of the world still can have many problems during war, especially during actual war. Masterpiece for sure, especially remastered version

Go to option and click graphics. In display section you can disable hit marker and crosshair
I disabled it as soon as I bought the the remaster
In "Of their own accord" you can actually save the seals on the rooftop who cover your escape. Place claymores along the way once you get outside, and when you mantle over the first edge when you walk up to the roof, turn to your left and shoot the enemies coming up the stairs. There is more than enough time, and all the enemies will die, and the seals don't die.
I have to try it! thank you.
Every time I replayed that mission, as soon as I figured out that I could, I made it a point to do so! Takes some careful placement, but definitely doable

This is how games must be made, not this new 2020s trash called MW series. I still remember every Hanz Zimmer soundtrack and have goosebumps everytime I hears classic MW games

The OG version looks and sounds better or am i trippin ? The vibe atmosphere and vibe feels way better than the remaster
100% That’s what happens when you put the mechanical mind in charge of something artistic. I can’t understand why they changed the art style and sound mixing.
You can tell those guys were like “oh you cannot hear quite right what they are saying here, while your helicopter is on fire everyone is shooting and there is explosions everywhere. Let’s make the audio crystal clear! That will improve it!”
I genuinely despise the Color changes. I don’t understand why they did it.

Something that’s off in the remaster is the music. In “Of Their Own Accord” the music swells at the realization that the player is in DC. It’s overpowering and makes for a really emotional experience. Naturally, we already feel defeated considering how hard we’re getting it in the bunker but seeing the Washington Monument crumbling as the music takes charge is an unforgettable moment. It just isn’t as good in the Remaster.
The music is kept at the sidelines and you have to sprint because the music doesn’t sync with the moment you realize you’re in DC.
Personally the MW2R was a disappointment not only because it didn’t have content other than the campaign (it’s understandable for MP but not co-op), but there were small errors in the game that overall just made the game weaker.
Can you pelease name other errors they did in the Remastered edition?
The music in the remaster is less audible overall, not just in this mission
@@TheDelta14 This is true. And its a error very lazy, because the should let us increase the volumen of dialogues, sound and music the form independent but you only can change all volumen together. And you cant change the language.
But I want to know about others errors, in my opinion its a good Remastered. But I would prefer to fix some errors. Like the USMC soldiers that should go to rig oil at the end but they are still Rangers models.
Or the Special Forces that are in the SAM building of "of your own Accord" but they are still just Ranger models. Or how there are only Rangers unit defending Washington... Or how they change OP forces in The End Game to Shadow company units.... But in general I am okay with the game
@@mantisreturns2757 The radio chatter at the beginning of the mission is different. I wouldn't call that an error, but it sure feels way better in the original game. That, combined with the music, makes the ambience and immersion of the 2009 game much better

I always timed the peak of the music to when you round the corner of the trench and see the ruined Washington memorial
This mission really showed us the true horror of being the frontliner in the war

Activision needs to take a look back at this era of CoD and understand what people really wanted. When the last good entry in the series is a 4 year old remaster of a 14.5 year old game, you're doing something wrong.

I only watched someone play the remaster (I still need to play it) but I never noticed that they said "Broken Arrow" at the Lincoln Memorial. Now I'm wondering who brought the nuclear material and how hard was Russia fighting for that memorial? little story bits like that sold these campaigns for me
I think in that context it was using another definition of “Broken Arrow” where it calls for all available aircraft to attack enemy positions

Biggest mistake they made with this mission was , for some reason, making the helicopter music (when you're on the roof with the SEALs) much quieter in the remaster.

In real-life, the US Army 75th Rangers should already wearing OCP-Multicam instead of ACU as well as they are wearing FAST Helmets since it was set in 2016.

Those rangers could’ve got on the Black Hawk but they decided to buy Ramirez and the rest of the rangers some time and stayed on that building to kill the Russians before being overran by the Russian. Those guys are some real heroes for that
i still prefer the OG one. They removed a lot of stuff in the Remastered ie. the loading cutscenes

I miss when Call of Duty had these massive armies going to war with and the player is just your average infantryman fighting alongside AI teammates. The occasional "spec ops" missions is just right. Nowadays its just what, 4-5 people waging war with a whole country of baddies doing spec ops and covert operations.
How come Dunn Foley were the only rangers wearing high cuts while everyone else was wearing regular ACHs
And now, how did we got from this, to reboot?
EDIT: I only wish they would change the models of those 2 rooftops rangers to seals, as they said to be seals.
EDIT2: I also wish they would add Ramirez catching the mag, that Fooley throws at him.

There will never be a better action game than COD 1, 2 and 3. MW2 will always be the greatest FPS action to ever exist.
