- LightForce HTX 230 Review. We all know we have had many late arrivals in the bush so these have been used very well :D
I've had these lights for over a year now with endless requests for a product review... Well here you go I finally did it.

I have a total of 36000 lumens to front of my truck.
Having my rooflights further back on the roof eliminate bonnet reflection.
The pro of using rooflights is that I get lots good light down the ditches and see deers etc. before they are on the road.
In the nordic winter we get light over high plowed snow walls along our roads.
when purchasing my htx230's i added up what my old hid's and lightbars costed and really wasn't that much more for these lights . For the amount of country driving at night i do i can justify the purchase and i am very happy with them
Nice kit. When you engage the roof lights night becomes day, you can see everything, far and near. Nice to have.

I'm onto a set of FYRLYT Nemesis 9000's. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement.
You bet. I have them on my Iveco 4x4 Daily. Penetration unbeatable and because they look very plain the bastards that knock lights off vehicles tend to attact to the blinged up leds etc. Best kept secret.
I have the Fyrlyt 5000. Happy with the lights but am considering upgrading to the 9000. Love the halogen colour.

I bought a set for my Kenworth a few weeks ago. They replaced a set of Lightforce 240 Blitz 70W with diffusers when the external ballasts gave up the ghost. I had them for several years. The reflectors also went dull.
I don’t think there is a huge difference, but the main advantage is that you can use the LEDs by themselves and use the combined LED/HID on long straight roads. I do a lot of night driving on the Nullarbor, Kimberley and Pilbara where the cost of the lights far outweighs the cost of damage hitting a bull, or even camels which we see on the Nullarbor. I think they are probably better quality than the 240 Blitz. For me they are worth the money.
1.31 you gotta love Cruiser headlights, especially when you turn the high beams on.
they are a top light Ronny, got a pair myself and also a pair of 4wdsupacentre leds which are very good for their price
Damn impressive, and they make your regular truck lights look almost nonexistent on video.

the Kings lights are okay for the price. Tho mine the black paint faded to grey but both are still working great a year later. I also just have a 22" light bar and 2 4" LED's for about that 50-100m distance. I would never use the Lights with oncoming cars tho. White light is very harsh on the eyes.

Love Ronny to try the Aust made Fyrlight Nemesis 9000. 24volt halogen. parts such as lens and reflector easily replacable. less expensive than HID. Better than LED in hazy smoky situations and the long distance penetration unbeatable. Cheers.
Ronny, thanks for this review. I wish you could also do.a review of the Hellfyr. I am so interested with how it performs. They use halogen which as per experience produces much contrast than a super white light which blows or dissolves image contrast which is not safe when driving.

Im going down to the 4wdsupercentre today, and they've got a deal for the 9" LED spotties at only $134. Bloody good if you ask me!

Yes, been very interested in these, but concerned about the loss of size with centre spot beam reflector.
Would you consider running the roof LED's on the side or even at a 45degree angle for the bush work and camp set up?

I hope Fyrlyt offer you a set of their Nemesis 9000s.
Can I assume that you previously looked at replacing OEM head lights with upgraded Hi-Low HID's for distance, then adding LED's for spread. My thinking at this point since I have not put any on my new rig yet that I would go that route and add smaller LED's fanning say a 270 deg. path side to side. I like these and they look great, like to hear what you might choose to switch around to later. Great videos, getting better all the time!!

I only use Great Whites. Tried a couple of the cheaper brands, yeah, I can see why people purchase them. But you get what you pay for. Using one 9 led bar and two 24 led round spotties, I can see a good, very well lit 500m ahead, with bloody awesome spread.
This set up allows me to use all lights behind trucks without bothering them like HID do. And yes, I wait for the boys n girls to let me know they’re not blinded from behind.
for a spread beam on those lightforce surely the top 4 and the bottom 4 globes (LED) lights around the circle do next to nothing? Ronny can you tape the four (4) at top and bottom too see if they are much different please ?

Is it worth it over traditional spotties and a short bar in between? Nice idea but pretty pricey?
Love your work on most things but to do an honest review you must state the price as that effects alot of people's decisions.

3 years down the road... how are they holding up? My first ones failed within a year... then within an hours use the warranty replacements failed also.
Research on the usual forums has revealed that the LED rings have huge quality issues hence the Gen 2 was introduced to replace the ever-problematic Gen 1’s.

cheep spread led bars are easy to come by .. but this has nice HID's and just enough spread
I like my HTX's but in all honesty I wasn't amazed or blown away by them.

I have a 52" curved led bar from Amazon for a little over 100 dollars and this shit is great. Okay, its a bit too big but hey, everybody makes onlineshopping-mistakes :) the bar goes up to 600 meters with 400-500 meters usable light and a great spread. Maybe you need to see a 1km ahead, but here in Europe it is not that useful. The bar on the roof gives me enough distance and spread. So for me a cheap led bar does the job and the buildquality really seems okay.
Hi Ronny, would you be able to tell us why you change a new set of lightforce HTX on your vehicle? I am on the third set already, first set last about a year less than 100 hours of use, the second set last about a few months, less than 10 hours of use. The led ring burn out on the HTX is a well known problem, stay away from Lightforce HTX!!!

I wasn't Impressed by these at all.
Now here is a bushy guy anyone will expect his channel to be rough and tough-but he is the opposite. He is very polite, aware that kids might be watching and can still be Aussie without being abusive and vulgar. Compare him to John Cadogan- I stopped watching him because he is downright rude, filthy and has a very high opinion of self. I contacted his brokerage to save "thousands"- ended up buying from the local dealer anyway because of lazy and careless approach by his staff.Good on you Ronny and thank you for entertaining without the obsceneties.

That is correct - but you will always find good deals around, especially at 4WD shows and our retail partners.

Those look like nice lights but they are too spendy for my rig.
These are $1200 usd I can't imagine spending that much money of two lights, I get they are great an all, that's just a ton of money.
To be honest , not really impressed. The LED ring is pretty cool though and I think my parkers are brighter than your high beam haha

Yeah I guess you get what you pay for, and I am very much a novice when it comes to overlanding/off-roading.
STEDI type x's are $599AUD for the set..i reckon they are the best value for money along with warranty and performance.
Yeah I understand. I am perfectly happy with my "Amazon" Nilight bar and pods. They were cheap and I am not out in the backcountry for weeks on end.

Must say not that impressed with the HTX the LED ring is not up to scratch not enough spread and the hid is to much of pencil beam. For the money you can set up a much better system for a lot less. Like your reviews

haha true, if I wasn't driving much at night I'd probably not buy good/pricey lights however. Buy given the amount of night driving I do Good Lights are a must.
I just drove to Kalbarri from Mandurah, we hit the road at midnight and had to sit on 105kph the whole way through till gerraldton till the sun came up bloody ridiculous without driving lights almost run over an echidna and slowed down for 6 roos
The problem with these sort of lights is that some idiots who owned them turn them on even when driving on suburbs. Someone with these lights behind you will blind you, making using the mirrors difficult to use.
Not a good light setup you got there, no one in the real world needs pencil beams that far & the look of light all over bonnet is a turn off. A pair of good LED driving lights blow these away with more useful beam pattern. HID is obsolete & those rings of leds give what any 20" ligghtbar can do with a bit of DIY diffuser lens.
