I was my mom’s caregiver who had dementia. She passed away this September and since then, I’ve struggled with PTSD from caregiving. More so than grieving her death. Thank you for highlighting the caregivers dilemma. I haven’t stopped researching/studying dementia and how to prevent it in myself.
My happiest moment is when I am doing soil evaluations. When I retired I began my own business . I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. I am 68 and going strong. Also for the first time in my life I do not have to worry about money! I am also helping to care for my Great Grandson. When I am working I am recharging. I also do designs of Septics so I am using my brain and crunching numbers . My memory has improved dramatically!!! So heading into my 70s I am feeling great!!! Also the physical work helps my sleep so much. Thank you for all of the information!!!!
Thanks for the hopefilled discussion focused on caregiver care and dementia outlooks. I’m in Kwik Universe, and I’m going to devote 2 hours minimum monthly to health and wellness topics to give future me an edge. Definitely not enough focus on prevention in my habits.
Really appreciate this, and so timely. I’ve been the sole caretaker of first my father till his passing in 2006 and then my mother until she went into a nursing home one year ago. It’s been incredibly stressful, 24/7, all alone in this. I’m now in a place in my life where mom is well cared for and I can move forward with my life. But then I realize, I’m not sure what to do? Noticing my brain health is not where it should be, even though people think I’m projecting. I’m going to start everything suggested and follow closely. I matter!
It sounds to me you are a very strong & compassionate person. I strongly suggest to Trust your instincts about your health, you know more about you than anyone. May you enjoy this new chapter in your life.
I seriously love this channel.🎉❤ Thanks for giving this to us! Hope one day I can meet you face to face.😊 I would be amazing to talk to you. Beste wishes and really thanks!
So ridiculous that the UK NHS, GPs, Social Services and the community have left me at home on my own - even though I KEEP asking as I had an accident they do nothing to help you! I go to a cafe everyday to chat. I ride a bike and keep my eyes on the traffic and turning. I read. I have the sleep apnea and I choke. Doctor ignores me. The nhs want me sick! Hate them
Well how about reading books listed on financial Times for 45 min in the morning 5 days a week and eating clean and doing full body check ups every 6months and doing cardio 25min 2 days a week and hypertrophy 60min 3days a week. Will that suffice?
So much purdenent information, so thank you both. I do feel compelled to ask you both to please pronounce the word "Alzheimers" correctly. I realize there is only one L in the word, however, it is pronounced as if there are 2 "L's"...check on it and find out for yourselves. Again, I do truly appreciate the info. No disrespect...seriously.

Most of the things can be reversed. Cancer can be reversed, brain getting old is reversable, okay, let's see to share.
