“What you practice in private you are rewarded for in public”
“How we do anything is how we do everything”
    “Leaders are readers”
Kwik believes many people are depleted because they spend unnecessary amounts of energy by trying to hold themselves to an image/identity of their ideal self.
Succesful people in all areas need a growth mindset.
The heroes journey is knowing you will run into challenges and then you overcome them.
Your brain is like a super computer and your self talk is a program that will run
Keep your self talk empowering and positive
    Motivation and action
If you visualize something in your head and your not acting - there’s an incongruency.
The way Jim came through it was to think “What is my why?”
    Human potential ‘we underestimate’
We were told a lie that somehow our intelligence, learning, creative is fixed -
In the past two decades we discovered in brain science more than in the previous 2000 years.
What we found is that we highly underesteimate what humans are capable of.
This is about transcending - the truth is we’re genius, we’re faster than we think.
“What what man can do, anyone can do”
Kwik and Gary V thinks self awareness is a superpower
If you want to be an elite mental performer or a real life superhuman
Guard the first hour of your day - no distractions.
You train yourself to be active instead of reactive
    Habits and behavior change
    Behavior is belief driven
Many people don’t read because they don’t value reading.
If you want for instance a new habit of journaling - then you need a belief that allows that behavior exist.
You can’t change your behavior if you don’t believe you're that kind of person.
-> Expand your thinking, get references think BIG and grow RICH.
Creating identity change - who do you believe you are
The two most powerful words in the world is : I am
Because whatever you put after determines your destination or destiny
If you wanna understand high performers and successful people - copying a behavior simply doesn’t work - you need to really understand their beliefs and how they are thinking.
-> who do they think they are that allows them to do and execute on these behaviors?
    A wise guy said : I don’t have problems. I have puzzles.
ACT AS IF - TRAIN YOURSELF TO BE YOUR VISION
Set up a winning environment that triggers the behavior you want.
Are people setting up their environment to win?
Many behaviors don’t stick. Therefore Kwik focus on areas such as :
You want to trigger to remind you to do the new behavior.
Geniuses set themselves up - environments, apps, effectively block distractions etc.
    Example :
Having a computer for work - it’s anchored to put them into flow without being distracted.
Having an iPad for play - it’s designed to make them relax. They use it specifically for different purposes.
In other words - be extremely self-aware - know where and when you are motivated.
Genius set up their environment to win
Part of their success is because their not-to-do list is bigger than their to-do list.
They know exactly what to avoid in order to excel in life.
Kwik on Success rituals, high performers and making an impact
We all have sovereignty within us - whenever we put it out we’re like a
Are you a thermometer or a thermostat ?
A thermometer just reflects what the environment is giving it - what is the temperature?
A thermostat sets a standard - it dictates the temperature and impacts the room.
Kwik believes our happiness, level of success is about transcending your uniqueness.
He doesn’t look for perfection because he knows that state doesn’t exist.

Jim's wordplay game is 100/100. There are creative mnemonics throughout this interview:
"This is about transcending" --> Trance ending --> ending the trance of fixed self-worth
"Through the challenge you get the change" ---> all of the letters of the word "change" are found in the word "challenge"
"How we do anything is how we do everything" ---> How we do any thing is how we do every thing --> our approach to one thing affects our approach to every other thing we do
"Leaders are Readers" --> memorable rhyming
"Emotion" --> "E-Motion" --> "the energy of motion" --> Emotions are the fuel of action.
Each mnemonic is a placeholder for a more complex idea. Lovely way to remember your core philosophy and support new patterns of self-talk.
    Excellent interview!

Because of two strokes, I went from a school age kid with a photographic memory to a 50-year-old who has struggled to retain information and memorize things to maintain employment. 19:10 "you never know who's listening on the other side"
I show symptoms of a burnout and I struggle to keep myself motivated. But it's been like this for as long as I can remember. I know I can do so much more. Right now I am almost done with my study. When I finish my graduation internship I'll be able to get a job. But everything got so overwhelming that I just had to take a step back. But I'm still struggling. Then I remembered that my boss sent me a video (this video) a little while ago.
I do my internship at a company named Jamzone and our main product is a virtual reality game that teaches people how to use stress in a positive way. The company is still a startup, but it's growing. Maybe Jim Kwik ends up helping me through my struggles so I can help the company grow and improve our products so we can help many others :D

Markus... I was literally thinking about that before I even saw this comment. I took a break in between this video to journal and I was picking out those names that Tom has had on the show. I see that triangle as a like the ultimate super hack for manifesting our vision and discovering our authentic self - the purpose of education...
I want to create a school off the spectrum that offers a degree that competes against the high school diploma. When I one day open this school, I will, without a doubt, reach out to partner with Impact Theory, Jim Kwik, (and maybe Tim Ferriss) because these characters have generations of wisdom and insight with them to transcend/transform the way that education is done. They are just missing one piece to make it all work. I believe that piece is vision.
I know what you are thinking so let me explain! I go to Arizona State University full time so I have an up close look at what the "number one school in innovation" looks like. Students seem as directionless if not, more so, than in high school. I have met literally no one that has been confident in their direction or the classes they are taking. Vision is rare... super rare. The insight that I have is that Vision is the single most powerful thing that a human being can wield. My mission, truly, is to create a school that focuses on assisting the discovery of students vision. The rest of the work will be cut out for them after that with the triangle you pointed out earlier.
Sorry for such a long and arrogant post, but like Tom says, use arrogance as a tool, not a quality. Thank you for your time. Hit me up: 623-329-4952 or chasegielda@yahoo.com

Thank you so much for both of you for allowing all of us to drink from this UNLIMITED fountain of knowledge that I know is literally sending out ripples that is changing the world. I’m watching this from the most isolated population on the planet in the middle of the ocean during this COVID-19 situation and I am so thankful to people like you who allow people like me, just someone who thinks of himself as an average probably wont do anything genius level in life, to have the idea planted into my head that anything really is possible with consistent incremental shift in my beliefs. My mother and late father both have done an incredible job at showing me love and letting me do whatever I wanted to do and supporting me in that journey, my mom especially being the leader she is in the realm of surfing and paddling (no one comes close to a ocean resume like her). But she has taught me grit and how to choose wisdom and the route of honesty and integrity over all things but I Iacked confidence. I’ve developed some over the years, but videos like this really propel me forward and I just had to say thank you so much for all you both do.

I can relate to decision making fatigue. It saps most of your willpower and you realise that you haven't accomplished the important things that you told yourself to do, then that feeds into your anxiety. Jim stated that a fine tuned routine eliminates this problem. I need to create that structure to direct my energy into the things that matter most to me. I've become addicted to learning again and that will be my starting point.

I started using social media programs in 2004 and by 2014, I finally realized the numerous "likes" I had received by developing my network, were not worth wasting my day. Today, I log in to social media about 2x month and only because social media does provide some connection/relationship utility.
