You all picked some great ones! We will not be able to un-see Minimalist Frankenstein now. Thanks again, all! Have a great weekend.
I ordered the D2 and micarta CEO from your website and when I got it the blade was bent. Real bummer since I paid 75 bucks for it
@@lilmesquite1560 call or email em about it mang
@@lilmesquite1560 yea right dude blades dont bend.... U just a lame scammer if what u said was true you would contact them on their site not youtube kid........ SMH
Crkt official i really like my camo homwfront tactical. Is there a special pack u can buy to get a blades.
So close to get my first knife by my dad. Begging its a crkt.
I have a Ti Tuna ... it is awesome ... BHQ should make a custom “Blue Fin” Exclusive Tuna with Blue G10 Scale and a D2 blade.
TRUE THIS
Excellent
Id buy that for a dollar!
Love the Tuna, just wish it was offered in a better steal.
The Tuna look nice but I don't like 8cr steel aus8 is better I would like to try d2 steel
My first knife bought with my own money was a CRKT M16-14 Tanto blade with serrations. Still have it today and it serves as one of my beatter EDCs for yard and farm work.
good knife for the money!
A lot of peoples first was that 3” spear-point with Zytel scales haha. My buddy got his about 20 years ago at his first job and still has and uses it. Lost a little bit of the tip but other than that works fine still. CRKT knives last, and are inexpensive for the most part.
I want to try a Tuna after watching this. Or a Tuna Compact. Both look like great slicers.
Drinking caffeine and doing what you love is a great feeling.
The Drifter with the steel handle scales is still my fave CRKT. I lost mine about 3 weeks ago and just got the replacement in the mail. So clean, simple, subtle, pretty, sharp, elegant - a joy to have in my pocket
I just got the 3” Tanto M16-02SS and I love it. I have the bigger 4” too but always reach for the small one. Like a stronger Elementum Tanto.
I’ve never got a CRKT and not liked it. Also my oldest most used knives are all Cricket 🦗. They are a great brand.
I've been using a variation of the m16 for almost 2 decades. Everytime I think about giving something else a shot I come back to it. Glad you guys included it. Super underrated knife
I just got a new M16-02SS and love it. I only carry it or a Kizer Squidward most days for months now.
I just bought the AUX and Tuna because of this video. I had the Tan M16 with Veff serrations when I was a wharf rat/commercial fisherman. Loved that knife and I fell in love with CRKT. Being from Oregon, just makes the love for CRKT stronger. Thanks for the awesome video and knowledge guys.
Thumbs up for the intro alone. I picked up the Piet when it was first released and on special. This is a great little knife and I've been very happy with it. For the money it's a great value for a little slicer.
When he said 3 blade shows ago I was like wow I still remember it and I've been watching these guys for a long time now
Yo, if I ever end up your state we all gotta chill at BHQ. You guys got me back into the passion of knives and now I have a Benchmade Super freek, a bugout, a Manix 2, a civivi in s35vn, a ka-bar TDI and an Izula II WITH a tek lock. Thanks for hurting my wallet guys. Love ya'll!
That is an impressive repertoire of knives. Very nice!
My favorite big CRKT was the 3.8” CK Folder.. beast of a knife. Currently EDC’ing a M16-02SS the 3” Tanto.. great heavy duty small and thin knife. Action is great for copper washers.
I have a few like Tighe and Drifter.. an M20 somewhere. All are strong and dependable. Most have poor clips.. but they function.
They really need to get into new steels. They have some amazing designs. Higher-end steel would really work for them. Imagine a CEO in S30v and G10......
Many of us have lamented the terrible material choices of CRKT for years. So many amazing designs and innovations and almost all have been put together half-@$$ed with poor materials.
Jonathan Watson it’s because CRKT are all manufactured in China.
I see nothing wrong with 8cr13mov, it works and I am more likely to use the heck out of em. Love em.
The only reason you can't see anything wrong with it is due to sheer ignorance as regards to steel alloys and performance. The lower wear resistance and frequent sharpenings made me want to avoid 8cr like the plague. I'd rather take Sandvik 12c27 over that Chinese crap any day.
@@angelus_solus no. Ur ignorant for trashing someone's preference and opinion. If someone likes a steel that u don't doesn't mean ignorant. Settle down and stop being a lil wussy boi
I love the squid. Like many others, it was my first edc knife that really got me into the edc knife world. Great video guys!
I have a bev-edge .
I bought it for the action.
It is a great fidget knife.
Once you overcome the detent, it is instantly open. For some reason it is so satisfying to play with.
I love the crkt brand. The fossil is by far my favorite knife from them so far. If it got updated I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.
The Fossil is superb!
I carry the CRKT S.P.E.W Folts Design around my neck and the CRKT Fossil Ikoma Design in my right pocket. Both have G10 grips and are really good looking and reliable EDC knives. I know the Fossil isn't liked by a lot of people but I love carrying it. I wear relaxed fit jeans and it isn't to heavy or bulky for me. And I honestly just love it. The S.P.E.W is definitely my favorite of the 2.
I have the M16 14ZLEK. It’s my favorite folding knife I’ve ever had. Feels amazing in the hand, durable and aesthetic. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Tuna all the way!! I've been carrying my Tuna for about 6 to 7 months and it's just perfect, it always does what I need it to do and it's great for EDC.
Piet is one of my all time faves. I wish there was some custom scale options
The first knife I bought as an adult (not my Boy Scout knife) was a CRKT F4-12, and I love that little knife. I have a Swindle that I like a lot too - it snaps open really well. My most recent addition is the Bev-Edge: bad name, good knife. It’s like a Pilar with a flipper and a bottle opener.
Picked up a crkt ceo the other day and man do I love this knife. Need to get m16 and a few others. I actually carry it more then my new and first benchmade because I love it so much. Thnks Bhq2for the suggestion. Oh yeah...it's perfect for shirt pocket carry, especially when you pockets are filled with other knives, flashlights, pens, multi-tools etc.
I really like that homefront. Love how it brakes down so easily.
M21-14 special forces in desert tan serrations held its own for me.
I was a CRKT fanboy for a long time. They and Gerber are the brands who got me into knives. I'd love either the 'Tuna' and/or the 'Piet' in a mid-tech steel.
My two favorite CRKT are the Crossbones and the CEO. Just picked up another CEO the blade HQ micarta version.
I was really impressed by the way Kurt's chorizo fingers grasped the minimalist... added to my wishlist so that i may have the same experience
Chorizo brothers unite!
@@BladeHQ use appropriate nacho libre gif here
My favorite CRKT’s that I own: Hootenanny, Crossbones, LCK, Hollow-Point, Razel, Tighe Fighter, Jettison, Ripple, Swindle, and Remedy. Some that I haven’t handled but want to are the Pilar, Homefront, Avant, CEO, M-16, and Caligo.
I bought a Slacker as a present for my father. Really nice for EDC and the fieldstrip technology is also very cool.
I really wanted to see this and it was SO HELPFUL!!
Crkt is my favorite brand (always look for sales). I have a m16 big dog tanto in desert scheme, gravity assisted flip, which has a liner lock/auto lock feature that is essential in protecting one's fingers from being chopped off/heavily damaged by accidentally closing in your hand during rough use. Which is a serious danger if you end up using a cheaper brand's assisted flip knife that doesn't have a good safety liner lock.
The safest option, but not the most convenient, is having a fixed blade
I have an M-16 I found (tried to find owner to no avail) and it is one of my favorite knives. That's saying something because I'm a drop point plain edge kind of guy and this is a partially serrated tanto style. I think I need another CRKT.
The new CRKT look good
I'm currently carrying the benchmade barrage 581 and I just got the pm2 from you guys love the videos
I absolutely love my Pi-Large it’s such a good knife for the price. If you’re thinking about it don’t hesitate it’s a great knife.
Digging the ceo love the way it looks.. And the handle on it makes it look unique
The tuna, overland, piet and pilar are awesome 😄
M16 knife is a classic, you can get anything you want with all the variations of it. Probably a little big for most people but if you have a job that needs to be done you can’t go wrong with it. I love the look of the ceo just because it’s a knife that doesn’t look like a knife and in an office setting no one would know you got it even if it’s in your top pocket and once you use it and put it back people would forget about it straight away
CRKT, always the most beautiful designs 👍
CRKT makes a lot of great newer design knives but I'm still an Otanashi Noh Ken guy. Really love that blade.
Last time I was this early sprint run spydercos were still in stock
Touche.
I friggin love Blade HQ... that opening was fantastic
I EDC the Pilar a lot of the time...and I have several of the knives you guys had on today...
I picked up another one yesterday, it's my 5th pocket carry today. It is one of the best small knifes i have owned.
I love the minimalist I used to have the Bowie version but I lent it to someone and never got it back. I plan on getting a new one and a cleaver one. I edc the Ikoma fossil without the serrations and I love it. Just hit it with a strop once a week and it’s good
The Aux and Tuna been looking for a perfect fixed blade to carry as an edc and after watching this I really want that Aux badly. All the fixed blades I have are just too big for an edc. Looks like I'm making a few more purchases from you guys after watching this video!
Great Review. CRKT is my favorite knife brand.
CRKT bev edge is a sleeper. Super smooth action and similar size to the squid. Has a spider hole for flipping and a bottle opener for extra fun.
My favorite crkt knife is the minimalist. I carry it rn along with a gerber flatiron and a buck outlaw. It works on my basketball shorts scout carry and I like it.
I'm a Brit, so I'd love to see a double detent version of the Piet. Heinnie Haynes in the UK just did that with the Pilar but I think the Piet is a much more compelling and useful EDC design.
I have the Piet and love it for EDC.
Way to make a CRKT vid interesting. With Kurt's imagination and Jamie's random machine gun story💯😁 killer content!🤙
I love the minimalist. I have the mini bowie version and it is awesome. I reach for it much more than my pocket knife.
CRKT K.I.S.S. ASSist Assisted is my favorite
I think I’ve had the M16 knives more than any other.. I’ve had at least 6...Carried the aluminum 04SF for 8 years, sad sad day when I lost it. It was a warranty replacement directly from CRKT back in 2010. They surprised me when they replaced a $30 M16 with their nicest M16. I beat the crap out of that thing on a daily basis, easily sharpened steel and positive grip feel.
I have a CRKT Swindle Ken Onion design, it's got to be one of the smoothest knives I've ever owned
My Favorite CRKT is actually the crossbones had for a couple years now and its still just as reliable even though i would like them to switch out the bearings for a newer easier model
Do you have a jumbones?
@@BladeHQ i dont would like to have for the novelty of its size
@@BladeHQ yeah i didnt know the bearings were loose in the knife so went to open it to clean it and they fell out lol still work without them just now the centering is just off
I have the Tuna and love it. Great blade shape. They actually nailed the heat treat on the 8CR14MOV to where it stays sharper than most other 8CR blades. I’d love it in a Sandvik steel like 12C27 or 14C28N. D2 chips and rusts easily. Better still in S20v or S35vn.
Never heard of CKRT or Minimalists before BladeHQ. Now my son has the black handled version I first bought as he also wears sweatpants a lot. Since I gave him my Minimalist I had to buy myself Mikarta handle scale Minimalist, or three.....(The Cleaver is my cool dude cheese knife).
The CRKT opening and closing of the blade is the smoothest around.
I've got to agree with you, the Tuna is such a good looking knife.
The TUNA is absolutely amazing for the price!
I love my CRKT Hootenanny...great knife, I also love saying "Hootenanny"
Curts faces in the beginning deserves a like
I was hard to keep a straight face while he was doing that.
I have the Squid and love it. Very comfortable for such a small knife. Useful and great for office use in which larger knives would be off putting. Also very robust.
I’m going to spring for the Tuna. It fascinates me. I’ll forgive the 8CR14MOV.
Anyone else feel the need to have a different knife for every day of the year?
I like how hes got some serious liner and compression lock callous
I Love the minimalist series
Wow watching this my package with 3 knife I ordered from you arrived, in it was a crkt Shenanigan.
Love my crkt graphite
You are definitely one of many. The CEO is a popular knife.
We need more of those knife life shirts👀🔥
I carry the James Williams designed hissatsu. Great back up defensive knife.
My favorite Crkt by far is the deviation!
love the pilar! if it was on bearings id never need to buy another knife in my life
I’ve carried the M16-14M 1* high risk environment tonto for what seems like decades.
I currently own 13 1* idk why I just love those early swat knives 13LE by far my favorite of the three styles
I'd pick the AUX. I love a good fixed blade, and that seems perfect for EDC.
The Minimalist gets a lot of screen time, but I think the Folts SPEW is also a fantastic (slightly larger) wharncliffe. I use it as a bootknife
The SPEW is great if you prefer a wharncliffe. I think the minimalist has the benefit of a bunch of different blade styles.
I can get behind the j hook. That is some sweet and simple innovation.
The tuna knife is perfection.... I might buy that......
Check out the sketch desert warrior first. Has D2 steel. And the overland as well. Put em all 3 side by side and see what u think
I just brought a burnley design buku and love it awesome bladr
Blade
I love my Pilarge with a brass flytanium scale.
My first "real" knife was an M-16. I thought it was so cool at the time. I don't love it now. I had lot of issues with the pocket clip screws stripping out. The holes in mine were also lint magnets.
I have a Pilarge, which is pretty nice, but a bit heavy for EDC for me. I have a BT Fighter Compact that I really like. I have almost bought the Tuna several times. I'll hold out for an exclusive. Hint hint.
Squid is my favorite 👍
Tuna hands down haha I deff want one, the only reason I keep stopping myself is I'm just not a fan of the steel it uses.
I like Ernest Hemingway’s thinking
Love my seismic and that deadbolt lock
The last year CRKT had a lineup worth buying.
There's actually another model of the CEO. The Heinnie Haynes Exclusive model. It's cool.
The CEO, such a knife for all occasions!!
i would be SO in love if there was a D2 version.
Can you do a best tops knife video PLEASE!!!!!!!! and yes I have 3 of the crkt minimalists there great little knives!!!! Great video but miss zac!!!!!!! Anyway thanks for the great video guys.
The only CRKT in my collection is Carnufex. Looking for Tuna after this.
I have the CRKT Montosa, Rogers design; personally think it’s a good EDC knife. Out of the ones on the table I’m really digging the Aux fixed blade. Honestly am probably going to order one once I’m done watching the video. Just gotta keep it from the wife😅
BHQ, you guys need to do an exclusive with the Caligo in 154CM or CPM-154!
A CRKT m16-01ks was my first “actual “ knife, i like their designs but I can’t just the price for the materials
They should make a carbon fiber ceo with a black blade
There is a blackout version coming. Not carbon fiber but it seems close to the look you are going for.
@@BladeHQ any hope for a D2 CEO?
I've loved my Swindle since it came out, they need to make it again but in S35VN
i have the Vox Batum! love that brick knife!
I'd have to pick the Pilar, probably in the D2 carbon fiber BHQ exclusive variant if available.
I use my minimalist Bowie as my kayak knife and trout knife
10 minutes before this video was made, a massive bong rip was had by these two. 😝
Love my Squid, well, my Pilar to.
Carry my Minimalist, drop point, the lanyard is a good place to clip my house key when out riding my bike (bicycle).
I bought a Pilar last year and loved, loved, loved the design, ergonomics, and feel in the hand. But dang, can't keep it sharp to save my life. It dulls lightning fast on me, don't know why. Might be my fault, but I don't have the same issue with the SOG I got a couple months ago.
Please make a BHQ exclusive Piet. That design begs for an upgrade
Thanks. Funny. Good reviews...
