The one time I bought a mattress online, which was in 2020, happened to be the best mattress I have ever owned.....and I have purchased a total of 6 mattresses in my life
I would rather take my chance online, then put up with a snake oil salesman, in some of these big stores who don’t make the mattress, and know nothing about it. I have been lied to and ripped off and got stuck with a mattress that hurt my back and hips for three years. They won’t take it back and I made payments for three years. It was a nightmare. I suffer with arthritis so I gave up and I am ordering one online I figure I have nothing to lose except all of the pain that I have been in. So sometimes it’s easier to take a chance after doing your research and try to get a bed from online and not have to put up with people bothering you and trying to sell you a pack of lies.
Online companies often have long trial periods with better, or at least longer, warranties than the big box stores. I don't really trust salesmen. Their interest is to sell. That is how they make money.
I live in the Bay Area, so unfortunately not close enough to easily visit your stores. I found a local company that makes hybrid latex-coil mattresses, but unfortunately they don’t reinforce the edge coils and I found I needed more edge support. I was also able to try Avocado Green mattresses in-store. I’m trying to decide between Avocado, Birch (which I haven’t been able to try), or you guys, and would really appreciate any thoughts you have on the matter! My current mattress is a very firm spring mattress, and that’s all I’ve ever slept on , but I’m generally a side sleeper. I’m hesitant to get a softer mattress that contours to my body since I tried the Avocado mattress with pillow topper and it was disconcerting, I’m not used to sinking into a mattress, but I think it’s worth getting a relatively firm mattress and maybe a thin topper since that’s probably healthier in the long run and I could take off the topper if I don’t like it. But Avocado Green mattress is $1499 for a full size (that’s with their perpetual discount) whereas your dunlap coil hybrid full mattress is only $999. I haven’t tried yours in person, so I’m wondering if you know how it compares to Avocado mattress? I also have figured out a way to get a Birch mattress, which is made from talalay latex and I heard is just slightly softer than the Avocado, for just over $1000 with free shipping (by buying it through CB2 with their sign-up discount), and am wondering if I should just get that and maybe not have to spend on a topper. Do you have any info on Birch mattresses? The fact that they sell for that low while using talalay, /and/ I see their influencer ads everywhere makes me wonder how they make any money! Sus How much does shipping cost from you guys? I tried to figure out on your website but it asked for billing information before any sort of shipping estimator. Thanks!
What I hate is not many choices or reviews for a semi truck mattress. Does not help most of the trucks take a non-standard size. Most of us are stuck with online as are only option.
You say "deal with your local guy" because it is one on one with the owner.....what?? Where are there "local guys"?? It is ALL big box mattress stores with 19 year olds working!
Hi Crimson Pearl, I should've been more clear on the video. If you're not able to find a "Local Guy" in your area, we deal with people all across the country to help them find the right mattress. So if you can't find anyone in your area, feel free to give us a call and we'll be happy to help you.
If they give free trial yes if no free trial nope. From my experience, Seller said you must buy firm mattress when I try it nope (my father have firm mattress) I buy it plush mattress and I love my new mattress
I prefer a softer bed then my wife does so we're trying to decide between twinXL sleepscience sonoma flippable mattresses from costco(one side med-firm other med-soft) OR our local store who carries beautyrest maui series. (get one plush and one normal) the local store is also about $600 canadian bucks cheaper then the costco sleepscience, any thoughts on if its worth paying the extra? would the quality be much better in the sleep science over beautyrest? Thanks for your videos, they've really helped navigate this crazy industry.
Hi Vhex, I don't have much experience with the Beautyrest Maui. I do have a little more experience with the Costco Sleep Science. From past experience the Costco Sleep Science uses lower quality components and the density of the foam is pretty light weight. I'm not a fan if it is a full time mattress that you plan on keeping more than 3 years. Hope this helps.
Lets get the facts. Your best marketing tip why "not" to buy from a online mattress in a box, is that they have to compress their mattress with a machine, squeezing all the components, sucking out the air and putting into a box to sit for how long? What is the deterioration of the product in a compressed state in various temperatures? Not Yours!
More people are buying all kinds of products online w/o every trying it or seeing it first somewhere. I've bought golf clubs, tv's, mattress toppers etc with good success. I haven't done this but I see Carvana cars all the time on the road. So I can understand why stores are fighting online selling but it is here to stay.

Go to a shop, try them out and then buy it online.
these days is very difficult not to go to the big box store, mom a pop shops are almost inexistent. I always try to support local shops but...
