Scotty Kilmer i need help my air conditioner is making a whistling sound idk how to fix it
Hi
Scotty is a very special individual to provide tips and insight to help people all over the world. Car dealers and repair shops probably are his enemies, more so the dishonest one's. They probably wish he didn't share his knowledge as they would just have customers come in their shops and possibly be ripped off in many cases. I know he has helped me many times by answering my questions. I say thank you Scotty as always.
if you are driving a car with frameless door like Subaru, you might need to check the rubber triangle which holds the mirror to the door
Yup
thanks for that, was really looking for this info. any chance how i can fix it?
Nice! You make it look easy; takes away my fear of doing this job. Thanks, Scotty!
Love the quick fix video's and product reviews. Thanks Scotty
Found the problem, it was my turbo
😄
🤣
Most of the whistling sounds in my van i notice happen after a stop at Taco Bell
LOL!
Butt whistles
@@calebmoos7742 😂
Update?
Body fumes
Love your videos mate great to watch and give me a little chuckle while learning something new :) keep em coming
Another awesome video from Scotty Kilmer!
Needs more cat, though.
Your a very knowledgeable mechanic! Thank you!!
I love how your videos are short and packed with information 👌.
I started watching this video and thought it wouldn’t be helpful but I was pleasantly surprised. Great video!
Just changed the door seals for all 4 doors in my 2009 Mazda 6. It's nice that they used different colors plastic clips for each door(yellow, pink, blue and orange) so you can pickup the matching seal right away when installing them. Anyway, made a huge difference, seals were dangling at the bottom of the doors because the rubber tore up over time where the clip were, I would constantly need to put them back into place, especially in winter (rubber would stick to the car with the ice)
Where did you buy them? I have a 2010 mazda 6.
@@frothly bought them at my local Mazda dealership. You might need to have them order the part
Yoooo bro,
your the best mechanic, you really know what your talking about, you give the best techniques to changing whatever.
I’ve seen most of your videos and compared to anyone else, your methods work the best.
Thank you so much keep making videos!
Great Vid Scotty. Must be great car owner too. It's the lil things like fixing what you did that show pride in ownership. Small things like this over 10 yrs or so add up and cars become so much work! Its great to keep up on these maintenance issues :)
Appreciate this one. Door seal on a couple month old car came off along the top. Was stressing out trying to snap it into the groove from the wrong angle
Love your videos Scotty!:)
good job Scotty. Those seals are easy to install, and make a big difference. -John
So good! Thanks Scotty!!!
thanks for another good fix it video
keep em coming!!!
Same problem in my Titian, thanks for the video and the helpful hints to detect it. 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼
Great stuff/info Scotty!
Great video Scotty thanks. Iam also in need of a video on fixing a deep scratch on my windshield on my 63 ' Chevy Nova. The rubber was off the wippers and someone turned them on .It got a pretty deep scratch on the driver's side. Thanks darlin
Thank you, technician, you helped me a lot 👍
Really good one!
Hey scotty, love your vids. I emailed you back on september 15th, It was about my van having no heat. its a 2003 mazda mpv and it had a coolant leak in the back behind the rear passenger wheel well. My family friend/mechanic ended up taking the hose in front and rerouting the hose so the coolant doesnt leak. I ended up having no heat. The same mechanic told me to take a plastic hose crimping tool and no I have heat. I figured if anyone has this same problem, if you did read my comment this is a really good temporary solution.
love you scotty!
thanks Scotty!
Mr. Scotty, you're the truth!
Thanks for video.
Thanks Scotty.
easy peasy , good video
Scotty, you may be a salt of the earth mechanic (one of only two professions practiced lying on your back) but I have to give you special kudos for a normally "high brow" practice. I want to thank you for pronouncing "voilà" correctly. Hearing other people say "wallah" thinking it means the same thing is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.
I have a 2008 matrix myself - kinda noisy in the cabin anyway but this certainly helps; I got this same thing done a few days ago. Otherwise it's an excellent car.
this guy is awesome
1:58 scratched the paint
nrdesign1991 eagle eye
That spot is going to rust in a few months or years
nrdesign1991 I saw that too.
it most likely won't rust - it doesn't look that deep, I think base coat should hold up for a while.. but yeah, i saw it too, as soon as I saw him with those pliers, I was like, you're gonna scratch your paint.. and sure he did
I think, it was - in fact - Scotty's very own celica
That corvette must have some flat spots on thefront tyres after the skids..time for new tyres...Good video Scotty Kilmer, handy info thanks
I have an almost 10 years car. And this will be my top 1 on the list. It bothers me when I am on the highway and even just stopped on a windy day.
Awesome!
I am buying this for my 94 Celica. By the time I get finished insulating it, it will be as quite as an Lexus LS 400.
would you be able to an episode on tv cable adjustments for the transmission?
Love your show scotty..do you have a demo that shows how to pull out the window squeegee rubbers on a modern car..i have an old datsun and it's obvious but im afraid to do my camry 2001
Thanks for the video. Where can I get the seal for a 2002 Honda Civic?
doing a great job
you are very clever👍👍
These videos are so good very entertaining to watch keep up the good work
Hey Scott, quick question. The rubber piece around the door stopper gets wrinkled when I close the door as it comes into contact with the door stopper(pin). So this rubber is bent because of this and even if I straighten it, then after few hours it is the same. Would you recommend any lubricant that would help this rubber piece to stay straight without wrinkling again?
Oh I remember being recomended some sorta sealer goo when I changed mine. Guess it makes since, since that top portion isn't held on by clips or anything. A friend of mine with a 02 forester, his keeps falling off. 'On my 08' hyundai accent hatch? Cheapest I found was 80$ for both the outer and another 70$ for the inner rubber!'
I knew I'd find the answer here. Thanks
i put tow mirrors on my tundra and then put the factory mirrors back on and i have wind noise i adjusted the driver side 3 times so maybe its the weather strip? and are your thoughts 2010 tundra double cab
Good one
I freakin' love this guy!
He has a very nice personality which makes it more enjoyable to listen to, and watch with a sense of humor.
today an'gonna show'ya ......hahahah.....epic. You the boss man. Keep 'em comming.
Do you have any videos on whistling/air as a result of the door sagging and not creating a tight seal? I can’t seem to find a video that explains how I can DIY adjust/tighten my door.
I kind of have a similar problem but then again its not really a problem on my g37. Because when you get out of the car its low enough that sometimes out of habit you grab to close the door by the top and over time the rubber part will get a little lose, but I wasn't thinking about finding a light adhesive to apply to it to stop that from happening. Any suggestions?
Our 2006 Saturn Vue driver side door had that problem...feel down about a 1/2 inch near the top of the jamb....a few layers of electrical tape saved the 70 door cost for a new door seal on a car 11 years old at the time...l put a few lengths of tape on that trim it slipped over...still having working today....
scotty quit posting videos like this. lol this is the second time you posted a video that happend to my car only minutes ago. your reading my life. lol keep up the good work helping alot ouy here
Thanks sir....
hey I got to do this to my car on the driver and passenger so probably eighty bucks but it will be worth it to have it quiet again.
Damn man, left a scratch at 1:59 with those pliers!
Your videos are just awesum. Can you advise if I put a simple Foam in doors and floor to reduce road noise inside the car?
this is great!! i am having issues trying to find the type of seal for my scion xb 2011 or at least the type is uses for the door in the same location since its not quite the same one as show in video. anyone have an idea please let me know, thanks in advance!!
GREAT!!!
Hey...those are what I make for a living👍😎
Scotty, there is some way to polish a windshield? mine have a lot of stains "acid rain" and scratches from old owners bad wiperblades....there is something I can do....or The easy way is to replace The windshield?
thanks mate
water leaking through my speaker holes on both sides (2-door) thankfully they still work.
I remember putting electric grease on the connectors. I put some more for good measure.
must be a bad weather strip.
They’re so overpriced though
I have a 2007 Kia Rio5 and I am missing some from near the back window. There's the window on the door and another immobile window by the hatch. Can I buy replacement trim or do I need to get in touch with the dealer?

Hey Scotty. I need new weatherstripping but Toyota discontinued them for my 1992 celica. What can I do ?
Try rock Auto. They had the weather strip for my 84 f150
hi I bought a 05 automatic honda stream when I go on the motorway and drive from 80k there is a wind/whistling sound. sounds like it's coming from the dashboard area. sometimes when it's real windy outside I might hear it a small bit on and off if not going real fast but it's mostly when going fast it's real loud driving me mad. what do you think it is? I brought a mechanic with me when buying it he hooked it up too his computer too check car is ok and it didn't show anything. please do you have a idea what it could be??
Hey Scotty;
I drive a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 classic pickup, Just had a new resistor and new blower fan installed at a garage
now when I am driving, and pressing on the gas pedal, there is this high pitch sound coming from the blower fan.
Thing is not coming thru my radio speakers, heck my radio is not even connected.
I am going nutz, can you help?
I was waiting for you to just turn the radio up or something ha
I have a bad vacuume leak making a whistle from inside or around the brake booster. It whistles while running and continues to whistle after shutting the engine off for about 3 seconds till the brakes loose boost completely. It's a 2003 honda crv and everyone I've talked to said this is a 800 dollar part to replace parts + labor. Is this a bad dream or is this a seemingly likely/possible spendy part that could fix such an issue? If I leave my foot on the brake pedal while shutting the car off, it slowly stiffens and raises up in about 3 seconds (loosing brake boost, not brake line system pressure). I'm a senior engineering student at OSU cascades and this issue feels completely out of my hands. Advice is greatly appreciated.
I have several vehicles that need new door seals. one needs a rear window seal. do you have any suppliers that you can recommend Scotty?
Hey Scotty, can you cover how to replace a headlight? Preferably on a car around 2001.
Simple as sh!t, especially a 2001 vehicle, just do it! Have confidence in yourself.
Is there universal windo channel seals
I cant seem to get one for a gmc savana 3500 year 2015
Will this work on a 2002 Camry LE?
Easy tip
Hello Scotty I own a old Manual Renault Laguna 1998 16V 128HP, I think I ruined the clutch every time I press on it I get a bad burning smell. Do you think I can fix it by my self is it hard to do?
My 2009 F150 whistles "she'll be coming' round the mountain" at 100 kph, and there's not a mountain within 2000 Kilometers of here, how do I fix that?
Change for a real truck man !
howder1951 drive it using miles, not kilometers. American trucks aren't designed to use socialist measuring systems.
I changed the readout to miles and now it whistles Dixie!
You are so Lucky.
buy a chevy
does it matter what rubber seal I buy? I just got an 01 land cruiser and need to fix the seals.
my 2016 accord has a whistling noise, like a turbo noise when i accelerate, i dont remember hearing it with the oem air filter, im using stp now
my mom has a 2002 ford expedition and when he pass in bumps or cracked asphalt the car tend to squeak it's more loud in the back of the car so i thought it is a problem in the chassis of the car but i'm not completely sure about it
Scotty I need your help I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla ce and need to replace the inner door seal can you help me to get them or find the part number or how to fix it please
Scotty! Where can I find weatherstripping for a '96 Cutlass Supreme SL sedan?
Call a dealership, they should have the parts. Although it's a fairly old model, they might not have them anymore. You can maybe check in scrap yards if you can find them in good condition
Scott, I have a 2007 toyota yaris Base. How can I replace a broken air vent?
i turn da key to the on position i hear no sound coming from the fuel pump but it fire rite up with no problem on my 03 chevy impala
Scotty would this also work on a 95 tacoma? I spent 100 bucks on a seal at toyota and have no clue how to install it
Looking for Toyota 2006 Camry LE model I need doors, roof trim as well!
Scotty how do you take out the drain plug that has been broken and is still stuck inside?
I actually like the whistle noise it reminds me of old chevys speed over 80m
Any ideas on what makes a whistling sound under the hood?
Or, you can purchase some silicone spray such as Amsoil’s silicone spray for rubber and swell your door seals back up and while your at it, spray your window channels as well.
Scotty Kilmar can you please provide the link for purchase?
Where would I find a replacement door seal assembly at?
Door seals seem to wear out fast on my 2002 Tundra and 2009 Tacoma access cab model. I'm guessing same type of job... with the addition of the rear access door??
yes, same basic job
From where I can find the door rubbers for Lincoln towncar 1988?
do those B rubber deadening works?
I have a car that sat in the AZ desert for 30 years and those seals actually would crumble like dirt clods
Including the windshields gasket
