I love your comparison of proper skin care to brushing your teeth daily. It is SO true! I have consciously taken good care of my skin since my early 20s, (daily sunscreen, healthy eating, hydrating, not abusing my body with drugs or excessive alcohol and clean skin care products), and it really paid off when I had my facelift at just about 70. I did not have to have any laser resurfacing or chemical peels. Glowing, healthy skin is more youthifying than any facelift!
Thank you for sharing. It takes courage to share and be vulnerable in public, and you're the bravest! I love skincare, but realize it'll only do so much. While I haven't considered surgery, I may change my mind in 10 yrs, who knows? I've already decided that if and when my sagging hooded lids hit my lashline (about 1 mm to go), it's blepharoplasty for me. My vision is already bad, I don't want to deal with my lids getting in my sightline too! I really appreciate the completeness of this series, the effort to highlight expectations and the mental aspect, not just the physical.

You looked great before, but you look so much better and younger now. I had my upper eyelids done and HEALED by the 7th day! The scars never showed even 3-4 days after and had no real bruises. But I really need that platysma surgery. It makes a HUGE difference! You now look in your early 20ies! ❤ Great decision!

First of all, you just look beautiful in the most natural, healthy way! I believe your result was so successful (while still being utterly natural) because of your excellent skincare. I'm tempted to do something like this, sharing many of your same issues. One thing that might be too sensitive to bring up, but which I would really like to know (to see if I could ever swing it), is an approximation of cost, and a pain/discomfort summary. I thought your recovery was VERY impressive, and your results were beautiful.
Hi my friend! Ok so my cost was around 15-16k for everything. I had very little pain. I took one (literally one) pain pill in the very beginning but I found that I just didn’t need them. The swelling was definitely uncomfortable. Not in a pain way, but like when pants are too tight or the toe box of formal shoes starts to bug….uncomfortable. I didn’t do any fat grafting- but I do hear that that causes more pain. Nice to see you lady!😍

I never took care of my skin all these 40+ years until just a year ago and wow it makes a world of a difference! I understand that surgeries and treatments can help the face but good skin care makes the greatest difference for me. I am so glad to see my skin improve in a mere year! With a platysma lift I tell everybody in my envirment also at my work i did a necklift !! I dont make secrets about it !! Why should i ? There are many woman who whish it to do but dont dare it !!! He just did fat injections - taking fat from my waist, and put it in my temples, brows, and cheeks. Super easy, local anesthesia. The goal is to stimulate cell regeneration and adding the adipose tissue, he says the fat dissolves, but the stem cells will stay. I am 51, and ready for the blephs and deep plane lift. He did this as the first step. So far, it has been 3 weeks today, and I am loving what he did.

I'm so glad that you're here. If I could go back to my 25 year old self and change anything it would be SUNSCREEN. It is the single best skincare tool we have in our entire arsenal (FAR more important than surgery :)). I am hoping that the overfilling trend is going away...It effected my generation (I think we were test subjects a decade ago lol) and I don't want it to effect yours!

You have given me lots of valuable information that I will be taking with me when I see my doctor for my second consult for the lower facelift. I now know the full dynamics of how our faces “fall” which gives me a better idea of why my doctor recommended a SMAS procedure to address my jowls and neck droop! I also had fat removed from my neck years ago and as I’ve aged, my neck has no fat, just loose skin!😫 You look wonderful! 🎉 Thank you for this great video! I know you are probably not going to want to hear this but I think it interesting and makes me feel I made the right decisions to ignored the creams and devices and go for surgery. I also have had the same surgery as you. I think that there is no amount of creams etc that could have had made the difference that surgery has made. I appreciate you have been open with your experience and applaud you for being so open. Good for you Penny. I went to Mexico and had amazing surgeon in Puerto Vallarta who did make look refreshed but not done. Far less than in Canada and was trained by the leader in plastics in the World.
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Yes, I have been much better trying to enhance my 'investment' by using products that will help my skin. I had 1.5 inches taken from my neck as I lost a lot of weight many years ago and no amount of products could have helped that area. I am now a capable DIY'er and do my own botox and hyaluronic acid fillers, as well as PCL threads. Thank you again for sharing. Your channel is very informative for me.

Oh wow, your journey is so similar to mine. I started out with Kybella, in my early 50s and now at 58 I have had a deep plane lower facelift and neck lift. I didn’t get my eyes done but I’m thinking of doing that next. I am 2 1/2 months post surgery and I still have some swelling. My surgeon said I will be able to see better results after 3 months. I like the way I look because I definitely had some double chin to get rid of, but I really feel he could have defined my jaw and neck little more. I would love to hear your thoughts on where you were and how you felt at the three month mark. My other issue is my skin broke apart on my neck during the time w/ the post surgery compression wrap. Now I have a big scar. He says he will treat it w/ micro needling. It’s narley lol.
You look amazing, after a large weight loss I now have loose skin under my chin that makes me self conscious. Thank you for posting this process I know I will need this same procedure.

Does your neck feel tight after the lift.?do you have any residual sensations? Two women friends of mine had neck/ face lift ages 53 and 72 both women experienced uncomfortable tightness long after surgery. Two different surgeons as well. Love your eye result your results are so beautiful and natural! 💗

I didn't see a lot of swelling or bruising due to the deep plans lift. Is that accurate? (I know the upper lid lift would cause the bruising around the eyes. )

20k and up depending on what other procedures you do and where in the USA you do it
You can get it cheaper, and just as good, in other parts of the world. The USA is wildly inflated with medical stuff.

First of all, you just look beautiful in the most natural, healthy way! I believe your result was so successful (while still being utterly natural) because of your excellent skincare. I'm tempted to do something like this, sharing many of your same issues. One thing that might be too sensitive to bring up, but which I would really like to know (to see if I could ever swing it), is an approximation of cost, and a pain/discomfort summary. I thought your recovery was VERY impressive, and your results were beautiful.

Ok so my cost was around 15-16k for everything. I had very little pain. I took one (literally one) pain pill in the very beginning but I found that I just didn’t need them. The swelling was definitely uncomfortable. Not in a pain way, but like when pants are too tight or the toe box of formal shoes starts to bug….uncomfortable. I didn’t do any fat grafting- but I do hear that that causes more pain.

But that's within the realm of possibility--although it would have to be budgeted and only under certain circumstances. I really need to write a bestselling novel or such, I need more disposable income. :-) I'm so surprised you only had to take one pain pill, that says a lot about this doctor, who I liked very much!

Wow the surgery has done wonderful thing for you Penny! Looks good! I agree about the skincare. I never took care of my skin all these 40+ years until just a year ago and wow it makes a world of a difference! I understand that surgeries and treatments can help the face but good skin care makes the greatest difference for me. I am so glad to see my skin improve in a mere year! BTW we are super super close in age down to the year and month :)

gosh you looked fantastic. I looked an absolute fright. My face swelled like crazy immediately, my eyes were like slits and I had a mass of angry purple bruising especially around my neck. I'm almost 3 weeks now and feeling better but still not ready for the shop. Luckily I work from home

Your honesty makes me trust you more and I will definitely follow your channel. I also think that there is no shame in doing plastic surgery. He just did fat injections - taking fat from my waist, and put it in my temples, brows, and cheeks. Super easy, local anesthesia. The goal is to stimulate cell regeneration and adding the adipose tissue, he says the fat dissolves, but the stem cells will stay. I am 51, and ready for the blephs and deep plane lift. He did this as the first step. So far, it has been 3 weeks today, and I am loving what he did.

I'm so glad that you're here. If I could go back to my 25 year old self and change anything it would be SUNSCREEN. It is the single best skincare tool we have in our entire arsenal (FAR more important than surgery :)). I am hoping that the overfilling trend is going away...It effected my generation (I think we were test subjects a decade ago lol) and I don't want it to effect yours!

Thank you for this video! So timely for me! I have an upper bleph procedure scheduled on January 18 and a lower facelift soon after. You have given me lots of valuable information that I will be taking with me when I see my doctor for my second consult for the lower facelift. I now know the full dynamics of how our faces “fall” which gives me a better idea of why my doctor recommended a SMAS procedure to address my jowls and neck droop! I also had fat removed from my neck years ago and as I’ve aged, my neck has no fat, just loose skin!😫 You look wonderful! 🎉 Thank you for this great video! I know you are probably not going to want to hear this but I think it interesting and makes me feel I made the right decisions to ignored the creams and devices and go for surgery. I also have had the same surgery as you. I think that there is no amount of creams etc that could have had made the difference that surgery has made. I appreciate you have been open with your experience and applaud you for being so open. Good for you Penny. I went to Mexico and had amazing surgeon in Puerto Vallarta who did make look refreshed but not done. Far less than in Canada and was trained by the leader in plastics in the World.
Oh I agree, no cream will give a surgery effect. But on the flip side…no surgery will give good skin. That’s what the skincare does. 🤷♀️
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Yes, I have been much better trying to enhance my 'investment' by using products that will help my skin. I had 1.5 inches taken from my neck as I lost a lot of weight many years ago and no amount of products could have helped that area. I am now a capable DIY'er and do my own botox and hyaluronic acid fillers, as well as PCL threads. Thank you again for sharing. Your channel is very informative for me.

Oh wow, your journey is so similar to mine. I started out with Kybella, in my early 50s and now at 58 I have had a deep plane lower facelift and neck lift. I didn’t get my eyes done but I’m thinking of doing that next. I am 2 1/2 months post surgery and I still have some swelling. My surgeon said I will be able to see better results after 3 months. I like the way I look because I definitely had some double chin to get rid of, but I really feel he could have defined my jaw and neck little more. I would love to hear your thoughts on where you were and how you felt at the three month mark. My other issue is my skin broke apart on my neck during the time w/ the post surgery compression wrap. Now I have a big scar. He says he will treat it w/ micro needling. It’s narley lol.
This doesn’t sound like a good outcome. Hope everything turns out.

Two women friends of mine had neck/ face lift ages 53 and 72 both women experienced uncomfortable tightness
long after surgery. Two different surgeons as well.

I didn't see a lot of swelling or bruising due to the deep plans lift. Is that accurate? (I know the upper lid lift would cause the bruising around the eyes. )
