I’m 6 days out from my facelift. Excellent “only facelifts” surgeon. I watched so many videos beforehand, but the reality is way more discomfort than the videos will admit to. Not to discourage people but to give a true picture that it is not a walk in the park. This will be my ONLY facelift. Enough said.
Debra Leonard I’m 5 weeks out and still have the tightness in front of my ears, along with muffled hearing. The tightness under my chin is still there but minimized now. Still some swelling underneath my jaw line. Otherwise I am back to all my normal activities, including weight lifting at the gym. Thanks for asking!
I am one week out had surgery facelift yes it is discomfort but bearable it’s surgery dear we need to take time to recover I was bit scared after 3 days but day by day feel I’m in recovery side so discomfort Yes pain Yes swelling Big Yes recover very slow but finger crossed it ll b normal soon :)
Excellent video, Dr. Niamtu! You covered a lot more than my own surgeon did. I'm glad I discovered your videos because they helped me not to be so worried & to remain patient. I'm almost 2 wks post-op and getting my sutures removed tomorrow. Things are coming along, just as you said. You are truly amazing💕
As an RN, you are a Doctor I would enjoy working with. As a patient, you are a doctor I want to see. You are also charming and handsome. Thank you so much for creating this explanation!
Thank you, sir, for taking the time to make these videos. You have no idea how helpful they have been. I watched up until a day before my surgery and I'm back watching again two weeks after my necklift - just reviewing, making sure I'm doing everything right. All went great and recovery is going well. You really do have to listen to exactly what your doctor tells you. Bless you, Sir. Pam in Virginia
Thank you so much Dr. Joe.... my surgery is next Monday, Sept. 23, 2019...my 63 birthday....my gift to myself... my husband has been watching this video in particular to have an idea of what to expect... I thank you and my Dr. For putting his mind at ease! Your videos are the Best! 🥰
Thank you! I had deep plane neck lift and blethroplasty 9 days ago. I have a slight mouth droop and affected speech. Your video has helped me so much. Now I will just wait!
I don’t want to take up anymore of your time but I just have to say how impressed and appreciative I am of your willingness to actually answer questions posted here even when you must be so busy. I’m now on day 10 of recovery and still have a ways to go but you have helped me so much to get through this. It can be a little bit scary! You are an absolutely awesome doctor!
@@jniamtuiii Hello doctor. I had a facelift 4 years ago (periosteal detachment of the maxilla with rugin to the infraorbital rim with anchoring of the tissues with resorbable threads). The surgeon pulled too much I think on the tissues, muscles and skin, now I have a joker smile and my cheeks and cheekbones are very short and deformed. The lips go up too much as well as the tissues. Is there a solution to loosen the face, remove the pulls and prevent my lips and cheeks from rising too high and crushing the rest of the face when I smile? Thanks
I’m on day 4 of recovery and you just answered all of May questions including some things I was a little worried about, I have a very good doctor but can’t be calling her all of the time so I appreciate this video very much!
@@jamiegreer2514 Hi Jamie. I just passed the 6 month mark & I’d like to reassure you. I had a few things going on that were concerning to me. But like my doctor told me, we just cut through skin, muscles, & nerves! You’ve got to give everything a chance to heal. I think for some people it doesn’t take very long to heal and for others, it takes a little more time. I’m a bit older so I fell into that latter category but I can tell you, now, at the six-month point, I am extremely happy with my results. I am SO glad I did it. No more saggy neck, no more horrible bags under my eyes, no more saggy eyelids. And I still look very natural. I will admit I felt like I pestered my doctor quite a bit but she was always very kind and reassuring. She also would have me come into the office so that she could see what was going on and make sure everything was OK. I was very appreciative of her patience with me. So whether you are a slow healer or a fast healer, you are only at 3 days. I wish you good luck although I am sure it’s going to turnout great!
Thank you for that!! All the swelling from the laser under the eyes just adds another layer....it is only day 3 and I can’t wait to be 6 months in....if I survive 😂
Day 3 here and this video really helps to reinforce what my surgeon said; but sometimes one needs some more encouragement. I was in a lot of discomfort first two days and needed the pain meds. Icing is helping with the swelling. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
Hi Dr. Niamtu! I am 8 days post deep plane facelift. I'm so happy you mentioned the "tunnel" the drains may leave because I have a tunnel where my drains were. I have been doing light lymphatic massage in this area and hoping they resolve. It is scary... Thanks for your videos. You seem like such a wonderful surgeon!💙
Very grateful for the detailed explanations as I head in to my first facelift. Your videos helped me feel much more comfortable and able to ask intelligent questions of my plastic surgeon.
I love how natural your patients come out looking. After watching several videos it’s clear that people look much more rejuvenated just by having their necks taken care of. As a 59-year-old woman I could certainly use that area taken care of
I think we all appreciate how humble you are without denigrate other surgeons. I notice on Dr Amir Karams channel he always implies that his techniques are unique to him rather than just being honest. I think your videos really add to this World and you leave it a better place
Thank you sooooo much for making these videos!! I feel like you’re literally talking directly to me!! You have addressed so many of my concerns!! Thank you !! You have really given me peace of mind!! God bless!!
Just stumbled upon this and happy that I did! Lower facelift scheduled February 13… in 3 weeks and no one really to talk to so I turned to the Internet. This is exactly what I needed..thank you Dr Niamtu!
Joe Niamtu 3rd day recovering and all is well... my recovery symptoms are just as you explain in detail. My surgeon also has been great but your videos give me that extra boost of confidence to watch during healing 😊 Thank you!
@lorraine was your lower facelift all that you expected. I am 52 and I am researching Doctors to also get a lower facelift. How much did yours cost and would you recommend your doctor?
I’m only 16 hours out of surgery my drains are awful can’t sleep the pain is just annoying can’t wait for these drains to come out ! How was your recovery pain wise please help
Thank you for making this video. Great info. One thing I might add is that docs should prepare patients mentally ahead of time for the compression garment if they plan to place one on them. I flat out panicked when I woke up and felt like a deaf, swollen human Q-tip. I was so claustrophobic, could not hear or see well because of the eye ointment and the bandages covering my head. The pressure on my ears and forehead was excruciating. The following day a less comprehensive and removable version was placed but that first 24 hours was a living hell. It was a 24 hour straight panic attack. I am at day 7 of recovery now and feeling much better but that was more than discomfort. For me, it was terrifying.
I had a compression bandage and drains for four days and this was like a living Hell. No sleep for those days made it all worse! I was not prepared for that at all. The small one they later give you to wear 24/7 is also uncomfortable especially for sleep. Some improvement should be made with these bandages to make it more tolerable. I am still only sleeping 3-4 hrs at night because of swelling. It is day 8 for me after face and neck lift. My left upper lip has problems and when I eat and talk I look like a stroke victim. The staff says, "oh that's normal" it will improve. I pray that is true. Also one of my eyes will not close all the way after upper lid bleph. This is all kind of scary. I pray these things resolve soon. I wish I had gone to Dr. Joe in Virginia. He has such great bedside manner!
Thankyou for this video! You addressed all of my concerns. I am only 3 days out and I have all of these issues. It makes me feel good that all of these issues are “normal”.
People who haven’t had surgery before don’t know how our bodies react. I have (I had 3 c-sections) and I was lots younger when I did. As I’m approaching 70 (egads!) things take longer to heal. I wasn’t even thinking of having a face lift until recently when I had the wherewithal to do it. Now, as I’m recovering, I know the magic is happening and I’m being patient and following my doctor’s instructions. And, already, no more turkey neck!
i just had a facelift and where my sideburns are is really full and swollen balloon like is this normal in front of the ears? if yes how long does it to pass?
Thank you so much for this! I am 6 days post op, and everything you mentioned are things I do worry about in this recovery time. I appreciate having this video to answer my questions and make me relax about things and just give it time. I know recovery is weeks, it is just scary to see your face so different, swollen, and not the same in some areas. I am still nervous. lol
Thank you for this awesome information Dr. Joe Niamtu. I'm thinking of having a facelift and you made me feel more ready with your explanations, good vibes, natural and simple explanations. I wish I live there so you could be my Surgeon. Thanks again, have a beautiful life.
Thank you so much for explaining things. I'm having my neck lift and deep plane a week from today. I have listened to your videos and they have been very helpful. My surgeon has told me pretty much you have said on what he's going to do and what to expect. You have reassured me and I do t feel as anxious. anymore. I'm trying to prepare myself mentally because my imagination goes wild. You have helped with that too. Thank you 😊 💓
I love seeing the before and after shots of a facelift, makes me dream of having my own if only I had the means. I think the one thing that I notice in all the images I've see, the one thing that has the most striking affect in giving a person a more youthful appearance, is the neck-lift. The years just magically melt away from that one procedure than any other. Compliments to you, Dr. Niamfu, very nice work indeed.
So grateful for this info! Did a full facelift & forehead, upper and lower lids three days ago. No pain at all, but I have no sense in my ears or cheeks. Your info comfort me. My surgeon in Sweden is the best I think, dr Claes Lauritzen, a worldknown craniofacial surgeon.
Wonderfull explanation…Im from Spain and just have done a minilift. You hace adressed all my concerns and complaints, so now I am much relaxed…thanks a lot!!!
Watched a lot of your videos. Helped me a lot. It's day 5 since my surgery. I'm doing fine. My surgeon did a good Job. My ears look perfect... something I was concerned about
...just wanted to give a big “Shout Out” to you as well Dr. Niamtu....it was after watching your educational and detail on your videos that helped me prepare as well for this Procedure! Thanks so much🌹
Hi doctor Niamtu. Thank you for all your videos! It would be interesting to make a video on '10 most common complaints after (a bad) facelift.. Like what they are Not happy about about after the recovery... Thank You
Thank you so much Dr. Joe! And THANK YOU all!! I'm getting my mini face lift and brow lift in January. Reading all your comments are helping so much👍🥰 ( I'm 65 and ready😄) Keep the them coming , LOL! I like to know what to expect. I know everyone's experiences are different. The encouragement is GREAT👍 Like some of you have said, it is a bit scary but I'm also excited! The things we do, huh😅 Merry Christmas everyone🎅
@@donnamyers2025 Lol, that's what I said. My Doctor suggests you keep everything on your body from chest up as a solid unit, like a robot. You cannot bend over, reach, push, pull or lift anything or even turn your head till doctor says. Maybe 2 weeks, maybe more. You will have restrictions on your activities and if you have your eyes done, probably won't be able to open them for a few days. You will need someone to get you ice packs and water and food and medicine. You will probably be medicated and will have post operative instructions you won't even care about reading because of the anesthesia and drugs. You won't be able to use reading glasses at first, so you won't even be able to read your medicine bottles or instructions. Everything has to be sanitized to keep off infection. It's hard to drink and eat because your throat may be sore from the intubation and your muscles and skin are pulled tight and stitched up so you wont be able to open your mouth or chew like normal. You won't be used to not being able to use your neck and you'll have a hard time finding things. You'll need help walking to and from the bathroom at first. Like the video said if you are young and have a little work done, light recovery. But face it, most people that facelift are not young and even a half face lift is a big, big job.
I had a face/neck lift almost two months ago. I am extremely happy with the results and happy with my fast recovery. I took pain meds for the first 4 days, after that I could put up with the discomfort, but it really wasn’t that bad at all. I got yellow under my eyes and purple around my lower lip, but only lasted a few days. After two weeks I was feeling and looking like a million dollars 🤩🙏🏼.! The face kinda relaxed a little bit, but I knew that from the beginning. I loved feeling the tightness on my cheeks during the first two weeks, now it just feels normal again, only some numbness on my ears, otherwise everything is great! I am so thankful, so grateful for having this procedure done, and now I can enjoy my early retirement in style💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
That is exactly how it should go, that’s fantastic and I’m happy for you. Can you say who did yours? How much laxity did you have prior to surgery? Not sure if there’s an ideal time to do it.
Li think you give great advice I live in spain so to far to come to you so I do hope I have got a good surgeon here in Budapest thanks for your advice and so helpful. Grasias .
I had a neck lift 5 months ago and your videos are helping me a lot because I'm very concerned at this time. I bled and next morning they had to do something again in the surgery room bellow one of my ears on the side my eye was completely closed and bruised. This side is way much better now, but the other side is giving me a hard time, because of hematoma first and seroma later. A couple times the doctor used a syringe with a needle tu pull some yellow fluid, but he told me to use warm compresses for this to disappear and to massage the area. I'm doing both, every single day. Today, 5 months after my surgery, this side of my neck has multiple bumps but they are very hard and my neck is very stiff. My ear on this side is numbed from the top to the middle, but the earlobe is painful an additional was pushed to the front of my face when it was rearranged. My jowls are sagging again, too. It seems like that area was not addressed at all. The inflammation behind my ear is there and honestly I don't know if I need more time for the total recovery due to the trauma; that's why I'm waiting to see if I make some improvements, before calling the doctor. Could you, dear doctor offer your recommendations? I will appreciate your words! Thank you!
Sounds like you experienced some complications but you were entitled to worry and make queries with regards to your recovery. I certainly hope you did and that you're feeling much better today. Would like to hear how you're doing...
Dr. Niamtu, I had upper and lower eyelids done, and per the doctors insisting, I had a brow lift. My left eyelid is still very different, higher, than the right one. The lid feels like it is sucked back in the socket. I can feel it and you ca n see it in pictures. I wear glasses to hide my eyes to other people even though I could have lasik. I wonder if you have ever had any patients with an outcome like this? I went back to the Dr. and expressed my concern and told him I was very unhappy. I thought he would fix them to match. He did not, and actually told me to leave! My left eye is still very dry and never did relax, which he said it might. That’s been twenty one years ago. I’ve never lived a day that I’ve looked in the mirror at my eyes and wished I had not done something different. I had just survived breast cancer and I wanted to go have the eye lift to gift myself. I’ve just lost my husband of fifty- five years, so should I even try to get surgery now? I’m seventy one. He was so supportive and always said I could do whatever I wanted but he loved me to the moon 🌝 😢😢💕. I live in Kentucky, not too far from you.
I am happy to look at pictures if you go to www.lovethatface.com and to Ask Dr. Joe you can send them and explanation. If it is simple cosmetic, no problem, if it is reconstructive, then may be a different plan.
Joe Niamtu ive just had a face lift in Turky, After reading lots of reviews a little too late, I wish I never came here for it, I have my bandages taken off tomorrow and I hope it’s success, It helped me watching your video and given me a glimmer of hope.
Thank you for this video! I’m 5 weeks post lower face and neck surgery. Everything is healing great snd I’m happy with the results. My only concerns is my cheeks still feel puffy. I eat pretty healthy, but should sodium and sugar be eliminated or reduced during recovery to reduce swelling?
I would def go with you for my next procedure if I were to have one. My PS just said "he talked to me a lot after my surgery.." actually it was 3 CALLS IN 5 WEEKS!!!! Wow, he could never be a lawyer! haha. You seem very compassionate, I had a rough go of it, didn't really know what I was in for and the first 2 weeks were extremely challenging. He said "he wasn't my therapist" DOC, I WAS 15 SECONDS OUT OF SURGERY WHEN I CALLED, OF COURSE I WAS FREAKED OUT!!! He definitely needs some training in the communication department, or, maybe that's just how he runs his practice. Not for me.
I had a brow lift , deep plane facelift , lower beplh and neck lift. I was never really numb and had moderate to severe pain and I had so many people including my doctor telling me there's no way I could be in so much pain as I should be numb.
Pain response is variable. Some patients have little discomfort while others have significant pain. I treat treat the symptoms as they are usually real.
I had a facelift, upper eyelid, and doctor placed two stripes in my temples for a browlift that evaporate in time (do not know the medical term) two months ago and still recovering. My neck still feels like it is being pulled and the skin is numb. I need to put lotion every night to sooth the tightening feeling. Have seen improvement, BUT my turkey neck is still noticeable and the jowls still remain. When I look in the mirror it looks like I need another facelift in those areas. My turkey neck is still loose and still have jowls. After seeing photos of the doctors' results, all photos had smooth necklines. I thought all this extra skin would be removed. My Doctor said to wait 6 months and give it time to heal. He did mention two technics when I was in tears, stated "plasma in my skin on the neck" and "thread for jowls". Just feel this should have been improved after spending so much money. I am not looking to suffer with needles. I decided on having a facelift so it would be a one time procedure, I had a hematoma on my neck near my ear two days after surgery that didn't make recovery go well either. The doctor painfully drained it three times and it is still tender. The surgery did improve my eyes and appearance and I look well rested. The doctor said to give it time and I am patient and doing that. But my main disappointment was my horrible turkey neck and jowls. Is this common with many surgeries? I now have to be content or correct these. I am not in favor to experience staple removals again which were so painful for me and honestly for my husband who was my caregiver to go through this again. I do like my doctor and decided on him because of my consultation and his experience. He is very comforting, and he did improve my face. I just feel that somehow the skin could have been pulled up more to flatten my folds and jowls. Was I expecting too much to have a smooth chin line for my age? I understand everyone has difference circumstances. I just wished I saw your video before all this and would have made the trip to Virgina. Do you have any suggestions? I do realize that any decision I make I need to wait a good year to heal. Note I am 72 and do fear going through this again. I would gladly forward you photos. Kind regards
About 4% of my facelifts (over 100 cases a year) will need a revision. Sometimes patients have very elastic skin and they simply need a revision. However 96% do not. Numbness and tightness can take a year to resolve. If you have excess neck skin and jowls, in my experience, you need more surgery. Impossible to say without seeing you in person. Speak to you doc. Most are reasonable and want the result to represent their skill
Had facelift with another richmond plastic surgeon on April 22nd. Today is July 3rd and my ears are still extremely tender. I have lumps in my cheeks and my left eyelid still hurts.
Excellent content thank you for sharing. I’m not getting a lot of information from my doctor so I’m having to do a lot of UA-cam research. I guess that should’ve been a little bit of a red flag for me upfront and choosing a more communicative physician but I do appreciate your wise words of wisdom thank you .
Thank You for this information. What still confuses me, is the method using the incision around the ear, vs what is called the ponytail lift but doesn't use that method to make incisions so there is less scarring. But, is it as effective?
@@jniamtuiii I agree, but that Dr uses small incisions, so you don't have that large incision around the ear. I am just not sure how you can access the muscle properly without that? It's a big decision and I am trying to do my homework. I have a Dr here in Los Angeles that I will probably have the Deep Plane done by, but making sure I am doing the right procedure.
I had surgery on 12-28-22 and I only took the pain pills for 24 hours. I had a lower facelift (SMAS/Deep Plane mix) neck lift, upper eyelid, and C02 under my eyes done. I do have the fullness under my chin and my neck is wide on the sides due to an aggressive neck tightening (which is positive). But in no way do I look smooth and ready for photos. I would say at day 14 I look ok for showing up in public with makeup. I've had minimal bruising from the start, it's been the swelling for me. I'm in my later forties. My Dr. gave me to GO to exercise and said that I can use weights but to be careful. 👍🏻👍🏻😁😃
You talked about the foods/supplements to stop eating to help with bleeding/bruising. I stopped all of that before surgery. Now that I am at day 8 of recovery, can I now eat garlic and some of those foods that I cut out before surgery? I was not sure if you were talking about post-surgery.
Is it common for a facelift to be swollen and for one eye to look swollen and so much different than the other 3 weeks later. Or should you be looking pretty good by then
@@jniamtuiii they had to change my anti rejection meds (one of them prevents the skin from healing) but apart from that anasthesia was fine with it. I just ran across your channel yesterday and your videos seem to be the best, most comprehensive ones out there. 👍
Day 14 here and l went through all the symptoms this video mentioned , such as bruise, swelling, numbness, stiffness etc and most of them are diminishing … but one thing is bothering me , that’s the bumps I have on my right side of the face, the first couple days I can only feel them when I touch them with hand, now that the overall swelling of the face is diminishing, and I can actually see those bumps now… I am not quite sure if those bumps are getting better from day one to now… but is doctor Joe said it’s ok to have some bumps after facelift surgery, then I will stay put and let nature mother does her job… keep my fingers crossed… thanks for the great video, Dr. Joe.
I am 4 months past surgery and my neck feels tight, also I have a feeling of compression all around my face, I had a deep plane facelift. This is causing me discomfort and agony. I am a bit worried at this point since pretty much everyone says that this discomfort usually subsides without a few weeks to a few months. Should I be concerned?
I cannot provide medical advice, but I can tell you that some patients feel more tightness than others And sometimes it can take over a year for everything to relax. Usually it's much sooner than that, but the whole purpose of a face and necklift is to tighten things. Some patients tolerate it less than others, but in the end my patients all seem to do well
You’re by far my favorite surgeon on UA-cam! I will be coming to see you one day soon! 😉 I also turned my mom onto your channel and she also adores you! ❤❤❤

Hi doctor. I had a lower facelift about six weeks ago. The front of my ears are still a bit swollen and puffy. My concern is I still have a pucker of skin above my jawline. My surgeon, who I greatly respect, assures me it will soften with time. Has any of this been seen in your practice. Thank you.
Hi everyone🥰 I'm 10 days out from having a mini- face lift and brow lift. One thing I'm noticing is that there is not much talk about the numbness afterward. I know with any surgery there is numbness. How long do most people have that? Can anyone tell me about their journey with the numbness? Thank you🩷
I am one year in and still having tightness coming from my ears to the muscle in my neck, numbness in my neck. I can’t find answers. I am concerned it will never heal…I massage the muscles in my neck daily trying to loosen it but I don’t want to undo what he did. Frustrating is big here…I love my results, just don’t want to have to feel it every single day a year later. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
glad it helped!
Thank you so much for this video…very reassuring. Having my lower facelift with chin implant surgery July 5th, 2023. 😊
Hi Dr.
In my experience they always resolve :)
@@jniamtuiii Thank you for your reply! How long does it usually take to resolve?
Very grateful for the detailed explanations as I head in to my first facelift. Your videos helped me feel much more comfortable and able to ask intelligent questions of my plastic surgeon.
Great to hear!
I love how natural your patients come out looking. After watching several videos it’s clear that people look much more rejuvenated just by having their necks taken care of. As a 59-year-old woman I could certainly use that area taken care of
Thanks for watching.
I think we all appreciate how humble you are without denigrate other surgeons. I notice on Dr Amir Karams channel he always implies that his techniques are unique to him rather than just being honest. I think your videos really add to this World and you leave it a better place
Thanks a lot and thanks for watching
Thank you sooooo much for making these videos!! I feel like you’re literally talking directly to me!! You have addressed so many of my concerns!! Thank you !! You have really given me peace of mind!! God bless!!

Thank you for all you do! The information you have given is priceless and I really appreciate it
You are so welcome
Just stumbled upon this and happy that I did! Lower facelift scheduled February 13… in 3 weeks and no one really to talk to so I turned to the Internet. This is exactly what I needed..thank you Dr Niamtu!
glad it helped!
@@gn4055 Yes, I would recommend Dr. Wethe. It is his specialty and my lower face just continues to improve!
I am sure you will continue to improve. I can be a demanding recovery.
Something to think about?
I never thought about the post-operative anxiety
I could understand anxiety the first 24 hours after
I had a compression bandage and drains for four days and this was like a living Hell.
Glad it helped!
Thank you, Dr. Joe for talking about the numbness!
My pleasure!
Follow those instructions :)
i just had a facelift and where my sideburns are is really full and swollen balloon like is this normal in front of the ears? if yes how long does it to pass?
Thank you so much for this! I am 6 days post op, and everything you mentioned are things I do worry about in this recovery time. I appreciate having this video to answer my questions and make me relax about things and just give it time. I know recovery is weeks, it is just scary to see your face so different, swollen, and not the same in some areas. I am still nervous. lol
You got this!
Thanks for this - I am 8 days out, and this was very helpful.

Desert rose, how did it go?
@@ltaurus2105 it's been a year and absolutely love it!
Thank you so much for commenting
So grateful for this info! Did a full facelift & forehead, upper and lower lids three days ago. No pain at all, but I have no sense in my ears or cheeks. Your info comfort me. My surgeon in Sweden is the best I think, dr Claes Lauritzen, a worldknown craniofacial surgeon.

How did it turn out?
How long will you need your caregiver before the patient can do their own aftercare?
Most faceift patients use a caregiver for the first several days.
Why would you need a caregiver ?
Thank you for the video, super helpful and educational. What was the pre-and post op scar cream that you said?
Thanks the scar gel is Stratamed, you can get in most drug stores or Amazon.
Great channel, Dr. Joe. You always provide such comprehensive information in your videos that I’m sure are extremely helpful and important to people.
Thanks so much
I had a face/neck lift almost two months ago.
Glad it worked out for you :)
That is exactly how it should go, that’s fantastic and I’m happy for you. Can you say who did yours? How much laxity did you have prior to surgery? Not sure if there’s an ideal time to do it.
I’m at 3 weeks & still in a lot of pain !! I hope it stops soon ! Very worried

Thank you!
It usually works out fine, just follow your doctors treatment

How do you like your results? I'm 42 and considering a mini lift
It's ok the results?
Thank you for this video! I’m 5 weeks post lower face and neck surgery. Everything is healing great snd I’m happy with the results. My only concerns is my cheeks still feel puffy. I eat pretty healthy, but should sodium and sugar be eliminated or reduced during recovery to reduce swelling?
I have my patients reduce those for the first 2 weeks
Not for me.
Not your therapist!!!!!.....................that is pretty cold.
Thanks for making this video - hopefully I will look pretty soon because I feel so ugly now. My ears are like the way you said and is driving me crazy
Thanks for watching
Most are reasonable and want the result to represent their skill
thanks for the information. I’m going next week. My surgeon’s office did not tell me any of this.
I hope you have a great recovery

Excellent content thank you for sharing. I’m not getting a lot of information from my doctor so I’m having to do a lot of UA-cam research. I guess that should’ve been a little bit of a red flag for me upfront and choosing a more communicative physician but I do appreciate your wise words of wisdom thank you .
Glad it was helpful!
Thank You for this information. What still confuses me, is the method using the incision around the ear, vs what is called the ponytail lift but doesn't use that method to make incisions so there is less scarring. But, is it as effective?
I think the ponytail lift is marketing hype. A real facelift is called a "facelift" :)
Sounds like you are on track Erika!
Hi Doctor Joe i did mid face lift and blepharoplasty upper eye now 4 th day but i cant hear in my right ear is this normal thank you
Not really, you need to ask your surgeon. Could be dried blood or some other obstruction, or unrelated.
That happened to me also. Several days after surgery I found some gauge tucked in there. Lol
You talked about the foods/supplements to stop eating to help with bleeding/bruising. I stopped all of that before surgery. Now that I am at day 8 of recovery, can I now eat garlic and some of those foods that I cut out before surgery? I was not sure if you were talking about post-surgery.
I tell my patients they can eat or take what ever they wish after 7 days
Another great video! Thank you!

Some patients tolerate it less than others, but in the end my patients all seem to do well
Wonderful explanations! Where do you poractice?

Ok. Richmond Virginia... How long should I stay there after surgery?
usually 5-7 days
3 weeks out. Still as numb as day one. Very nervous
In my experience it can take over a year for all feeling to return, usually not that long, but sometimes is.
Hi everyone🥰
I'm 10 days out from having a mini- face lift and brow lift.
One thing I'm noticing is that there is not much talk about the numbness afterward. I know with any surgery there is numbness.
How long do most people have that?
Can anyone tell me about their journey with the numbness?
Thank you🩷
With my it usually improves over 90 days but in some cases it can take a year, you surgeon can explain further. :)
Thanks
Have spoken to your surgeon?
where are you? I'm sorta interested in just the neck. Would like to learn about the costs.
No such thing as "just neck" although some docs do it , it is like painting 2 doors on a 4 door car. Shortcuts are never good, if and when you do it, do it right. We are in Richmond, Virginia 804-934-3223

Also have large red scars around the ears which are very red, it has been 6 months since the operation.
