I've been contemplating converting my 01 E53 to rwd for the reasons you mentioned - more MPG, smoother driving and less potential problems. Never need 4wd anyway.
Hello, i just got a e92 330xd with auto transmision. Previous owner removed some components from the front and now it's rwd but, the car has all the codes on the dash because its not been coded as rwd car. I found out there's an app called xDelete. You buy license for your Xdrive car in my case e92 witch is 130 euros and you do the coding yourself (I mean the app does it). Now, was thinking about doing this but when i took my car to the mechanic who fixes BMWs and Minis he told me that i should put the removed front components back because the car cant handle all the power and torque to the rear wheels. He said that rear components are smaller on the xDrive models and bigger for the original rwd models. My question is, is this true? Is it possible if i leave it as this and just code the lights and in the future the car can tear something apart? I really don't want a awd bmw but i dont want the car to brake and the damage to be half of the car cost... If someone knows anything or did similar please share your opinion. (sorry is this doesn't make sense my english is kinda bad)
How did you go about programming it. I have a differencial problem and I want to do the same. But I don't know if using the program "X Delete" for the transfer case will work
As far as I know x delete programs the transmission to think it’s a rwd car and completely stops sending power to the front end but you could simply test the theory by installing x delete and putting the car on jack stands and seeing if the front drive shaft still gets power it shouldn’t 😂 so assuming you have a front differential issue then you should be okay but I would only bother removing front axles honestly
I have a single torn axle boot so I’m replacing the axle and downloading x delete but only reason I mnot removing things is because I live in place with snow might need it in winter
Hi, can anyone help me. I have a 2018 430i xdrive, it only had like 21,000 miles when I got it, but for some reason the transfer case went to shit, I don’t know how. But my mechanic completely removed it and so I’m running without one. The only problem is that I have the chassis stabilization code on and it won’t let me drive the car in any mode except for comfort mode. I’ve been contemplating on getting a new one so I can use sports mode and sports mode plus, but I kinda like keeping the car in rear wheel drive. Does anyone know how I can maybe permanently remove the codes that pop up.
Whatch my channel. I cleaned mine easy to remove lower two bolts on driver side then try to get other side put jack under engine so it dont move to much. Clean turn black piece so if it engages theres more teeth it can grab. Mine was bad on a lik piece but the rest good. Then if you got any break problems fix if not cut te break sensor and connect two wires if break yellow light is on.
😂 a shop should never do that to a customers car, AND charge them? You’re crazy, that ruins the cars future and you never did a proper diagnosis. If it were a personal car that’s a different story. I’d sue

You need to code out the transfer case and make the cars brain think and know that it has the RWD configuration as opposed to being AWD. Since I am having axle issues, I am contemplating to do just that - remove the whole thing up front, code out transfer case and figure out the removal of it alltogether.

Just pull fuse 46 way easier in e53
Been did this my e70 x5 has been great only rwd .. I can still tow my 6k and 8k pound trailers no problem.
I got a e46 330xd i want to make it rwd to make it more fuel efficient, please help.
So how does a awd turn into a rear wheel drive when u removes the rear wheel deive axel in the 1st place, wont that turn it into a fron wheel drive?
What happen if i just disconect it the transfer case
Hi ,,, where are you guy located at. ?
Where are u located & do you still do this for 1500 ??
can we do the same thing for f31 328xdrive?
Not sure. Everything is more complicated electronics
Can this be done to the x5 e53 2006
I don’t think it works on e53.

That's crap! I deleted those all the time. Your vehicle will definitely drive faster and used less gas.
Trying to rwd swap my 330xi 2001
bro me to😭
Me too
I’m about to try I think 😂

We left transfer case and actuator. Coding everything out was more complicated than we thought. May need to replace ABS module which is made for 4x4

Don’t take the bracers for the wheel bearings out like he said though

@@vacbmwdid you look into x delete?
Can you do that for my 328xi for $1500. 😅 Im in Pittsburgh
You could just pull the 4x4 and ABS fuse. Going to try it on f10 xdrive
Hey, did this work?
@@alexblake8927 no didn’t work. Goes into limp mode. I’m going to try front drive shaft next.

Can this be done on E60 2009 bmw 528i xdrive?
Did you do it ?
No I don’t know anyone that can do it in my area
I just removed my front propeller and it works just fine.
1500 damn
In Italy you get it done for less than 500
Xdelete gang
