43:58 When I played this game I eagerly checked back and forth on the map as it filled up. This moment, where the game revealed that "actually, while we have up until now portrayed it as one and the same castle, it is in fact two maps and you've travelled between them when using the teleportation portals." stands out to me as the most memorable moment in the entire game.
This game was so hard for me when I was 8yo. Since my native language is German and I've started learning English when I was 9. So trial and error until I was able to finish this game smh. Took around 1.5 years back then. 17 years have passed and I'm still in love with this art style.

a simple tip is that you could try to do is choose a side where u will only move to and and when done with all the sides u could move to the other side
Yep, this is what you get for giving your workers just one year to make a game, instead of the usual two. The bosses in this game are inexcusably easy. Even Dracula.
Hi there. Thanks for posting this. I'll be looking at the whole video soon. But I'd like to know where can I get whatever item it is that opens the blue flashing doors, not the ones to the bosses (of course), the other ones which show a message and say they're locked. Extra info: I'm at about 110% between both castles and don't posses the Griffin wing (to do the upward 'flying' jump). And the rainbow colored ones too, whichever ones come first. I know it's not a linear game, but some items require others that are acquired earlier. By the way, is this being recorded from the Wii U Virtual Console game? Because it looks a lot smoother than my game being played on the GBA. Thanks in advance!
As well as levelling up is important I played this game a while back and in my Emulator I completed in level 55 where the Harpy's and all others were one hit touch, it even took me years to do a 100%. Thank you for bringing me back so many memories
Proper enjoyed this game. Played it to full completion and often dip back in for the atmosphere. I'd rather a Castlevania game be a little easier than impossibly hard like some of them are.
Castle B is the easy castle, with all the easy enemies in it. Castle A is the castle with all the hard enemies in it. I was confused. Also, in Castle A that has the shop lady, you can buy stuff like High Potions. But in Castle B, in the same spot where you enter to where she was, will have a gremlin blocking the room. Is that room the Boss rush room?
I see your comment is from 2 years ago.... But I just saw this video and I think maybe that second shop requires you to be above level 50. It looks like there are some boots in there that allow you to jump endlessly. ua-cam.com/video/pwi_0X6U9GE/v-deo.html

Is this the Japanese version of the game you are playing? Cause you know that area where you race the ball as it tries to go all the way around and lock itself up, the areas are reversed in the US version.
Don't you think that if you had broke each and every brick of the castle with that crushing stone that would have been easier..? (That was a joke, don't mind). wonderful gameplay. You knew almost a lot of tricks that made the game a lot easier for you. A person who is playing it first time would take a lot more time..
I cut the part out of the video where I ran to the other castle. In one castle the room looks grey and in the other it's red. Had I made the video today, I would probably edit the video to have a letter in one of the corners at all times to show which castle i am in at every moment to avoid confusion
While in Castle B, there is a lot to this game that I did not understand. Like how do you get to open the orange flashing door in the Chapel Tower? The video shows you how - Use MK's Bracelet. Now I know.
Ive been playing this about 6-7 hours. i dont need a speed run , i like exploring, finding the unknown, taking my time. But holy shit -- Ive been running from one end of the castle to the other for like an hour at least; finding every possible locked door, thing I cant jump up, cement lookign wall I cant break. i have no options left, (hence looking at a guide). But you're telling me that I could have opened half these gosh darn doors with the damn bracelet I ALREADY HAVE!!!! I wish they could have maybe pointed that out a little bit clearer... What a waste of time. im almost at the point i dont want to go back :(
CotM was terrible to play on first GBA without backlight, but such a great game! I remember playing Harmony and they really improved visual experience to display brither graphics. Overall, HoD was a really fun game besides and I don't know why liked the songs hahaha
