    I made my first ever hat this evening following your tutorial. I'm super happy with it. I need to make a few more to practice and I'm going to make the width of the side a little shorter (just so it fits me better) (I'm also going to make future ones with interfacing as I didn't have any to use for this one) I'm a very new machine sewer and your tutorial was very easy to follow. Thank you from a very happy man in Cornwall, UK.

    Impeccable precision. I looked at soooooo many bucket hat patterns in the last few months. I’m going to follow yours on my next make. The first one I made it was entirely too small. I did not account for my poofy hair. Then I made one that I was happy with but it looked more like a floppy hat rather than a bucket hat. I started to more with the top and the side but I have been stalling on the brand because I don’t want it to look like a floppy hat. Sooooo we will see how my next one goes using your pattern and then maybe I will be confident to finish the two that are incomplete

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  3 роки тому

      Aaaa, it seems like the brim over there is a bit too wide if it gives you the floppy hat. Make this one from your scrap fabric so that way you know for sure! Yeah, my hair is actually very wavy but I straighten it for the videos because otherwise it is a frizzy mess, so when I go gardening in the morning and my hair is poofy that extra that I added for the hair - oh it helps :)

    I’m wondering, I think I’ll press it before putting the layers together, and press the interfaced seam up and the lining seam down, or however you like to get it to lie smoothest, and so the seams will nest together, to reduce bulk when assembled. And to settle those seam allowances inside before you get too close to the seam with the top stitching. ie get it all sorted and flat inside before the topstitching.
