Dear Sewing Friends, I can't wait to do the "classis " A-line skirt with you, although I have to say - I love elastic waistband! :) How about you - ZIPPER or ELASTIC? :)
TUTORIAL REQUEST: Please make a tutorial of several ways to create a belt or sash out of fabric (or other materials or kits) to make a “self-belt” to go with the new outfit you taught us to draft and sew. I really like the ample bow/sash you made for this adorable skirt❣️
Thank you for including pockets! We absolutely need more pockets!! I just found your channel today, I've always wanted to draft my own patterns but never knew where to start. A few of the easier ones from your channel look like a great start to get my feet wet. Thank you!
Love this! I am not a huge fan of pencil skirts or circle skirts, but A-line skirts are my jam, so thank you for this tutorial! Have a few fabric remnants that I'd like to use for this!
You are amazing! I love the way you explaining each n every tricks & tips! Your tutorials truly helps me! I'm done with A line skirt and easy Lenin top got so much appreciation from my family n friends! Credits to you!👏😊 hugs!
It's winter here, and I want an a-line skirt that'll keep me warm. I've got a tartan/plaid in red with a flannelette backing. I wonder if this pattern would work for this?
I don’t see why it wouldn’t. It’s a skirt and you have material. I always make it with whatever I have available. Do it try it then you’ll know. It won’t hurt will it? Then you will know for sure. BUT if you don’t want to waste this particular material Maybe buy a similar weight and do it on that? Turns out how you like it then tadaaa two new skirts lol good luck and have fun! I always make my own patterns and have fun with it sometimes I fail but are there truly any fails when having fun??

At 7:40 you cut notches into a serged seam. Won’t this unravel the stitch and therefore defeat the purpose of prevention of fraying? Wouldn’t it be better to sew it together with a straight stitch with a seam allowance of about 7 mm and put in a zigzag as a finish of the seam allowance, in which you can put notches without cutting into the stitches?
You can do either or leave it as is, but I invite you to pay attention to 2 facts. 1) this pockets conceals that seam INSIDE the pocket, as the pocket is double sided, AND I have 2 rows of parallel stitching on top of that seam that attaches the pocket to the actual skirt. The seam that I finished with a serger and and notched has no chances to fray as it is well secured on the inside and on top of the pocket 2) zig-zag will secure the edge of the fabric, but only if it is tightly spaced, if you do regular zig-zag the fabric will still fray.

I love your bold necklaces. Where?
I love this skirt. I thought that zig zag stitches would be used on the elastic waistband. Would the stitches pop with the straight stitch?
Yes
Have you noticed that I have stretched the waistband as sewing it? - so, no popped stitches.
@@ThoughtfulCreativity oh ok.... makes sense. Thanks. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy watching and learning sewing tips 😊
Absolutely :) I have made waistbands like that for 3 pairs of shorts 2 years ago and I love wearing those :)
