Some helpful tips when sewing the TOP to the BAND: 1. Cut notches all along the edge of the BAND (on the side that will connect to the TOP). This will give you more length when you pull at the fabric to properly align with the edge of the TOP panel (make sure you don't cut notches past the 3/8" seam allowance). 2. When sewing the BAND to the TOP, have the BAND piece on top. It is more likely to bunch up underneath your presser foot, so have that panel on top so that you can pull at it and ensure that it is lined up to the TOP panel. Apologies, I should've noted this in the video! Hope that helps
I'm a complete beginner so making a hat felt scary, but you made it so easy (and free!) so I was able to complete in one sitting, in 4 hours!! It feels so GOOD to sew something for my self. Now I feel like I can sew anything in the world. Thank you Allan!!!
Hands down the best sewing tutorial I’ve watched. I’ve been looking for someone who does sewing tutorials but also has good personality and a high quality camera/good editing skills and someone who fully explains every step!! I found ya :)
i know i watch a lot of tutorials making a bucket hat but nothing intererest me, except this one as soon i saw it boom! pizzaaa ;-) slices and its about the toppings toohahahaha joke only but his really god and very kind sharing his pattern for free, and i share also to others hus you tube mentioned his name so they can followed him and support for his you tube.

Wow, the quality of this video blew me away!! It such a great tutorial to, your description is so clear and detailed!! I definitely wanna try making this now.
I just did it today! My daughter wanted to buy her friend a Disney Ariel bucket hat for her birthday but we couldn't find one online that we liked. I have considered for a while trying to make one so this was the perfect opportunity. Thank you so much for the video and the pattern! It turned out awesome.
I really appreciate how even though this has more steps than a regular one sided bucket hat you kept the tutorial straightforward and also sprinkled in some humor. I can't wait to try this tutorial with the sewing machine I got for Christmas! Definitely going to subscribe I love your teaching style
Just made my own hat today as my first real project. Your pattern made it super easy along with the video. I had a hard time with a few spots but being able to keep going back over the video really helped. Can't wait to make sew up more of your projects. Ended up using black denim and cheetah print.
Thank you! I am making my first hat (not this one you made) but i had some questions! This was a very great tutorial! Straight to the point and easy to understand so thank you !
Best tutorial ever seen. No long intros, traight to the thing, and there were pizza slices 🍕 what made me even happier was the coolest free pdf pattern. Thanks a lot ❤️
Thanks ever so much for the great pattern and video. I made a bucket hat for my adult grandson's birthday and it went together without any trouble. I can just picture him wearing it in his Kayak. TA
brand new sew-er here ! Ive done a few linings for my crochet pieces but after watching this video to see kinda how you did it, i think im going to do this for my "first" project !! Super clean work & amazing tutorial, thanks !!!
hey man, just wanted to say you got me hooked on sewing with this one haha the hat came out dope and now I'm daydreaming about designing my own clothing line hopefully one day lol. you do some inspiring work, thanks again
Thanks so much for this super fun bucket hat pattern! Woke up yesterday to a rainy day and went down a UA-cam sewing rabbit hole and landed in your bucket hat tutorial. I grabbed some scrap pattern and whipped it up and it is super cute, I can imagine it in velvet, faux fur, terry cloth, sky is the limit. Makes a great gift and I am already thinking of a couple of friends with birthdays coming up! My only suggestion is to cut the hat top on the bias-it helps pinning all the fiddly edges without getting a pucker.
I found this video forever ago bc my bf wanted a bucket hat and I'm finally making it for him, just came here to appreciate not only the quality of the video but the little bucket hat cartoon on the patterns, I loved it 🥺
I’m actually trying to learn how to sew this Summer because I’ve always loved the fashion industry. This video was super helpful! Definitely subscribing.
Bro being a legend giving out his patterns for free. 😭 I'm trying to learn new skills, thanks for your videos I feel like I'll be able to learn how to sew.
I absolutely loved this tutorial! I’ve looked at a couple videos for bucket hats but this one was so easy to follow and I loved all of your tips. My hat looks so nice and professional. Thank you!!!
Tried the pattern on some fabric I had left, the result is great! Perfect size, nad perfect tutorial. You've put so much work into it, and it shows! Thanks so much for this great pattern and tutorial, please don't stop doing what you do!
I have literally barely used a sewing machine before and this was the first real thing I made....heehee even my husband was impressed. Thank you so much for this video and your fun and great instructions ❤️
Ok. Love from Tokyo again! just finished this hat, and omg I’m in love! I made some modifications, I did one solid color and I didn’t make it reversible, because I’m using denim and I wanted it to be light for summer: I only did two layers of the brim and one layer of the top and hat sides (?) I attached the brim to the inside hem of the hat sides.. it turned out great! Also, I figured out how to do the pizza notches, thanks for your comment reply! I will be making more. It looks verrrry good and well made. Thank you sensei!!
Thanks for the great how to and kindly offering the free patterns! I just did a closet purge and was thinking I couldn't let go of a couple shirts I love and maybe turning them into a hat would be a great way to let go and hold on at the same time. Ugh. anyway. I measured my head and cut the pattern on the right line, the fabric, followed your directions, and it turned out great!! Perfect even. I happen to have the same machine as you and I appreciated the tricks you pointed out with changing the needle position and foot changes. You're a born teacher Glory
What a great tutorial, Glory. You were to-the-point with each step and reinforced each again quickly. You are a great teacher and seamster!! Thank you for your time and for your info!
I just found this channel randomly and I have to say I’m so happy I did. I subscribed immediately so much good information even tho I don’t sow or anything but I can appreciate good work when I see some, keep it up man can’t wait to see what you show us next.!!!
I am very grateful to you for the free pattern! You are so talented and smart! like OMG I can't even describe it but yur channel is GOLD! haha I love you!
First tutorial I watched for beginners that made sense and was super easy to follow along. Is there an option for just a liner and not the reversible option
I made this today with the fabric you can get at Walmart. Although was challenging to say the least, it turned out amazing! This was my first thing ever sewing and you made it so easy. Next one will be with a more ridged fabric for sure. Thank you so much!
This is my favorite video, very easy to follow. And BTW l have the same sewing machine as yours haha.please would make a work apron it must look cool and useful, thanks.

How much fabric he needs for one hat ?
