That OoT clip you played was of a Great Fairy, not a sage. The sages in that game were each a different race, and none of them did that horrifying spin-laugh at you.
I had just been watching the Um Actually game show before this, so when I saw that part I said to myself "Um Actually, that is a Great Fairy not actually one of the sages, who we all know *gestures all around the room* were, say it with me: Princess Ruto, Saria, Nabooru, Darunia, Dagoth Ur, Impa, and lastly Princess Zelda herself."
I am sick as hell right now so I have no idea if any of this is even real or if I've simply over-medicated myself again. This was equally horrifying on the second watch as it was on the first.
Hylics is a masterpiece in its own world and it creates an experience you will never forget. Mason Lindroth is a mad genius when it came to the art direction and even blessed us with a second game that is somehow crazier than the first.
Mason Lindroth is an absolute wizard and the first 'Hylics' is my favorite work of his. His vision is so palpable and I love the handcrafted feel presented in the games use of modest tools like old action figures, 'Game Maker' and, of course, clay. It's such a refreshing world to be in.
What a trip! The animations and graphics are oddly.... satisfying. Also nice touch with that impromptu jam session you really captured the feeling of this game with that bit 😆🍻
Sequel is a big step up, first one is a small RPG maker game, 2nd one is very cool looking 3D game with akward isometric platforming, 1st person dungeon, even Hard difficulty making battles a bit more fun imo
Wow this is a game I thought you would never cover, or anyone for that matter. I bought this and its sequel on sale because it seemed so bizarre and trippy and I love that
this game is quite satisfying to play. another RPG game that has a surreal art-style but is very fun to play while also being very challenging is a game called "Brutal Orchestra". this game is so freaking good, yet very unknown with only aroung 800 reviews total on steam, a true hidden gem that I can't recommend enought.
This game dares to ask the question: "Whats the difference between a trip to a modern art museum and a drug-induced hallucination?" but without providing an answer. At least from the looks of it
this video is great and really well made, but just adding some extra context to clear some confusion; most of the dialogue in hylics 1 is completely randomized from a pooled set of words because of in-game reasons (except for a few words revolving around the characters important to plot, and some words such as “it”, “the”, and “a”). that’s why the dialogue is almost indecipherable yet still gives you a general idea of the story
the first time i played this game i was so confused yet i was glued to the screen the entire time, highly recommend, one of the best games i’ve ever played
.....that has to be the most trippy and insane game I've ever seen. Just wow. And it has a sequel? That is amazing. Not as amazing as the impromptu and awesome jam session. Nice. XD
Bro, you have got to do the Zeno Clash series, and all the other games by Ace Team. Their games are great and weird. Like, Rock of Ages is a series where Sysiphus uses his rock to fight historical figures after escaping Hades. You play as the rock and it’s a momentum based game where you have to reach max speed to slam through a door at the end of the level. Between your rock sessions the enemy has their own rocks, and in between and during each turn you and the enemy can set up defenses against the other teams rock to defend your gate.
Am I the only one who found this game extremely creepy and reminiscent of Monty Python? I don't' know why, but this type of animation makes me very uncomfortable. haha Great video Mitch :))))))
While this Yoko Ono art styled game is in a league all its own, if you haven't checked out West of Loathing I would highly recommend it. A favorite of mine, and it's nice to share. ;) Thanks for the content!
You think that "Great Sage" clip you played was terrifying? I've played Guild Wars 2's Living World Season 1! Getting stomped on by Scarlet Briar's giant metal puppet of herself while she taunts you was disturbing in a not all together unpleasant manner...
0:25 My eyes hurt. How did you play this? Did your eyeballs melt at some point and you got them replaced with cybernetics? Or did you just wear special sunglasses?
I almost want to recommend you play "YIIK: A Postmodern RPG" because it is very very weird, and features one of the most utterly unlikeable MCs in RPG history... but it's also a very bad game and borderline painful to play at times, which makes it tough to enjoy as kusoge. Still, it might should be on your radar if you're looking for more strange games to cover.
That OoT clip you played was of a Great Fairy, not a sage. The sages in that game were each a different race, and none of them did that horrifying spin-laugh at you.
Omg you are totally correct. I blame the laugher of death ringing in my ears!

its not real
get better, bro
same
What you've never seen Nintendogs before?
Wake up

Yeah this is defo the craziest game I've seen! Loved the guitar, bass and keyboard work you had going on there too 😂 you have so many talents!
What a trip! The animations and graphics are oddly.... satisfying.

Thats one trippy game, great video as always😂
Wow this is a game I thought you would never cover, or anyone for that matter. I bought this and its sequel on sale because it seemed so bizarre and trippy and I love that
...Man, you gotta see Hylics 2.
I will say nothing more, go play it, it's incredible.
this game is quite satisfying to play.

Yep, that game definitely looks like a trip xD
Great guitar riffing btw :D
I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this game.
Vegetable-farmer-turned-anarchist one day wakes up, watches some TV, and overthrows a totalitarian dictator
9:11 "Wayne's World" will never be the same for me again. Thanks, Mitch!
I had no idea this game existed. $3 on Steam. I can't wait to play this.
In the realm of weird RPGs there is OFF. Frankly it is a little terrifying. Plastic is the most important of the four elements.
OFF is fantastic. If you haven't tried it I also recommend Space Funeral, my favorite weird rpg (it's short but it's free)
Yes I would like to see a review on Hylics 2. (Electronic Boogaloo)
Yes absolutely do hylics 2
Review of hylics 2? Yessir, any hylics content is appreciated
Your videos are truly one of a kind. And so is this game, hot damn! :D
This game dares to ask the question: "Whats the difference between a trip to a modern art museum and a drug-induced hallucination?" but without providing an answer. At least from the looks of it
Loved the instrumental! Just finished Planescape: Torment, which is also a wild ride.

Imagine what this author could do with even a fraction of a triple A budget.
If you haven't already, check out the sequel. Absolutely beautiful. Not triple A, but very good.
Now that I know you can play guitar my degree in classical performance demands I subscribe to you
Wayne is the answer to the question no one ever thought to ask: What if Butthead and Mac Tonight had a kid?
Like The Neverhood meets Earthbound
You MUST explore the game's much bigger and better sequel, Hylics 2!
the first time i played this game i was so confused yet i was glued to the screen the entire time, highly recommend, one of the best games i’ve ever played

Not as amazing as the impromptu and awesome jam session. Nice. XD
Really cool vid, glad I came across you today!
Game so weird that basic overview and first impressions sounds like the most crazy thing...👾
How much LSD did you take!?
Game Dev: Yes.

Great video Mitch :))))))
Lots of the environments and characters in this game resemble organs, so I get it.
You should also play the sequal which is even crazier and the better game.
This is the most 90s game I've seen. For a game made in 2015
HYLICS! Lovely game, cant wait for the part 2 video
I love that he's a waning moon
I saw a lot of that game back in 2015 and have been trying to remember the name of it for forever to check it out
We need a part 2.
This is ToeJam & Earl if you took the mushrooms you found inside that old Craigslist couch.
This is a goddam fever dream if I’ve ever seen one
I'd love to see the Hylics 2 video!
For some reason this makes me think of what _Fantasic Planet_ would've been if René Laloux had been a schizophrenic LSD addict.
This game is...something else o_O Thanks for showing :)
King Crimson would be proud of this sound track.😮👍
Wow thats unexpected! Just when i 420'd😁 God bless ya there ❤️
When a fan of Salvador Dalí creates a RPG game.
I feel like A LOT of acid was consumed in the making of this game.
Another amazing video ❤
I’m trying to place the action figures used. They’re definitely O-ring style figures like GI Joe. I wonder if the creator ever shared.
So, who is hotter? Great Fairy lady from Ocarina of Time, or evil Scorpion woman from Dark Souls II?
Sure lets see the sequel!
While this Yoko Ono art styled game is in a league all its own, if you haven't checked out West of Loathing I would highly recommend it. A favorite of mine, and it's nice to share. ;) Thanks for the content!
Now play the sequel Hylics 2. And yes Mitch, there is a sequel.
It’s like the art deco version of Enas house party
Here before Chuck
Though that makes sense, he wasnt involved in the first game.
Absolutely check out the sequel!!
The lore dump must be randomly generated! The opening text was different for me.
You think that "Great Sage" clip you played was terrifying? I've played Guild Wars 2's Living World Season 1! Getting stomped on by Scarlet Briar's giant metal puppet of herself while she taunts you was disturbing in a not all together unpleasant manner...
Totally, streamed all the GW2 living world content last year and was sidelined by that for sure.
It would be amazing if you could play Divinity 2: the dragon knight saga, it is my favourite Larian game but no one seems to talk about it.
If you wan't a slightly crazy and very funny rpg, you should try Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes. That game is a gem.
If Philip K. Dick and Monty Python had a love child ...
Good lord, my brain hurts 😵💫
Xeno Arcadia is my jam
0:14
Wait, what?
🤣🤣🤣
Dude! No Stairway!
yes! sequel please!
Man, I'd love a hot dog or burrito right now...
Now I wanna see you try moon
0:25 My eyes hurt. How did you play this? Did your eyeballs melt at some point and you got them replaced with cybernetics? Or did you just wear special sunglasses?
9:00 Weezers has been REAL quiet since this drop
I need to play my copy
So the guy that made this game started taking drugs, and never stopped.
More, please!
"with the help of captain traffic lights"
Wow. The creator of this game MUST HAVE consumed some Epic level shrooms when he thought all this weird stuff up. Damn 😬😵💫🤯 !
Thank god, I was getting withdrawals dude 😂😂. And as jar jar binks once said...... 'this is nutsy' 😂😂😂
I love this game and it's sequel
Sad that Otherland is no longer around ^^
Love the Jimmy Page tongue wag you got goin on there
Love the video!
nice tune
There is one combination of letters that describes this game. And it is: WTF
This reads as Captain Beefheart the game
Hylics 1 is meant to be nonsense Dialogue, in 2 its actually helpful and worthwhile.
Earthbound's Magicant, but weirder: The Indie RPG.
Nice video
yellow submarine - the BAD trip
This looks like it was made to appeal to fans of Liquid Television, so I'm oddly intrigued.
Ah yeah, love this one! Played it not too long ago! It was a fun road trip to kill a tyrant!
Am I am drugs? Am I .
Super duper awesome.
Imagine being old and in a nursing home trying to explain this game 😂 they’d just write dementia on your papers
Damn. Please god I don't want the afterlife to be like that.
At least put the game name in description and probably a steam store page link too
I am way too high for this
Did they steal the Thanos snap from this game?

Deathbulge: Battle of the bands is such a character in the RPG world. Not as insane but amazingly designed! Def recommended to anyone
