This is an extremely common bug in any game with 3D movement and controlled with an analog stick. There's code in the game that normalizes it to full speed if you tilt at a non-90 degree angle despite not hitting the 'edge' of the square (which would be -1 or 1 on x or y), so that 100% speed follows a circle around 0,0 instead. The problem here is the game didn't account for the feature that lets parents or family 'help' their kids by using a second controller, and the game's code just combines the raw inputs of both together instead of calculating where it should be on the perimeter given the input angles. This game out of every Pokémon game really needed more time in the oven. It’s like a pretty great Chocolate Cake but it’s been in the oven for 7 minutes so you get sick when you eat it. Since gen 6 the games all felt rushed in some way. Even at the time the lack of areas and a post game in Kalos, the lack of the battle frontier in ORAS, Lack of post game and national dex in Sun/Moon, the relatively small amount of changes in USUM, SwSh being….SwSh, and BDSP being a joke. Scarlwt and Violet genuinely feel like they are addressing many of the problems with SwSh in terms of the story and the gameplay with more freedom, less cutscenes, and better character writing. I really hope TPC see the low scores as a sign they need to slow down in development for more quality control and not go back to SwSh levels of mediocre.
@@ImportedCheese everygame it feels like they randomly take away stuff like set or exp share toggle. It’s annoying when games do this like in Xenoblade 3. They took away leveling down your party for the main game from Xenoblade 1 DE which destroys the level curve for many players when a simple fix is in the game you just have to move it to the main game. It’s annoying when games do that.
It's funny, you went insane because of the Qwilfish town being posessed by puppets, meanwhile I went insane dealing with the marketplace having horrific 1% chance to spawn a Love Ball for sale that took 2.5 Days of resetting/changing the clock to get. I don't know why, but S/V has really horrible rates for its supposed QoL changes I see touted fixing competitive or other rare items. Like Ability Patches also being 1% drops from 6* raids...
Okay, not to defend Gamefreak, but Charizard having a fake out death in the Tera raid is actually intentional, it happens every time. There's just no dialogue or animation for it. What a great game.
The same reason it uses Overheat at the start of the raid and then immediately gets rid of its debuff. It's supposed to be a super hard 7-star raid. Intentional? Yes. Well implemented? Lmao no
The speed boost happens because diagonal movement is just the speed of vertical + horizontal, but the circle prevents you from fully hitting the square's corner, but 2 circles can.
I didn't know these games have a fucking memory leak! Speaking as a programmer, there is just no excuse for having a memory leak nowadays. Modern languages literally do that shit for you, with garbage collection. Now, to make a game run well, you'd need low-level code where you do need to mind your memory, but you're not convincing me a game that runs this poorly was made in a language without garbage collection.
I think what they could've done with aquatic Pokémon is to make them jump or flop while following you, similar to Sushi in Paper Mario or Kine in Kirby Dream Land 2 and 3.
I finally quit after easily the 60th raid I did in a row where not a single ability patch or herba mystica dropped, went up against a grass type, I think it was a Jumpluff, son't remember because I quit when it used sleep powder on my Gholdengo and put it to sleep... Gholdengo, with the ability to be immune to status move s got sleep locked on top of all the other bugs. I need to know who thought locking mandatory competitive items behind raids with a super low drop rate was smart. And I also want to know how everything in the raid can freeze constantly but the timer never even slows down.
I originally thought that the Pokeball in the caves of the Great Titan cutscenes were intentional and I tried going back into the caves to collect them.
@@ImportedCheese After the first attempt failed, I tried going back in after I completed all the related quests too... I was hoping that there would be at least 1 herba mystica to pick up after you beat all of them
love the intro. Kinda expected you to spin after that Pokeball throw but I think it would be too much anyways. It felt like a real Pokemon game. Can't wait for Gamefreak to release Pokemon Imported Cheese Edition.
I used the hookshot bug in my scarlet playthrough and skipped the school for a bit. I got a shiny Cyclizar as a reward and named her vanillabean. Honestly, the glitches made my second playthrough (which was scarlet, I had violet first.) Way more fun than it should've been.
I just assumed that the cliff trigger you mention bypassing in the Door Dash bug description was so you didn't accidentally walk off of cliffs. I frequently walked off cliffs without using it just by continuing to press in the direction of the cliff. After one or two stumbles aimed at the same point, your character will get through it and fall. The door dash maneuver definitely makes it faster to bypass though.
I discoved the Smolive Garden glitch the other day with my Slither Wing and it TANKED the framerate. I tried spinning while he was standing in the olive and the sound was higher pitched and way faster
@@ImportedCheese It works best for it when the ball it on the stand because it doesn’t stay in the ball for very long after you kick it, but you do have to hit the ball twice for it to go anywhere lol
... I actually have a genuinely serious question, something that just occurred to me. Of course, for _us_ it's really entertaining - you put a lot of effort into your videos, they are very fun, you have a great personality for this type of content, and all that. Buuut... yeah, serious question: Are _you_ happy focusing near entirely on videos about games you don't like? I know _I'd_ get really exhausted. Far as us viewers go, sure, keep them coming - am just kind of curious if you feel a sort of obligation to stick to the Pokémon content you're known for, or if these videos are just genuinely how you manage to get your personal fun out of the franchise. I've seen someone burn out due to a perceived obligation to stick to content about certain games before (rest in peace, BillehBawb's channel), and it'd suck if it happened to you. So - hey, if this channel just truly is how you make Pokémon fun for yourself, if that fun _isn't_ just that of us viewers, but also yours? Then that's great! But yeah, just kinda curious.
I really have to say, I was pretty disappointed after seing the inital reports about the state of the game. But watching all your hours of bug compilation with your commentary made this an incredible entertaining f2p experience and I felt being patt of something bigger, brought together by whatever Gamefreak did there, so thanks for that :> and in the end, isn't this what modern gaming is all about?
@@ImportedCheese also, 7 crashes in 40 hours? unreal, i have about 250 hours so far and had one crash in levincia city when i union circled with a friend.
I'd like a list of your grievances with the game aside from the bugs, probably in some kind of audiovisual format. I haven't got the game yet and I'm going back and forth on it.
If Pokémon that "can't" swim* use floats while in water, Pokémon that can't walk in land could be hanging from balloons or something, at least that would be consistent with the ones that "can't" swim *tho, they can really swim and the majority of the time they get the floats in places they can stand perfectly
I do want to add on with the ghimmighoul is you can minipulate the spawns of the roaming ones by using the fly ability to different fly spots, when you fly to one area then back to another that you know where the ghimmighoul spawn, they respawn and you could get all 999 coins through that way, also I was a victim of the elite 4 Music bug and I thought that the songs were garbage because I didn’t get to hear the full song
I do enjoy SV a lot (except for shiny hunting) but your vids on these games are so funny. Susana the office worker is a god being from the ancient times.
Honestly after playing this over time I realized the only reason I had fun because I was playing with my friends but overall it's a miserable experience like eating an undercooked cake. You can tell it was supposed to be a cake but you keep eating only getting unsatisfying mouthfuls of dough. And the tera raids were the absolute worst because even if the entire party is doing everything right the game can just lag where nobody can act and the timer just jumps down or you get stuck in excruciatingly slow animations in a game mode that has a freaking timer. At least with dyna raids the timer was the amount of turns the party collectively took which made sense. Honestly after experiencing this game I'm considering selling it just like when I sold brilliant diamond after being disappointed by that game too.
I will add I enjoy online battles but that's been a feature for generations and learning there was no version of the battle tower is a shame since I enjoy running it to test teams before going online. I have a sinking feeling they'll try to reintroduce it though dlc
I think the Tera icon lighting bug might be an intended special effect where the world would light up, maybe around the icon or something? It's probably unfinished and buggy (who would've guessed!) and looks like a glitch as a result. That's my best guess because I can't imagine how that'd happen otherwise since the programming for the menu rendering and 3D rendering would realistically be completely separate. Even a beginner programmer would get that right.
My guess is that the menu is actually a 3D object and the glow effect is caused by making the icon a light source... and a bug makes it so that effect doesn't ignore the terrain like it's supposed to?
@@yoso378 Yes, this is also a likely possibility. The menu buttons might be in-engine objects set to always face the camera, and the Tera icon could've been (accidentally?) made a light source or a reflective surface.
I get why you said it, because of how defenders of these games are but... The funny thing is that it runs much better emulated. Like don't get me wrong, that's no excuse and the game should not have come out in this state. But emulating on my mid tier gaming PC I get no crashes, a much more consistent framerate (still drops a lot tho), and I can up the resolution and turn on antialiasing (the visuals are helped so much by antialiasing). Anyway, just thought it was funny how people would accuse emulators of being the issue when people are responding to how the game runs on its native hardware lol
The one crash I encountered while playing Violet was when I was making a sandwich with 3 other people. We all used the maximum amount of condiments and fillings. At some point the ingredients started having a Gmod moment and were freaking out. Slices of egg, strawberries, potato tortillas, and many other ingredients were being flung about and clipping into each other. We tried and failed miserably to contain it all with the top bun. My game simply could not handle the power of the monstrosity of a sandwich we created and proceeded to crash. We were all crying from laughing so hard.
... I'm gonna say it: People who say they "encountered no issues" and "had no problems" are at least bending the truth, if not lying, and high on copium in either case. Like - sorry. But at some point we actually, _actually_ hit the realm of that claim being legitimately unrealistic from a neutral, logical point of view.
I almost wonder if the auto save function has something to do with the crashes as well, I turned auto saves off right away (as I do with all games where that's an option), and I've experienced 1 (maybe 2?) crashes total in 107 hours playing scarlet (and 0 in 12 hours of violet so far)
@@ImportedCheese yeah, its a button combination, though I havn't needed it, auto save is off but I manually save almost non stop anyways (something that never went away from playing red on a gameboy without batteries with a charger cable that would disconnect with the slightest movement lmao)
That could mean that the data created for autosave is causing a major memory leak. That would make sense because the game needs to save a lot of things (party, boxes, bag, location, outfits). Memory leaks are very common in huge programs like operating systems and video games, especially when the developers keep the code a secret so nobody can look over it and alert them to problems.
There is a horrendous bug in the first cutscene of the academy, when the academy staff greets you outside the main building, when the animation is ending and the cutscene is fading black, al the charaters stays in like a crucified position, is the closest to a jumpscare in pokemon series, and is the FIRST cutscene, what a shitty game ._.
I'll probably buy this game soon (used of course), and now I've got a dilemma. Should I update the game for improved performance? Or play on 1.0 so I can use the clone Koraidon glitch?

Always willing to glitch out a game with my favorite poketuber. o7
Great coop!!
What a joke
I dunno, aside from the rush job, there's also just...malicious decisions.
.........why did they remove set lol
@@ImportedCheese everygame it feels like they randomly take away stuff like set or exp share toggle.
It’s annoying when games do this like in Xenoblade 3. They took away leveling down your party for the main game from Xenoblade 1 DE which destroys the level curve for many players when a simple fix is in the game you just have to move it to the main game.
It’s annoying when games do that.
At least gen 6-8 (except bdsp) have less or zero bugs than scarlet.
@@johanninong naw all of them have bugs, they are just harder to find because SV has um…problems
With all that jank, it's more like been in the oven for 30 seconds before getting served.
Like Ability Patches also being 1% drops from 6* raids...
sounds...inconvenient
Okay, not to defend Gamefreak, but Charizard having a fake out death in the Tera raid is actually intentional, it happens every time. There's just no dialogue or animation for it. What a great game.
wuh.....why? lol
The same reason it uses Overheat at the start of the raid and then immediately gets rid of its debuff. It's supposed to be a super hard 7-star raid.
Intentional? Yes. Well implemented? Lmao no
I love how they make you see EVERY SINGLE STATUS MESSAGE, yet they don't bother to tell you when an actual "boss mechanic" happens.
@@yoso378 It's only a small indie company, please understand
The speed boost happens because diagonal movement is just the speed of vertical + horizontal, but the circle prevents you from fully hitting the square's corner, but 2 circles can.
Let's! Geometry!
Thanks for taking the time to put this together! I know others have already said it, but the intro was fantastic too. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for watching! FUN FACT that intro was filmed before we even did THE LIVE, I already knew what I wanted out of this Great Game lol
Regarding raids, at the very least in dynamax raids you could understand what the actual fuck was going on unlike Tera raids.
It's a timer....but it's also turn based...? And it's bugged
It just (doesn't) work
The aggressive T-posing at 0:44 was a top-tier edit!
Time to inhale the rest of the 90 minutes PREMIUM cheese :D
I made sure to get a still I could use
I think what they could've done with aquatic Pokémon is to make them jump or flop while following you, similar to Sushi in Paper Mario or Kine in Kirby Dream Land 2 and 3.
Sounds like a lot of work when walking doesn't even work
@@ImportedCheese Yeah, imagine making a good game for the most profitable franchise ever.
sounds like too much work for a small indie company
HELP!!! THE INTRO SHOT AND KILLED ME RIP
No animations for shooting and killing, sorry
@@ImportedCheese no worries, a fade to black with a written sound effect is basically the same thing!
Great gameplay
I originally thought that the Pokeball in the caves of the Great Titan cutscenes were intentional and I tried going back into the caves to collect them.
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT THE FIRST TIME!!
...........the first time
@@ImportedCheese After the first attempt failed, I tried going back in after I completed all the related quests too...

Subscribed just because of that beautiful T pose in the intro. Good shit lmao
I'm sure it'll be useful in a few more SV videos
I used the hookshot bug in my scarlet playthrough and skipped the school for a bit. I got a shiny Cyclizar as a reward and named her vanillabean. Honestly, the glitches made my second playthrough (which was scarlet, I had violet first.) Way more fun than it should've been.
Sorry to hear you bought both
I just assumed that the cliff trigger you mention bypassing in the Door Dash bug description was so you didn't accidentally walk off of cliffs. I frequently walked off cliffs without using it just by continuing to press in the direction of the cliff. After one or two stumbles aimed at the same point, your character will get through it and fall. The door dash maneuver definitely makes it faster to bypass though.

We haven't surpassed Clownwall.
Unovan blocks are built differently
I discoved the Smolive Garden glitch the other day with my Slither Wing and it TANKED the framerate. I tried spinning while he was standing in the olive and the sound was higher pitched and way faster
Does it work with slither wing? Slither wing is HUGE
We'll escape pokemon someday...
Stadium 2 was fun!

I'd like a list of your grievances with the game aside from the bugs, probably in some kind of audiovisual format. I haven't got the game yet and I'm going back and forth on it.
Don't get this game, it's attrocious
If Pokémon that "can't" swim* use floats while in water, Pokémon that can't walk in land could be hanging from balloons or something, at least that would be consistent with the ones that "can't" swim
*tho, they can really swim and the majority of the time they get the floats in places they can stand perfectly
Sounds like a lot of work
@@ImportedCheese true, too much work for an indie company
That float-pokemon system looks rather unstable; it would be a miracle that the critter stays upright on the float for long periods of time.
1:15:55 When your game is so broken that it has Bethesda physics. I love it.
Bethesda physics are more fun at least
I do want to add on with the ghimmighoul is you can minipulate the spawns of the roaming ones by using the fly ability to different fly spots, when you fly to one area then back to another that you know where the ghimmighoul spawn, they respawn and you could get all 999 coins through that way, also I was a victim of the elite 4 Music bug and I thought that the songs were garbage because I didn’t get to hear the full song
I think the respawn is a small chance per day...?
I do enjoy SV a lot (except for shiny hunting) but your vids on these games are so funny.
Susana the office worker is a god being from the ancient times.
WELL I DON'T LIKE SV
I got sick today with the flu, and thanks to your long and funny video, I feel better. The Intro was superb!
Let's! Convalescing!
I only had fun because of the stream chat
Literally while I was watching the crash compilation, I was playing the game and the game crashed after I hatched an egg. What a great game.
Was it a dunsparce?
@@ImportedCheese Unfortunately, no, it was a Sprigatito.
That Intro was extremely impressive. Amazing video!
Let's! Dialogue!
The lighting engine was done by a single person, according to the credits. Poor guy needed a team and instead he got a time crunch.
Well...for one person they did a great job lol
Switch underpowered?!?! More at 11!!
Ok but it really does look uncanny without your voice
I want you to have the freedom to imagine how my voice sounds
21:58
Why the flashing image there for a sec?
T O P S Y T U R V Y
I almost wonder if the auto save function has something to do with the crashes as well, I turned auto saves off right away (as I do with all games where that's an option), and I've experienced 1 (maybe 2?) crashes total in 107 hours playing scarlet (and 0 in 12 hours of violet so far)
There's also a way to recover your save file from the main menu, I think
@@ImportedCheese yeah, its a button combination, though I havn't needed it, auto save is off but I manually save almost non stop anyways (something that never went away from playing red on a gameboy without batteries with a charger cable that would disconnect with the slightest movement lmao)
That could mean that the data created for autosave is causing a major memory leak. That would make sense because the game needs to save a lot of things (party, boxes, bag, location, outfits). Memory leaks are very common in huge programs like operating systems and video games, especially when the developers keep the code a secret so nobody can look over it and alert them to problems.
