Great Video! I was in Varna last Monday and had breakfast on the left next to the Theater, then coffee in the sea garden next to the beach. Wow i could have been in the video! I only found Alina on her sofia video this morning then kept watching for Varna. I moved to Bulgaria from UK 10 Years ago. I fell in love with the place when i first visited varna back in 2004 (Fun fact Varna is mentioned in Bram stokers Dracula Novel!) . Now I live about 40 KM north of Varna in a village near the coastal town of Balchik. You should visit Alina it's beautiful too! And we have the Romanian Queens winter palace here Regina Maria. The whole coast is beautiful, Kaliakra, Shabla right up to the Romanian Border. You should check it out!
Yeah, I remember clearly that in Francis Ford Coppola's movie it's pointed on the map when Dracula manages to fool his persecutors in order to reach his castle towards the end of the film.
Honestly had never heard of Varna before watching this video. It would be nice if you could play Bulgarian music in your next video to add to the atmosphere.

I don't know if you are still in Bulgaria or Europe. If you are : have a good journy !
I do remember growing up the old Valve Tube Radios that were as big as a Microwave oven under the hood. Also I still have an Old Gramaphone player with a hand crank my grandpa got from a trip to England in the 40s. It is a HMV (His Master's Voice) and a ton of FOX TROT records.
Thank you for this video! I am from Varna , and I am one of the 2 million Bulgarians who have emigrated our country in the past 10 years. I haven’t been to Varna since 2018 and thanks to you I saw some new things in my city , some places which brought a lot of memories to me , I even saw my high school though. Twenty years ago these streets and especially the part next to the Sea Garden were packed of people ! Unfortunately now it all looks deserted to me. It was a really lively city.Thank you so much for the video!
What’s more beautiful the beach, or the Slavic beauty, sunning herself on the beautiful beach. Awesome vid, oh Alina, the sitcom Alina in Sofia have been green light for a 21 episode 1sr season.

I’m walking past this place everyday and since corona it got bigger and bigger everyday. But it is been there since 3 years now.
Hi Alina, another great video. I visited Varna in 1980 and have returned today and using your info as tour guide. I really don’t recognise anything (other than the bus station I arrived at) from the communist era. Appreciate your work, thank you.

But you should visit the side hoods tho, i am from Vladislavovo , absolutely nice place to live without any crime (i am hyper ironic here)
The beaches, the vegetation and the ancient Greek revival elements in the architecture in central Varna remind me quite a bit of my ex hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. This place is now on my bucket list!
Here I am. Old enough to have experienced them all: big radios in the sixties (which needed warm-up time!), record players, tape players, cassette recorders. That old stuff was not nearly as good as the consumer electronics nowadays. "Good old times"? Believe me: you didn't miss anything.
Great video Alina. Now living in Plovdiv which is great . This summer I shall enjoy traveling the country. Varna has been on my list as a place to move to. Perhaps I shall make the move. Love being close to the sea . Look forward to viewing many more great videos on Bulgaria. It’s an up and coming country so much to offer . Let’s keep pushing the country forward . Wonderful people great food and amazing scenery. All within easy reach of all major cities in Europe . International travellers should include Bulgaria on their travel list. Take care stay safe. Hope to meet one day.
Thank you for this documentary Alina! I like it very much that you visit also museums and churches. The retro museum was very interesting for me, I’m old enough to have used record players and cassette tape recorders. The cathedral was also very interesting. P.S. thank you for answering my question about your face mask at your video from last week. I’ve now also purchased a few of those pseudo N95 masks and they are indeed very comfortable.
Thank you for showing many of the beautiful buildings and museums. That’s my home city and I’am really thankful that people can see the best code of it! Thank you!❤️
I am glad that you enjoyed Golden Sands I stayed in Hotel Shipka both times I visited. My favorite taxi took me around both times. The city really looks a lot nicer. Like you said most people have never heard of Varna. The country side is really nice and most people never go out into the country side. Have a great trip. Larry
Re: Assumption vs. Dormition, several Western churches (such as Catholics) teach that the Virgin Mary was "assumed" (taken up) bodily into heaven at the end of her earthly life. Eastern churches (such as Bulgarian Orthodox) teach that she "fell asleep," or died without suffering (not unlike the Buddha). When translated into English, often the names of Eastern churches referring to this event are translated in a way that makes sense to Western Christians, as "Assumption" and "Dormition" refer fundamentally to the same event, the death of the Virgin Mary.
You are almost right my friend. But the Orthodox Church also believes that she died, got resurrected after three days and than taken up physically into heaven. The Dormition and the Assumption are the different names respectively in use by the Eastern and Catholic traditions for the end of Mary's life and departure from the earth, although the beliefs are not necessarily identical. Both views agree that she was taken up into heaven bodily. Orthodox view: The Orthodox Church specifically holds one of the two Roman Catholic alternative beliefs, teaching that Mary died a natural death, like any human being; that her soul was received by Christ upon death; and that her body was resurrected on the third day after her repose, at which time she was taken up, bodily only, into heaven when the apostles, miraculously transported from the ends of the earth, found her tomb to be empty. The specific belief of the Orthodox is expressed in their liturgical texts used at the feast of the Dormition. Roman Catholic view: The Catholic doctrine of the Assumption covers Mary's bodily movement to heaven, but the dogmatic definition avoids saying whether she was dead or alive at that point. The question had been in dispute in Catholic theology, and although she is normally shown in Catholic art as alive at the point of assumption, many Catholics believe she had died in the normal way. Source: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dormition_of_the_Mother_of_God
@@nikolaj4925 Indeed, especially among Eastern Catholics -- who follow Eastern theological traditions but are in full communion with Rome -- it makes sense that these traditional scenarios re: the Virgin Mary's death would not be seen as incompatible. Thank you for showing us that in both Eastern and Western Churches, her bodily assumption is believed. Where the Western Church differs is that it doesn't commit to the tradition of the Dormition per se. In other words, these are still slightly different traditions (not found in Scripture) meant to describe her earthly death.
Zachary Fletcher that’s also part of the beauty of these two churches, regarding their apostolic succession, a lot of their knowledge comes from oral tradition.
If you ever visit Bulgaria again, next time you could visit to the west of Varna sunny beach (party time ;)) and (old)nessebar... to the east of Varna Golden Sands (allround resort), Albena (sports resort), Balchick (small city, great food), and surely Cape Kaliakra (Roman archeological dig and the most chance to see dolphins) Nice promotional video's btw. Anyway, great job!... and if you catch me on grammar or writing.. srry i'm native dutch (flemisch) speaking
In Varna under the sea there are ruins of submerged settlements from the stone age. It is called the varna culture and was the oldest european civilization and possibly the oldest human civilization. They had the oldest gold treasure there 8000 years old. It is not just the oldest but also the largest for the period. It is in fact larger than the sum of all other human crafted gold objects in the entire world at that time.

Но успех на ентусиастите, ще стискам палци, дано всичко е наред :)

Hello pretty and cute Alina! Thanks again for your nice tour! Hi all! I tried to go back my previous comment to add something I missed out to ask you guys, but I could not find it 🥲 I have written a long comment because I want to know more about Varna and Bulgaria from you guys who ever lived there or retirees who are living there now. Because me and my hubby are going to move to Varna in future. But am sad why the comment was not here. Any one can tell me why? I said hi to Alina and everyone here at the beginning of my comment. Please reply me if you read my this 2nd comment so that I can continue asking questions about Varna. Thanks in advance
I have been to Varna several times, beautiful summers and icy winters. Great value.
Wow! Just loved everything in this video... the beautiful beaches, relaxed atmosphere, your energy, the music... I was here just dreaming of being there. I absolutely love the Balkans... the people, the culture... Great editing and you seem to be a very nice person. Thank you! 🙏 😊
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Born and raised in Varna. Now freezing my everything off up in Scotland. My upstairs neighbours are currently playing All I want for Christmas is you. Im watching you on the beach... not sure if ive made the right decision lol :D Thank you for the video! If you have time go to the Wake Park- great spot :)
ahh same story here freezing my zadnik in London
Desperate to resign from Scotland, and chose a Bulgarian winter any-day for the guarantee of a warm summer.
Ha ha. I am just heading to Edinburgh from Varna. I get to spend 6 months of the year in the sun and 6 months of the year in the dark :-)
@@cheddarfish225 haha how do you do this? Had to wear my winter jacket yesterday in Edinburgh 🤷🏼♀️ at least it is very very pretty
@@cheddarfish225 😃 I’m over on the West Coast of Scotland, right now, and yes, it’s dark. Bulgarian winter is brighter than most summer days here. lol. Return Bg soon.
I'll NEVER leave Kentucky, but, if I did I'd go there, very nice!!!
8:53 The Varna Cathedral is currently undergoing renovation works until August 2021 and it should look like the golden domes of Alexander Nevsky in Sofia. Hopefully, this is a good reason for you to return and explore more places.
You are a person full of charisma and thanks for the vídeo
Honestly had never heard of Varna before watching this video. It would be nice if you could play Bulgarian music in your next video to add to the atmosphere.
I am from Bulgaria and live in Varna. And i am so happy that you present my home city!
7:46 actually this is a monument where 1 guy got himself on fire and died in this spot so people build this stone pile for him.
I have to say she is very well prepared for the video. I'm impressed. You are welcome to come again.
prepared or not - beautiful women are always welcome :D
Well done for the videos, let more and more people learn about Bulgaria. An exceptional place to visit

Thank you for your video. I have wanted to go to Varna for many years and summer 2021 I will go. Your video sealed the deal! A good addition would be a quick review of inside tourist hotels and cafes. I liked your Sofia video too!
Thanks and hope you have a great time!
I'm getting ready to move back to Varna this year, been living in Toronto for 27 years since I was 10. So excited!
Thank you Alina. I haven't been in Varna for such a long time. Lol, the city has really changed. Thank you for the great video (Greetings to Misha - nice editing man, really nice) !!!
I moved here from the UK 3 years ago and couldnt be happier xD
COOL, Alina i'm from Varna, great city. Nice to see you in our town :)
Alina, I am from the Netherlands and I have been in Bulgaria and Varna two times . The last time was in octubre 2019. So a year ago. I liked the country very much, also Varna ! Youre next visit will be Plovdiv. I have been there too. So I will looke to that video too. I have discovered your channel today and the Varna video is the third video I have looked to, so far.
Beautiful Bulgaria full of lovely people. 😘 from Greece💖
Very nice video you made here to share with us. Thank you for the effort, very much appreciate it. :) With beret regards from Flensburg/ Germany
What’s more beautiful the beach, or the Slavic beauty, sunning herself on the beautiful beach. Awesome vid, oh Alina, the sitcom Alina in Sofia have been green light for a 21 episode 1sr season.
I was born in Varna. Love this town! Nice, Warm, Relaxing! Love your channel too :) Good luck!
Amazing video Alina!Thank you soo much to remind me how beautifull is Varna!

Thank you so much!
Fantastic video! The drone shots in particular were a treat to watch. I'll say in general that your drone footage looks more and more epic with every video and definitely the best I've seen on UA-cam so far. Keep it up!
PS: Did Misha edit this one? I could tell from the graphics. If so, kudos to him for a great job👏
Thank you! Yes, he did! He's very good :)
Lovely Effort, Highly Appreciating it makes me bump for exploring Bulgaria
The rocks outside the city hall is a memorial for a guy that set himself on fire in protest.....
dk RaWk what does that have to do with anything ? I’m just explaining what the rocks are there for. I’m from Varna
Actually I’m also from varna and these rocks are a kind of a symbol for a protest. You can lie another stone on top if you are unhappy with the current political situation. I’m walking past this place everyday and since corona it got bigger and bigger everyday. But it is been there since 3 years now.
@@letspetpuppies .. That may be one of the aspects or part of what the man may have been protesting about ..
Hi Alina, another great video. I visited Varna in 1980 and have returned today and using your info as tour guide. I really don’t recognise anything (other than the bus station I arrived at) from the communist era. Appreciate your work, thank you.
In tears. I was born in Varna. , many moons ago.
and you will never go back there.
Amazing vlog video. Your drone footage looks great.
Alina + Bulgaria =sucess 🤩
Hello dear
I am 53 so I am old enough to remember Cassette tapes! Greetings from Radcliff, Kentucky, next to Ft. Knox.
Greetings from Lexington:)
i am from varna...honestly one of the better places to live in bulgaria...in fact, if you check the highway ,there have sign that say varna is the best place to live in bulgaria (officially ). But you should visit the side hoods tho, i am from Vladislavovo , absolutely nice place to live without any crime (i am hyper ironic here)
Thank you for the positive video I was born and raised in Varna (currently live in the States) and I really miss my town ❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful video I haven’t visited Varna, number of years.
Amazing city .I spent three days in Varna in 2013.Greeting from Canada.
A find Bulgaria endlessly fascinating. Looks a great country.
Thanks you show to the world how beautiful is my native country Bulgaria!
You showed also to to me Retro museum in Varna I have never seen!
My pleasure 😊
VARNA BULGARIA BEAUTIFUL IM GONNA VISIT THIS CITY HIGHLY RECOMMEND
You should also visit the Historical park, which is very close to Varna and is the biggest in the world :)) ipark.bg/en-US
That was a real eye-opener, thanks! Not what I expected of Bulgaria at all :-)
The beaches, the vegetation and the ancient Greek revival elements in the architecture in central Varna remind me quite a bit of my ex hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.
I am from varna and I think u show my city in good way !
That Retro Museum must be an amazing experience and Varna looks a really beautiful place to visit. I would visit both if had the chance.
you should also visit the biggest Historical park in the world, which is very close to Varna :)) ipark.bg/en-US
Great video Alina.
Burgas is another great Black Sea town. I last visited there back in October though; too late for beach weather.
Здравей Алина! Много хубаво видео!
I love Varna, i was for 6 Month in Varna last Year, because of Covid i decided to stay better in Germany till next March.
Thank you for showing many of the beautiful buildings and museums. That’s my home city and I’am really thankful that people can see the best code of it! Thank you!❤️
He was from Israel! The guy that got in your video! And King Boris (BDE) did a good thing.
Larry
I'm from Bulgaria and I live Varna💜❤️🇧🇬
Re: Assumption vs. Dormition, several Western churches (such as Catholics) teach that the Virgin Mary was "assumed" (taken up) bodily into heaven at the end of her earthly life. Eastern churches (such as Bulgarian Orthodox) teach that she "fell asleep," or died without suffering (not unlike the Buddha). When translated into English, often the names of Eastern churches referring to this event are translated in a way that makes sense to Western Christians, as "Assumption" and "Dormition" refer fundamentally to the same event, the death of the Virgin Mary.
Thanks for the history lesson.
Orthodox view:
The Orthodox Church specifically holds one of the two Roman Catholic alternative beliefs, teaching that Mary died a natural death, like any human being; that her soul was received by Christ upon death; and that her body was resurrected on the third day after her repose, at which time she was taken up, bodily only, into heaven when the apostles, miraculously transported from the ends of the earth, found her tomb to be empty. The specific belief of the Orthodox is expressed in their liturgical texts used at the feast of the Dormition.
Roman Catholic view:
The Catholic doctrine of the Assumption covers Mary's bodily movement to heaven, but the dogmatic definition avoids saying whether she was dead or alive at that point. The question had been in dispute in Catholic theology, and although she is normally shown in Catholic art as alive at the point of assumption, many Catholics believe she had died in the normal way.

@@nikolaj4925 Very true :)
Varna is my home city and I am missing it so much cause I am living in UK
Happy to hear that other people like and enjoy been there ;) ♡ 🇧🇬
If you ever visit Bulgaria again, next time you could visit to the west of Varna sunny beach (party time ;)) and (old)nessebar... to the east of Varna Golden Sands (allround resort), Albena (sports resort), Balchick (small city, great food), and surely Cape Kaliakra (Roman archeological dig and the most chance to see dolphins) Nice promotional video's btw. Even here in europe most people (except GB) don't really know Bulgaria as a tourist destination. Anyway, great job!... and if you catch me on grammar or writing.. srry i'm native dutch (flemisch) speaking
Varna is really great. This is a must visit
Actually grand mall is the second largest mall in Varna. Delta planet is the largest mall and also it is the largest mall in Bulgaria so... yeah. ❤🇧🇬❤
Hi Alina ........If you have the opportunity ,visit the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast ,there are beaches and places from which you will be enchanted.......And the city of Burgas , the Bulgarian San Francisco....!!!!!
