No doubt about it, there are many bands that I truly regret not having seen live and Coal Chamber is one of them. Thank you so much for posting this video.
They were part of my 1st concert experience in 1997. Coal Chamber & Machine Head opened for Pantera. I was just totally in awe of how much fun they seemed to be having. And I absolutely fell in love with Rayna!
They were a killer live band. Nu metal doesn't get enough credit in that sense. There were alot of nu metal bands with absolutely stellar and energetic live performances. Coal chamber, limp bizkit, Korn, hell even fucking methods of mayhem lol artists don't go wild on stage as much anymore
Energy can often cover up poorly written songs. They are entertaining but you can’t really argue that they were good songwriters. “Big Truck?” Lol. They just took the Korn sound and watered it down a little.
I saw them in January of 1998 at St. Andrew's Hall, in Detroit. I turned around and Dez was sitting on the steps after the show. In a knit-cap. I got my ticket stub autographed, which I hold near and dear... I don't care what people say about Coal Chamber, they were and ARE a great band, even with that 10 year gap. Dez was really cool, he signed everything people wanted him to sign... Really cool guy.
I regret not seeing Coal Chamber live during this time period really bad. Seeing them AND Pantera together like they were talking about in the video would have better than heaven.
I vividly remember me and about 10 friends that grew up in a small farming town went down to Seattle to see Pantera & Coal Chamber. We tailgated pounding beers then entered the arena right when the lights out for Coal Chamber after 3 songs we were the only ones standing still in that mosh pit. Complete Domination, Coal Chamber was the shit!
The date is actually wrong : they played on May 31st 1998 at this festival. Main stage with Pantera, Death, Life of Agony, Kreator, Incubus and Hed PE, among others.
Saw them tour with Type o Negative and they blasted the place apart! Awesome! Met them by surprise on St. Pauli/Hamburg. Nice people! At that time very on the ground people
@@NECROKAZII Hahaha I can imagine! The fact is that they were crazy and probably not very sociable either and they probably didn't like Coal Chamber either.

When MTV was at Sea Side Heights, New Jersey around this time, me and a few buddies drove down from Rhode Island and slept out of my car getting trashed there for a week. My car stereo wouldn't work so we picked up their first album on a tape and played it on a loop on a boom box the entire time... I think I spent $50 on batteries LMAO! Big Truck kicks ass!

Bug on drums was like 18-19
Bassist was like 27
@@TheUndertoe Yes, the bass girl, Rayna, was 28 in 1998 and the vocalist, Dez, was 32. The drummer, Mikey, was 21 and the guitarist, Meegs, was 26.
