Im a white boy from Ireland and Ive been listening to this for 30 years
Im a nonbinary transluscent goo and I listen to six fået under too
Yes lad
I'm a Brazilian black man. And we are brothers in that shit man. Against all racists.
United by Body mutherfucker Count.
my bus driver let us put tapes in her tape deck on friday to be "cool", she regretted it the week this came out. aah memories
:) Fock yeah!! "Memories from the Mind Vault"
Dang
Hell yeah, that's awesome
Heh, reminds me. My colleague is one of these soccer dad types, he told me he was taking his kid and all his friends to practice, all six year olds. He gave all the kids permission to pick one song each on Spotify to play on the way there, it was your expected music for kids that age, One Direction that sort of thing and when it got to this one kid he was saying was one of the very polite and quiet types, went straight for Soulfly.
🎸 💀 LETS GO
I'm 47 years old and I still listen to Body Count 🤘🤘
59
Me too, I’m 42.
51
Just turned 43 ❤️🤘
59 ! 😀
Releasing this in early 90s was balls to the wall...Grunge was peaking, metal was killing and hear comes Body County. Great time for music
Yes
Fuckin A Right!
Truth. I'll never forget my friend playing this for me for the first time when it came out... I'm like what is this?... He says... It's Ice T's hard core band.... So cash.
Good damn right!!!
I'm 54, and this album still makes me headbang with its driving beats and lyrics! This album wasn't just songs, it was an anthem to a generation!
Amen, brother! 57 now and still partying on this masterpiece 😅
58 n still there my friends 👍👍🎸🎸🎸
This year ist my 50 Birthday and this Album makes me Fell Like i am still 18. Fucking shit
Im 52 and this album will hold it's own against any punk group's album. Music is not supposed to see color. Great job Body Count. I hear some Black Sabbath influence, maybe some Metallica, and a little Suicidal Tendencies. Great song. Great Album. Great lyrics, keepin it real. Thank you for the great music.
It's an homage to Suicidal Tendencies.... join the Army, yo!
The Song "necessary evil" on the Born dead Album sounded a bit like the beginning of a couple Anthrax songs
..and that other song "the winners lose", Ernie starts off with an acoustic Intro similar to led zeppelins stairway to heaven, course these guys are close to the same age as my parents whose generation was led zeppelin, black Sabbath, and of course Jimi Hendrix (the bridge for the bodycount song sounded like a Jimi Hendrix influence there)
@Vlad now I feel real old :)
@Joe , I'm 42 and you couldnt have said it better.
I was 13? when this album got published? And still know the lyrics to every goddamn song;) and then and now a real alternative Indie to Postpunk music lover 🙏❣️
@@liannestevens342 I stream their first 3 albums on Amazon Alexa via phone, the first album has more essential songs then the next 2 which is probably why they rarely include anything from them when I stream the band itself, as well hearing all their newer stuff since the 2010s

His Schecter C-1 is badass. Just got it the other day.
weird fun fact- he produced one of Black Sabbath's albums during their down period
Holy shit! My daughter (who is now almost 40) used to listen to Body Count in the 90's. I never heard before. Love this!
I was the same age and my brother and I were like Holy Shit this is some bad ass shit.
I undrestand her, she have a great taste. I am now 51 and then I was crazy about them too, like today. So we old folks like that kind of music too. Even today I turn the speakers and enjoy headbanging
Cool daughter u should thank her 🤘
I'm 40 and still listen to heavy metal music and I will till the day I die!
@@evilpickle2808 KNAC 4 Life!!!
One of the sickest riffs I’ve ever heard still even after 30 years
that shits hypnotic
My friend in high school thought ALL songs were played on the first 4 notes of a guitar because
thats how the riff is on this one. He never saw anyone playing the guitar halfway up the neck???

I'm white with blue eyes and blonde hair, I'm 79 years old and my favorite band is BODY COUNT!
We need more urban metal like this. Hard and heavy with a message. Heavy riffs from the main man Ernie C. RIP Moose Man and Beatmaster V.
And D-Roe too. He died in 2004 of Lymphoma. He was a solid guitarist and a complimentary sideman to Ernie C. The hockey mask look was badass.

I'm 50 and still love hearing this
Body Count is one of the best crossover thrash band to ever exist.
Check out D.R.I. they defined crossover.
this solo is a masterpiece
This is one of the best hardcore metal bands ever! Love it!!!
This never gets old ......🙂
So underrated powerful rock'n'roll... Timeless classic Black Sabbath riff influenced with strong hardcore roots... Congrats BC!!!
ErnieC is the SHIT! most underrated gutair! Black Sabbath to Master of Puppets type shit
Check out midnight by Ice-T if you already haven’t done so.
Yvan SEMENIC timed the tin tin 123*
That riff is nothing close to Black Sabbath, because no one could truly copy his playing style because of his condition. At the beginning it sounded more like Doom E1M1. That drum solo is awesome though
Yvan, there goes the neighborhood!...
Im 373 years old and in all my time ive never bad ass shit like this🤟
Theres alot of shit thats dropped in the past 400 years... And I totally agree with you bro
I'm 374 and you're a whipper snapper
That's funny. But seriously, you're that old? Hope your doing AIIGHTTT!!!!

I’m 59 and still listen to body count and all old punk back in the day. Keeps ya young!
I remember my buddy playing this CD in his car on our way to high school and we all instantly loved it! Now Ice T plays a cop on Law and Order! Oh how times have changed!
He still sings with Bodycount
Classic. holds up till this day..Hail Body Count..
Saw them at the first lollapolooza in San Diego in 91!
wow nice
This is the first BC song I heard. I immediately went out and bought the first album, one of the best first albums ever made by a band. I'll be 72 in 2 days time and I still love Body Count. Ernie C is an amazing guitarist.
After all these years, still sound fresh as ever and still one of the hardest hitting songs.
I’m 52 and I still use this album to psych myself up!
check out EXPLOITED too
Saw them with Slayer at the stone on broadway. One of the best shows I've ever been. Ooh la la!!
speed metal 🖤 🤘
90s had the best and most diverse music.
God I feel old,I remember borrowing a tape of Body Count music from my friend back in the 90s,this music is still relevant today, this record is still cool,I'm 47 now, music transcends all age barriers.
Not sure where you’re from but we had an initial release with Cop Killer and then another that removed the track…..
I'm 59 and I still love this
Discovered this song 🎵 at the end of 2007 and this band kicks ass in many possible ways. Ice-t is a true legend of rap and hard ass rock.
Almost 30 years later and it still kicks ass
first time i heard this was live at lollapalooza before the album was even out i think. Ice-t did a set then came back on stage and said "meet my new band" and they dropped that opening riff and everyone went fucking bananas.
That's where I first heard them...I thought I was just going to get og rap
I remember when it came on the news that Time Warner was pulling the album. Shut off the TV, drove to Streetside Records, and bought three copies.
I managed to find a copy of the original pressing over the last few years.
This record is a god damn classic!!! I remember I saw this video on MTV 1 time at like 3am and never again lol
I worked as local crew lighting rigger for about 15 years for international bands. Ive seen hundreds of concerts and this band was by far the best gig I've ever seen. The energy from band and punters was unbelievable
One of my biggest concert regrets was being late for a small concert that took place
🏁💖 *October 3, 1992, Pasadena Rose Bowl. Body Count, Motorhead, Metallica, Guns N' Roses.* 💖🏁
To this day, I can still remember FINALLY after being tortured in traffic for more than two hours pulling into the parking lot and hearing Body Count performing. I was secretly fuming about the driver's belief we did not need to leave earlier.
We're walking into the stadium through the security check and I still remember noticing Body Count had already finished and the stage was being changed for Motorhead's set.
Please God someday convince whoever those are with the authority to release a DVD of that entire concert with all four of the band's complete performances. I would do a lot to go back and try to correct that.
I used to hit the heavy bag in my bag yard in Australia to BodyCount. We never got broken into lol!
Still work a heavy bag to body count to this day. 20+ yrs. Legends never die!
It's because they heard Body Count coming from your house and knew you had no taste.
Hard to believe this s*** is just about 30 years old. Still better than s*** on the hip-hop stations today and better than on most rock stations for sure. This s*** is so dope❤
I first watched this on MTV HEADBANGERS BALL in '92.
I didn't expect that this was a looooooong song. \m/
We used to rock this back when it came out. Me and my crew were the only ones that appreciated this awesome music then and we still do today.
A stand alone classic. Time will not weather this tune.
Only ice t would make a metal band and I'd discover it at 25 years old and think it's the best thing ever since sliced bread 😂
@Sam Gallimore Punk rock? You are joking right?
@@altx1978 This is most definitely a punk song. Tell me how it's not.
Jesse .Sutton bruh, it’s hardcore 😂
@@240sxCarson Yeah, initially that was called hardcore punk but it got shortened to hardcore... and that's something completely different than punk rock.
nah this isnt punk its heavy metal. its way way too heavy for punk. its like got hardcore kinda roots like with its political messages & stuff but i think its more apt to just call it metal. gangbanger metal.
I'm 58 I saw Ice-T and Body Count in a little bar in late 92 era in Fort Lauderdale one of the best shows I've ever seen in my life the access to the entertainers was out of the world Ice was so cordial and humble it was completely awesome I wish we could have things like that and shows like that again I don't think the tickets cost me more than fifteen or twenty dollars man I miss the 80s and 90s
When the guitar hits at 1:55...damn. Goose bumps...
Bought a pirate copy cassette of this album on the streets of newark 92/93 and been a disciple ever since!!!🇹🇹
I can still smell the weed and hear my parents screamin " TURN THAT SHIT DOWN !" 😂😈
I bought a original copy in the bricks around the same time and I never regretted it since
It's been fun seeing Body Count evolve from this raw, unrehearsed sound to the finely tuned gangster metal powerhouse they are today. At this point in his life, I think it's safe to say that Ice T is more metal than he is rap.
I lived in a little suburb in rural Illinois in 1992. I was *not* a popular neighbor that summer. Windows open, absolutely *BOOMING* this album. Lol
Barbecues, beer and Body Count! RIP Ernie C
Ernie C "Cunnigan" is not dead!
Holy shit. Got a whole new respect for ice-t.
Yeah, I don't care much for Ice-T's early rap albums, but body Count is great.

The album wasn't called Cop Killer. It was called Body Count, and "Cop Killer" was - on the original pressings - the final track on that record. I know because I still own my copy of it.
Satyros Phil Brucato same here my friend... I still have it👍👏👏👏👏
It was originally called Cop Killer. I was in high school when it was released. Time Warner forced Body Count to change the album title due to the backlash they've received from police unions, families of slain police officers and politicians.
I wore out the first cassette copy I had and replaced it. Later I had a friend digitize that one on to a CD, since it was impossible to find a copy with "Cop Killer", which I put on my iPod. Now we have UA-cam.
@@PhillipBoydIII-hr4hj Don't forget they pulled this song on the second round of CD's put out too. I was lucky enough to get an original.
IT was still ment to be called copkiller but IT was too hardcore for the store shelves

Thirty years later, and this is still genuinely shocking.
Lead and rhythm guitars are just sick.

Spot on Record when it was released . rarely happens , yet this one stands in time!
Never knew both guitarists were left handed. Anyway, this is one bloody awesome song.
As a light skinned brutha myself....Ice T had me wildin' back in high school
I'm 68 and this makes me feel young. Body Count muhfuh
Got a few years on the last two responses, and can only say Body Count does hold their own against any fucking band, punk, extreme metal, doesn't matter. Ice-T has kept a "kill at all costs" attitude throughout Body Count's career, and that is why me and many others love this band so much. There is no compromise, no bullshit, just great heavy in your face fucking metal. He ought to be in the rock and roll hall of shame, I mean fame, looking at a lot of the losers in there. One thing I forgot to mention, and I am very sorry about that. Only Ice-T and Ernie C remain, are still alive from the original band. Mooseman, D Rock the executioner, and Beatmaster V are all gone, Mooseman being killed in a drive by shooting where he was not the target.
3:22 as a kid, I always thought this had War Pigs vibes. In 2020, I realized that BC was & is still dealing with a war with pigs.
Even though the lyrics aren't specifically on your topic, it does capture the element of the times in the US (July 2nd, 2020)
I love Body Count!
This songs concept is so dope!! It was good yo see body count push the envelope like this!!
Back in the early mid-90s when we lost our way in The Rock world.
Rock, metal got commercial, hair bands started to suck and were corporate built. A rapper had to come out and remind us how it was done.
And this shit still hits heavier than just about anything else out there today.
In the words of Ice-T himself, I feel bad for anybody that only listens to one style of music
this is the first song i heard from body count back in the early 90s
Me too. That’s why he named this song “there goes the neighborhood”. Meaning a rapper who loved metal was breaking into the arena. I had the original release which included Cop Killer before it got removed. Wish I would’ve kept track of it.
