what makes you think he doesn’t know more about swordfish than josh? josh is busy running a channel and fishing all kinds of fish , when one specializes, they’re better than the best
Man that’s tough, you definitely deserve a win. Glad to see you back at it and smiling. We lost a giant that we lost after 3 hours and then 2 weeks later got a 500 lb Pumpkin. Keep at it you will get her!
That first captain telling Josh what to do is like a idiot telling a Michelin Top Chef how to make a cheese sandwich... 🙄 seriously.. Josh KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING there bud..
i love your videos josh and im glad u beat cancer man i prayed for you bro and ive been watching you for years and you inspired me to start fishing keep up the amazing videos bro
just a question, if you are going to spend hours targeting strong, deep water fish why not have at least 1 trailing hook? I know they have good eyesight but reducing your bite rate slightly to decrease the chance of losing the fish sounds good to me
Good question. Maybe another hook means a possible rigging failure when one seems to catch big fish just fine. Giant tuna are often caught on single hooks too
Hey.. my father used to watch this channel everyday and he fell in love with it! But sadly he passed away last week from cancer. He used to come from work, put this channel in the tv and watch your videos all day long... Man I miss him😔
I am So Happy You are Back! But your face, after losing that last fish, was like a young kid who just got his favorite BMX bike stolen from him! 😅 Great video! "Merry heart does good like a medicine"! Proverbs 17:22 God Bless All! 🙏🏽🌍🌎🌏🙏🏽
Can we get a big fish video. Like the ending here was like a movie. All the music cuts. I mean that hurt me to see that. But no cap. It was still epic. A cinematic masterpiece
Great video as always I was thinking the same I wonder if you could catch giant squid in the Caribbean.. Bro that was an awesome fish you guys have to go after it again you made a good team You guys did right in not using the harpoon otherwise it would of gotten away injured and maybe died so no harpoon until its given up
Ahhhhggg that is the worst feeling in the world. Fought a big sword up here in the north eastern canyons for 4 hours and lost him within 100 yards of the boat. That’s what keeps us coming back!
So glad to see you back Josh. But it hurts me to just se that hook pull on the big sword I can feel ur pain bro but keep ur head up you will get a real big one. Just like that big grouper you got off shore takes time. But stay positive bro tight lines
One time while drift fishing with a herring by an oil rig only about 9 miles out in the Gulf I hooked something big and very strong. While still close to the rig a big Sailfish jumped straight up out of the water just 3 feet from the boat as I stood there in shock. Then he took off taking drag like crazy off my 50lb test stand up rig. Several hundred feet away now he jumped. He jumped several more times then from about 150 feet away he attacked..... tail walking right at the stern of my boat. I froze......That sailfish aimed right at me and came up and into the boat with his slashing bill stopping 6 inches from my stomach. The only thing that stopped him was he wedged himself between the motor and side of the motor well. Meanwhile my fishing buddy had gotten up on the bow and was about to jump overboard had the sailfish gotten into my 20 foot boat. He thrashed about as I jumped back then slid off the boat and went to the bottom about 120 feet deep. I fought him hard for another 45 minutes before finally bringing him in and found that the line had been tangled around his body and fin....I'm guessing from his attack. I had never been attacked by a fish before especially one over 9 feet long with a 2 foot spear for a nose. When we got back to the marina there happened to be an Outdoor Writer for the newspaper and my experience got written up in the newspaper. Sailfish are tough and mean and can be very aggressive I found out.....LOL
As much as this little Ohioan would love to go saltwater fishing its wayyyy too expensive for me I can't afford it even just booking a charter would be difficult great video Josh wish you coulda got that last fish in!
I have this username because I love swordfish so much! Amazing video, sorry about the ending, can't wait to see what see monsters you bring us in 2024!
Great battle. Now you know they are around n have what it takes. Later fishing might be good but also fresher fish in shallower water... That beast took n gave line more than a seamstress.
Hey josh Ive never commented on one of your videos before but I get to now. Tough loss but great video, I feel like I remember you and Dr. Borrego in a chasing monster episode with Cyril Chauquet a long time ago. I pray God will bless and heal you completely from cancer👍
Swords should have a minimum size of 100# figure approximate length, I' prefer 200# biggest I've seen on youtube was 757# and they can get much bigger.
I wouldn’t have gone back with the first guy either Josh 😂😂
Was looking for this comment 😂😂
That guy was super rude!
Yh that guy was not it
That first captain needs a reality check of who's on the boat. Talking to josh like he's never been sword fishing before.
Nobody is a bigger know it all than Josh. They all have egos
There’s always one ignit
what makes you think he doesn’t know more about swordfish than josh? josh is busy running a channel and fishing all kinds of fish , when one specializes, they’re better than the best
-"are you going to listen to me or do what you want to do"
- me: "thank you for giving me two options" "say no more"

Love you Doc for taking care of our Josh!! ❤❤❤

Swordfish have extremely soft mouths. More hooks in their mouths=more holes in the their mouths= less fish landed
I discard both teories.. preference is key!
Sportsmanship, and also more is not always better
Good question. Maybe another hook means a possible rigging failure when one seems to catch big fish just fine. Giant tuna are often caught on single hooks too

Man I miss him😔
So sorry for your loss! Cancer is miserable! I’m glad our videos brought him joy!
Yea thank you for bringing him joy❤!
My condolences to you and your loved ones
@@Xanderkuoutdoors ❤
Sorry to hear that, my condolences
Awesome video Josh! Glad to see you back out there! Felt that ending...
It’s just so nice to have blacktiph back again. hope you stay healthy!
Captain is an A…’ This is so unsportsmanlike. Like feeding corn to a deer!!
Man, I’ve lost some “big” fish albeit they were largemouth. I felt your pain!
Glad to see you back at it again! My favorite YT channel.
Got to be one of my favourite videos you guys have done I can feel that frustration for you guys when that giant sword came off in the end
Dude awesome video! Love how u came back from cancer so fast and your doing the things you love!
wait, he got cancer? i never knew and i have watched for years
I am So Happy You are Back! But your face, after losing that last fish, was like a young kid who just got his favorite BMX bike stolen from him! 😅
Great video!

Josh im really glad to see you fishing again , you are a though guy going thru all this 💪
First guy was disrespectful
Can we get a big fish video. Like the ending here was like a movie. All the music cuts. I mean that hurt me to see that. But no cap. It was still epic. A cinematic masterpiece
Wow!! That’s sad that you lost that big one. But hey… now you still got the challenge of getting him next time.
Great video as always I was thinking the same I wonder if you could catch giant squid in the Caribbean..
Bro that was an awesome fish you guys have to go after it again you made a good team
You guys did right in not using the harpoon otherwise it would of gotten away injured and maybe died so no harpoon until its given up
I agree it was good that you did not use the harpoon it just would of gotten away and died
I also agree it was far far too soon to use the harpoon the fish will live for next time it hurts but its better than dying from an injury
Ahhhhggg that is the worst feeling in the world. Fought a big sword up here in the north eastern canyons for 4 hours and lost him within 100 yards of the boat. That’s what keeps us coming back!
Heartbreaking loss Josh.
Josh takes losing fish hard!❤😊 It's what makes fishing fun! You can't cath them that easy.😅😅
So glad to see you back Josh. But it hurts me to just se that hook pull on the big sword I can feel ur pain bro but keep ur head up you will get a real big one. Just like that big grouper you got off shore takes time. But stay positive bro tight lines

Great video! We’ve been wanting to try for swords for awhile
Love you Josh!! And Love Dr. Robert!!!!! Catch'em!!
What you said at the end is how I felt when I caught my first tuna I was so exited and I felt like I reached the next level
Well, he'll live to fight another day and so will you. That was a big fish! Thanks for the footage!
Welcome back bro, we missed you!!!
Good to see you out there fishing again.
Welcome back, nice fish
As much as this little Ohioan would love to go saltwater fishing its wayyyy too expensive for me I can't afford it even just booking a charter would be difficult great video Josh wish you coulda got that last fish in!
Could you try a food chain challenge again please
Yes! We need to film a new one 🙌
Thanks so much for responding to my message you have made my day
Talking to Josh like he’s not a real Angler is crazy
I have this username because I love swordfish so much! Amazing video, sorry about the ending, can't wait to see what see monsters you bring us in 2024!
Its okay Josh you'll get him next time dude!!!
That captain was acting like Josh has never touched a fishing rod 😢
Love the videos man epic adventure
Man i can feel the pain through the camera
well done sir. prayers you stay healthy
Wow that was definitely a freaking monster dude!!
Loved this series ❤
Wow, that's sux brother, there is always next time, good video 💪
Love the vid, helps us up north in the New England winter. What foulie coat do you wear for offshore fishing?
Banger video!
Nice Catch!
I love you’re videos man, you’re such an inspiration i hope in the future I get the chance to meet you
Blessings
Hey Josh it’s me from the boat show just saying awesome video
I’ve been waiting for this video
nice man you inspired me to start fishing now i am catching 40 inch catfish
That's awesome!! 🙌
Great battle. Now you know they are around n have what it takes. Later fishing might be good but also fresher fish in shallower water... That beast took n gave line more than a seamstress.
I caught a 4 swordfish in Venezuela and the biggest was 11 foot 1 and was like realing up a boot, no fight at all.
Glad to see you out and enjoying life. God is good!
why do you fish with electric reels would it not be funner to get it up to like 100-50 meters then reel the rest by hand?
Great video brother
Gosh, not being able to see your fish while knowing its within reach is devastating... I'm feeling for you. great video tho, very enjoyable!
i could feel your emotions for sure... that's rough, but amazing video! you'll get your lunker sword, i have faith in you
Captain you let both swords get away by waiting. The fish was up keep reeling and spear him!
I feel your pain!😢
You'll get him Josh! Good luck!
God Bless Israel. 🇺🇸❤🇮🇱
Hi my name is Huddy
Wow you totally didn’t just have a robot reel in your fish for you instead of putting effort some into it.
Who's upvoting this? Just watch something else if you don't like it.
So good to see you fishing How much line on the 80w and topshot and what lineclass?
The Fish fought for his Life for hours, he just won, thats the game. He deserved it i think.
Really amazing. But it’s that big, it must’ve been in the back of your mind, but it might be better if it comes off the hook after four hours.
"one of the meanest"
*incoming baby sword fish looking cuter than heck
Is it not possible to land one actually reeling? Never seen a self reeling reel before
Saw a reply from Josh about reeling up a 12lb weight, how deep we fishing???😂
1500-1800ft
That's why it's called "Fishing" and not "catching".
Love this channel ❤
Ciao ti seguo dalla Sardegna Italia! Sarebbe bello venire a peaca con te ... se vuoi venire vieni in Sardegna
Why does the fish only run after you take off the weight?
It took like when the weight was both on and off. Normally, as the fish are coming up, they’re pulling against the weight.
Longer rod would be far more forgiving
HE IS BACK LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Josh is the Reed Timmer of fishing, always excited above and beyond. lol
luar biasa❤❤❤ strike strike
You pay for a charter you fish the way you want!!!
Get em next time guys
Epic fight bro we cant win them all stay safe
Well - for once the fish beats the reel. Kind regards. BTW - I recently watched a guy catching a 900 lb bluefin tuna from a fighting chair.
Ounch that's so painful!
Hey josh Ive never commented on one of your videos before but I get to now. Tough loss but great video, I feel like I remember you and Dr. Borrego in a chasing monster episode with Cyril Chauquet a long time ago. I pray God will bless and heal you completely from cancer👍
Why not use a circle? No foul hooks and a way better hook position.
If you want monster Swordfish you need to come to New Zealand. 🇳🇿
Bro using a $5k reel
great content, great emotional damage But awesome Auto release.
Where are you in this video?
Nice fish
I’m sorry about the sword
this is why saltwater fishing is better then freshwater
Nothing is worse than a fishing spitting the hook
Hey Josh, nice video as always. God Bless
Thanks for watching 🙏
can you do a collab with Landshark outdoors?
ammazing,welcome froom indonesia
Swords should have a minimum size of 100# figure approximate length, I' prefer 200# biggest I've seen on youtube was 757# and they can get much bigger.
Need a 3rd man if he had the spot light going that fish might be dead.
Sometimes the fish deserves to get away. Feel for you though. Great fishing
It’s kinda a cheat code to use that rod
Reeling up 12lbs of lead, especially when you have to reset your drift with no fish on it is just miserable!
Well that's why it's called fishing and not catching no matter if you have a trailer hook or not
