having played there many times and recorded in the studio there in wardour street in the ,mid / late 1960s! and seen so many legendry bands starting their career , there this is a wonderfull production ,
Maybe I should be interviewed for the series. I remember being first in the queue, from about 3 in the afternoon, for Hendrix and when I entered the club there were already 50 people sitting down. Saw Cream on many occasions there. Met my French wife there in August 1968. We're still married and living in Paris.
This is the comp reel that was made for internal consumption at The Marquee at Upper St Martin's Lane for a six month members club license only with no further usage granted nor paid for a window between October 2007-March 2008 only. I know. I made it. So you've added some Beat Club clips to fatten it up. . And a bloody cheek quite frankly taking the credit for the work here.
Hi Steve, any idea when this will be released? There are a crowd of former marquee regulars that are busting to see it. There's a very lively FB page about the old place, come and take a look...Facebook-The Marquee Club, Wardour Street. I would post a link but youtube won't allow me

Such a shame there`s almost nothing left of all the live music venue`s we used to have.
So lucky to have seen the London band Wasted Youth there back in 1980!!.
I was one of the lighting guys at the charging cross road. I did the closing night show. Very sad night.

1976 supporting Eddie and the Hot Rods
Did you ever finish this. Many of the artists, particularly Rock, Jazz and RnB, used to join us at the Flamingo all-nighters.
Wardour Street Marquee was the best ever London venue. Fact.
