What do I think of Tesla FSD:
    1. I am impressed with how it drives (not robotic)
    2. I think they are on the right path and will soon (1 year) have millions of cars driving themselves with no supervision required.
    3. I think the “cameras only” approach is the right choice.
    4. I think they are the leader in AI and will leverage the FSD tech to Optimus
    5. I think Tesla has a bright future

That sounds great. I am loving the model Y. It took me 5 seconds to plug it in when I got home today (no stopping at a gas station). It will charge to full overnight while I sleep. It cost me nothing to charge my car on solar. I drove my EV 2,300 miles last month and the cost was ZERO. Its the best selling car in the world. It cost me $39k and its the fastest car I have ever driven. If you touch the pedal it immediately responds it you floor it you are momentarily projected into the future! :)

@@DavidGetchel In regard to the mobile charger. It can do up to 32 amps of power with a NEMA 14-50 outlet. If you find that a standard 120v outlet can't handle the amount of driving you do on a daily basis, I suggest looking into the NEMA 14-50.

    This video is highly underrated.
This guy has been working in this field for many many years and can actually talk from experience. So any of the naysayers really can’t argue this guy.
-Regarding LiDAR “this is what all the other companies are still trying to do”
-the costs of the GPS, computers, etc that he used back in the 90’s were prohibitively expensive. Cathy Wood and others have stated that moors law means that costs will go down over time, and this is the perfect example. Even compute power he mentioned that our phones have more computing capacity than the 4 computers they used.
He is genuinely shocked by how good it drives and says multiple times that it drives like a human. It is not robotic which shows how much more advanced the software is.
If you are skeptical about robotaxi, this video should change your mind.

Nice and interesting video. Thanks. A couple comments/hints:
    1) You can set chill, standard or aggressive for FSD and also chill and standard for driving behavior.
    2) Stop sign behavior is mandated by NHTSA to be a full stop at sign with a full 1 second pause. Tesla is working to get that rule revised by NHTSA to be more humanlike since statistically only 0.5% of human drivers make full stops at signs. The proposal is to allow 1 mph "stops".
    3) At 1st it's uncomfortable not to be in control but that quickly changes as you realize how good it is. The car becomes the pilot and you the observant copilot. On the whole it's already safer than human drivers in my area.

Imagine a future where self-driving cars, connected through Wi-Fi, orchestrate a seamless dance on our roads. This isn't just about cutting-edge technology-it's a vision for safer, cleaner, and more efficient mobility. Accidents, road rage, and drunk driving could become rarities, potentially saving countless lives. Beyond safety, this interconnected system could revolutionize urban planning, reduce environmental impacts, and make our cities greener and more livable. The ripple effects on society, from lower insurance costs to reduced emergency room visits, promise a transformation that could far exceed our expectations. As we edge closer to this reality, the potential for a safer and more inclusive transportation future shines brightly.

An extremely unique perspective indeed, very interesting to hear and see what went into those original prototype vehicles, seriously impressive how much you were able to do with so little computing power, those days just the gauge cluster of a modern car has more compute power than that rack of 1990's computers. Now custom ASICs in the latest Teslas can do tens of trillions of operations per second, crazy. Although do you think computational power was the most major limitation preventing things like a neural network implementation, or do you think the technology was more held back in your sector unlike Tesla's willingness to "...[push] the envelop in terms of safety", for example by putting it in production vehicles and having consumers beta test it and supply data?
But I think the main question to ask is do you think your Tesla will ever be capable or be allowed to operate on public roads with no one inside (SAE level 5) as they advertise it will eventually be capable of? The same question extends to would a Tesla sold in 2014 with the original now decade old FSD HW1 computer and sensors be any different?

We went through a lot of different stuff over the years.
That original Mule (Navigation Test Vehicle)
      - C and even some Assembly for the low level interfaces
      - Developed on Sun Sparcstation, Silicon Graphics (Unix machines) and compiled then embedded on VME on the vehicle. The vehicle ran a realtime unix called VxWorks
      - We wrote most of that code using vi and later Emacs
-Later it was modularized and switched to Single Board Computers (component based)
-I think went through a PC104 stack phase and even ran AB CAN bus for some stuff
The Blue Rock Crawler used rack mounted PC's running Windows connected via two networks
C code and developed on Visual Studio 10 and backup under Subversion
The Toyota ran 12 server mounted PC's running Red Hat Linux (Fedora)
      All in C and C++
We bought 10 identical laptops (for the team) and set them all up with the exact same development environment.
Note: I remember even back in 1989 we experimented briefly with neural nets and fuzzy logic but nothing used for the cars.
      Good question, Thanks!

We recently purchased the car and its my wife's car so at the time of this filming, I had only driven a Tesla (of any kind) 3 times. I was not even comfortable with the car driving it myself. Its a lot different than my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. No key, no gauges, no foot on the break, etc. I was not even sure how to take back control of the car! That said, I did try autopilot (adaptive cruise) on my 2nd drive (loved it). My truck does not have adaptive cruise. I also tried the one where it stays in its lane (also on the 2nd trip). On the 3rd trip I tried the FSD V11 for about 5 minutes and was NOT impressed, although I have to admit that it was still definitely way better than anything I ever built (20 years ago). As of today, I have only driven on FSD V12.3.3 Four times total so still not in a position to really evaluate with authority.

These are neat experiments for the military, but they have some real very serious ethical implications that the companies pushing them, the media and therefore the general public are seeming to ignore completely.
We definitely should be voting for these things to be regulated in such a way that there is software that guarantees that the driver is always sacrificed rather than damage or hurt people outside the vehicle and that should be a disclaimer given to anyone that wants to buy one!

Stop babbling hypothetical BS as if it was a daily occurrence, people die in traffic accidents every day since the car was invented. People are horrible drivers and a lot of them drive cars not suitable for anything but a scrap yard crusher geez, relax the ignorance and learn how to 🎉

@@Duder0n Well, of course, there will be scenarios where someone is distracted by a cell phone or simply cannot react fast enough. I don’t want to drive a vehicle that might choose to kill me over some drunk idiot that jumps into traffic. Or a blowup doll, mannequin or other human shaped object it thinks is a person.
Nor do I want a vehicle that would choose to plow through the little girl chasing her ball into the street, when it calculates it will otherwise crash at a potentially fatal speed. I want the option in the moment to choose to sacrifice myself.
It may be way too late by the time you change your focus and put your hands on the wheel. There is no question that scenarios like this will occur, once a large number of these vehicles hit the road.
These were just a couple examples of the many scenarios that have very real ethical implications to not putting people in direct control of a vehicle on public roads
You certainly cannot count on humans correcting the actions of the vehicle after it’s already made decisions, to remedy all of these scenarios.

Tesla has no full self driving. Tesla is not even among the 10 players in this arena. They have a level-2 advance driving system.

Who makes a better FSD than Tesla?

@@GWAForUTBE Tesla doesn't make any FSD. Right now cars drive themselves on the road of many cities, none of them are Tesla.
Mercedes, GM, BMW all have L3 system, far ahead of Tesla. But the fanbois believe any Musk's lies.

@@GWAForUTBE That's your comparison? Videos? I'm telling that those cars are on the streets. Those cars are certified a level above Tesla and demonstrated by experts. You speak of videos. You know how many of those were faked by Musk himself?

@@GWAForUTBE So you watch video and that makes you an expert? First, right now at least 4 companies in the US and 4 in China have robotaxis on the road. Tesla has none. Those are not videos that everyone can fake. Musk is an expert in faking videos. It's the reality. Second, Mercedes, GM, BMW are certified Level 3 by SAE. Tesla admitted that they are Level 2. These are your videos that people can fix and show you what they want. This is the reality.
Tesla has no FSD and is among the last in terms of autonomous driving technology.
