What boots are those? I had a similar pair when I lived in Utah and I accidentally left them behind and couldn't remember what they were as I picked them up at a Goodwill on the cheap. I loved them so much.
It is nice to see someone finally making a camp in other than ideal areas. You had better areas there but chose a less than desirable one for demonstration.
That's great - it reminds me of growing up near a river and the best stealth camping spots were in muddy locations like that. Hidden out of site, but tough conditions to get comfortable in. The fishing usually sucked too. :). Great choice of nightly entertainment btw 😀
There is something very comforting about watching these videos. With the fire and cooking and sleeping in the woods. I can almost feel like I am there.
@@SurvivalLilly I've seen you make that "onion soup" a few times. It would be so much better with some dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, sage). Just a few pillboxes in your bug out bag. Being stealthy doesn't mean you can't eat well.
Many a night I spent on a muddy bank, tossing a line in a stream with nothing but a couple of logs for a raised bed and a tarp for shelter and ya know what? It is truly empowering to know camp can be anywhere, at any time, at a moments notice and still be enjoyable and allows us to experience a vagabond style of stealth camping. Very easy to move from one place to another with this style of camp...great video. thanks
Mud everywhere. No fish. No breakfast. Uncomfortable bed. Very little sleep. Still had a good time? That's a true love for the outdoors. I enjoyed the longer video. Thanks for sharing it with us.
One item that I had to look twice to be sure, ..... was our Wilderness Woman sporting fresh lipstick even before she crawled out of her sleeping bag in the morning after a sleepless night surrounded by mud?? So much mud, more mud, and no fish, no breakfast, more and more mud, (did I mention that you picked a rather muddy place to camp?), and still it sure looked like a pale pink shade on your lips that didn't come from rubbing your mouth with muddy fingers!! ..... Aw, just kidding with you Lilly, it was a welcome and a nice touch for the environment you picked. BTW, did you ever get those boots completely cleaned of m**??
I think you did absolutely just fine. It rains alot in Oregon and you just get use to all the mud, with gray skies. Though it was rough... but still, you kept to it. I'm impressed. And I also liked how you kept spirits up. Good work.
I know this is an older video but if you find yourself without oil and you have mayonnaise you can use that to cook your veg as long as you don't let it get too hot so you don't burn the egg protein. Love how you can sleep on logs and bark in the mud under a poncho and still wake up beautiful. You're an amazing young lady. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
I have to hand it to you Lily, setting up camp in the mud when you don't have to shows some real dedication. Excellent work and the soup looked real good. Thanks for this.
Mud rarely makes for a pleasant camp buddy but your attitude and skills transformed that challenge into a lovely soup and an excellent fire. Nicely done !
Another great video - thank you! I would like to offer a suggestion that you also carry some much smaller hooks - and when you do not have bait available, you can use this trick an old fly fishing mentor shared with me: 1: Use a comb, brush, or, comb your hair with your fingers. 2: Recover any of your hair that you find caught in the comb. 3: Roll the hair between your finger and thumb so that it forms a small oblong shape - much like many insect larva cases. 4: Position that onto a small hook and start fishing. We have caught trout, smallmouth bass and sunfish in local streams and ponds using this method. It has worked whether we actively fished and worked when we left the line for an hour or so also. A small piece of ornamental tinsel added to the hair can also work well. Good luck - and I look forward to your continued success!
Lilly I honestly believe that the food you cook on your channel looks just as good, if not better than actual cooking channels! Keep up the great work!
Sweet poncho love the area. And again this is an example of what Survival/Bushcraft Overnighters should be......practicing the skills that we talk about, JMHO. GREAT Video
Thank you for the video. Camping in the muck is the worst. It is always a surprise how quickly gear can become covered in mud. Cheers for the Wednesday afternoon fun.
Great video Lilly, it was one of my favorites of yours. I like the longer format and I'm really impressed by your adaptability to rough camping spots. Glad to see I'm not the only one watching UA-cam in the woods at night.
You are an awesome and amazing woman. I enjoy watching your videos with my 6 year old daughter, she finds you as an inspiration and has frequently asked to try some of your techniques in our family camping trips. Thank you for all you do.
I did something like this a few years back, it was an interesting night lol. Went with minimal gear, 2 wool blankets and no sleep bag in the mud. I had my poncho tarp and it rained for most of the evening before the sun went down. it was very muddy and wet but it was a good experience. I was doing it for a challenge. It was a stealth campout so the fire was very minimal and kept very low profile. Your video brought back fun memories.
Great vid. Thanks for illustrating that a perfect campsite is NEVER a sure thing. FYI : corn kernels make great bait... especially in fast-moving or murky streams. Rock on, Lilly.
Good to see you again. The PVC sticking out of the hillside and milled wood would indicate you are not too far off in the woods. It's good to see you practicing your skills not too far from civilization. In the off chance one's dwelling became uninhabitable those camping skills would come in handy. Thanks for all your videos. Wishing you continued success!
You can attach a small bell or noise maker to your fishing pole. You will know when it gets hit. I purchases a surplus Gor Tex bivy sack to go over my sleeping bag helps keep the bag dry when it dews.
Flint and steel are by far my very favorite way to make a fire. I use it so much that I am constantly running out of char cloth and always having to make more.
Just an idea, you might want to use some thin braided fishing line. Your nylon line was awfully curly because of the way you spun it around whatever it is you carry it on. Also it is way more resistant than cheap nylon so you have probably better survivability on it for longer trips and you should be able to break it free if you get tangled by using the "snip the line" trick.
+Survival Lilly Have you caught fish from that creek before? If so, what kind? You certainly took care to "leave no trace" when you broke camp. The flint and steel worked quite well with char cloth. Camping beside a flowing creek has always been for me quite peaceful and the sound of the water at night is like a lullaby. Thanks for another fun episode. Cheers.
Wow Lilly, I have enjoyed your video’s ever since the first one I saw! Love the work you do. I’m not sure where you are but, one of the aspects that some of the people you appeal too, have to pay attention to is water levels from very far away! Some places may have rain as much as three hundred miles away, and over the matter of four or five hours, make the water level where you’re at rise considerably! I think I would have camped up on the top rim of that creek, just to be on the safe side! Remember, safety first, always! I can’t believe how many of these people are trying to hook up with you! Remember that you can’t just trust anyone anymore! Lots of luck, and I’ll be watching!
Lilly I really appreciate your videos. I agree Sean has an awesome channel. Interesting combination for dinner. The onion soup looked really good. Interesting configuration with the poncho. I did a couple videos under a poncho not long ago. You might enjoy them.
Lilly as we say here in Scotland you are as tough as old boots. Love it. Also when fishing for trout have you tried bubble and fly..it never fails .Best wishes.
Great muddy over nighter easy meal or the night looks good. Shawn James channel is fantastic his work is awesome and I love his reflections he does on the videos it makes you think you life choices over.
I've seen this location in your previous video's, you choose the second worst spot available, only one I could think of that would have been nastier was in that creek. Awesome job of showing that any location could be made to work. I can only imagine with the added burden of filming it was a challenge. You showed your mastery once again, thanks for the vid.
I am so glad there were not mosquitoes. Could you fish all night? I think you are one of the best fire makers on u-tube.There is always a great deal of thought that goes into your films- What a great product you make. Thank you so much.
I have watched Sean’s videos on making maple syrup. Beautiful cabin. I love his dog too. I would think the hardest thing about getting into your sleeping bag is keeping the mud off it.
Your so adventurous.I used to go camping but with little with me.Now that I'm much older the Gf not into that much but she very creative like you.I miss those adventures but health issues prevent it.Much great memories! I wish you both much success.Maybe you can do this for a living.Sometime you need to go to the mountains of West Virginia. There are many places to camp and hike.If you would let me know if you consider this.
“It was a rough over nighter, but, it was a lot of fun” - survival Lilly Bold setup! Looks like fun , would you next time disclose the weight of your pack? mention the best item you brought, mention the item that you wish you would have brought, and finally mention about something you brought but probably didn’t need to bring ? Thanks
This remind me when I was in the military we slept in the field for about week to two weeks at a time we were given small tent for two people we used to call it ranger tent we were given only sleeping bag and a small folding shovel we had to dig a channel around the tent from inside so water won't go in. We slept on bare ground with sleeping bag only the rain hit really hard in the second day and everything was covered in mud but it was a lot of fun and if you built your shelter the right way the inside will stay dry, but we were given food so we didn't have to worry about it we were just training.
That was by far the dirtiest overnighter I ever experienced :P FAQ: Poncho used in this video: amzn.to/2G3wOG6 Thanks for watching.
What boots are those? I had a similar pair when I lived in Utah and I accidentally left them behind and couldn't remember what they were as I picked them up at a Goodwill on the cheap. I loved them so much.
Those are Kamik boots. I think they are Canadian made. I love them too. They are great
Survival Lilly I'm a huge fan great video!!!!!
Thank you! You made my day! My pair had removable wool liners that made them so easy to dry out if my feet were sweaty (they never leaked though).
thats getting down n dirty LOL
It is nice to see someone finally making a camp in other than ideal areas. You had better areas there but chose a less than desirable one for demonstration.

Thanks I appreciate your comment :)
Self reliance, another good reason to watch youtube!!!...
With that kind of monster fire you'll lose the stealth attribute, at least as long as the fire burns.
Sean James you should invite Survival Lilly to Canada and do a few episodes with you guys together. doing some cabin life details... ??
There is something very comforting about watching these videos. With the fire and cooking and sleeping in the woods. I can almost feel like I am there.
Cooks onion soup on an open fire next to a lake and sleeps on logs under a tarp, amazing that you can do this so gracefully, real hardcore !
Thanks Canadian Prepper; I gave my best in this video. Unfortunately no fish tough :) have a good day
Ha ha,All american prepper style, lol, just kidding.I love both of you guys.Dont go to the fema camps.

If she qaa English she would be a bugger outer.
It's completely pitch dark forest and you are cooking champing chilling making UA-cam video for us ...
Madam you are awesome !
That is exactly what camping at my home bush would look like right now -we need some sun -good job Lilly
To work with One's hands is a great gift.
The mud! Bet your boots were feeling pretty heavy after a while! Loved the night shots of the 🔥 and the bird sounds in the morn. Cheers- Brooke

Good work.
Reminds me of the river bank I used to camp and fish on about 35 years ago. Thanks for the vid Lilly. Brings back good memories.
I don't have cable, or a TV. You and many others like you keep me entertained . Thank you.
TV free is the way to be!
free tv for going on 5 years now. I don't miss cable at all ;)
People like this are a real treasure

Lilly, the only thing I can say is you do it properly, as in a camp from nothing, in a sea of mud, well done you.Arthur.
GREAT Video

Would it be that was USMC issue?

Out of your comfort zone, I like it,, One thing about camping in the mud is it get onto and into everything.
A tough and awkward spot but you nailed it and proven that it can be done. Nice
You are an awesome and amazing woman. I enjoy watching your videos with my 6 year old daughter, she finds you as an inspiration and has frequently asked to try some of your techniques in our family camping trips. Thank you for all you do.
Danke fürs mitnehmen liebe Lilly! Ja das war rough und Cool 😎 Beste Grüße Sepp

Nice one Lilly! I follow Shawn for a long time too now. He's a very knowledgeable craftsman for sure!
Thanks Lilly...a fun little poncho camp out...is better then none at all...
You never know where you're going to be stuck for the night. Sometimes you won't be at the Ritz.
Simply awesome.
And you left nothing behind except footprints.
I love you!
Karl
Brutally honest. I have no words to completely express how impressed I am right now.
Your right Shaun has a great channel ! He is a very good wood worker !
Well done Lilly... loving the "Leave no trace" policy! Also loving the pattern on that poncho!
I am bush crafting in Japan! I always watch your videos. Camping in the mud! It is a great idea.
Lilly you rock!!! It must have been tempting to go to one of your more comfortable shelters. Thanks so much for sharing!
Great vid. Thanks for illustrating that a perfect campsite is NEVER a sure thing. FYI : corn kernels make great bait... especially in fast-moving or murky streams. Rock on, Lilly.

This was wonderful. Camping in the mud sucks! Great Job! Very Entertaining. Most importantly: Select Location, Build Shelter, Gather firewood.
I love camping, looked like fun. I grew up on a lake, mud is just part of the fun.
hey Lilly I got an mail today that had the 25 best survival stations on youtube and you were on the covr!!!Congrats!!
How could anyone not fall in love with Lilly. She is amazing.

Lilly! You said "creek!" and you said it perfectly! You just impressed this "country boy." :)
Flint and steel are by far my very favorite way to make a fire. I use it so much that I am constantly running out of char cloth and always having to make more.
You make it look so easy making fire. I've tried many times. Must be the wet British Columbia weather. Love your videos, keep them coming!
Great video! I love camping in the outdoors and that soup looked good! I love all of your videos and footage. Keep it going.

This was your best camping experience ever. Wonderful video, especially the owl saying "who, who, who!"
Hey Lilli, Thank you for posting the link to Shaws Cabin build, I really enjoyed it.
Thank you so much Lilly! FINALLY someone walks the walk!!
You chose a difficult spot but did well. You are clearly in good shape and strong. Thanks, jim TN

Lubię Twoje filmy bo są takie prawdziwe. rób tak dalej. super.

Teacher, thank you. I learn so much from you and our friend, Canadian Prepper
I have watched Sean’s videos on making maple syrup. Beautiful cabin.
I love his dog too.
I would think the hardest thing about getting into your sleeping bag is keeping the mud off it.
You really took your time to clean up the area behind you.. love that 😊👍
Good job making the best out of a bad situation... that's what Bushcraft can teach you!
That looked such hard work but you just keep on smiling, brilliant ! was very entertaining and enjoyable to watch 👍
another great video Lilly, again you have a beautiful country, I hope sometime I am able to visit it.
That was a muddy camp lol !! Great video as always Lilly.

Not only is Sean a fellow 🍁, but as big as Canada is, he only lives 2 hours from me. Rock on Lily and Sean👍
Congrats on 650k subscribers!
I watch you, Robinet & mr. james and enjoy all 3.
Mud? What mud? Great video, Lily. Love how you work everything out on camera...

Another Great Video. TY Lilly.
Keep up the good work i have learned alot from you
Great inspiration thumbs up
Lovely as always❤️Thanks for the amazing videos🌹
1:32, The "bed" of logs! So funny! I was thinking that you might be able to find a discarded mattress in an area like that.
I have that tarp/poncho :) Nice to see a camp in a place like where I have to camp!
This is one of your best EVER!
