passed first time with a couple of minors. almost dropped it on manual handling. dont lock the handle bar while turning. lucky i didnt. paused a bit and competed the manuvere. all the best to all
Watching this video after failing my mod 1 today because I didn't stop quick enough in the emergency stop and locked the wheels as you described. Thanks for doing this great video. Taking these tips on board! Cheers.
Unlucky mate, not a problem hope it helps next time around! Good news is it's an easy manoeuvre to improve just on theory as I've described, unlike a balance one. If you forget everything else, just remember: rest your foot over the rear's, and let the front brakes do most the work!
They’re ridiculously strict I think like I believe you should get some do overs like I put my foot down on figure of 8 and so I failed. All it would’ve taken is to let me do a couple more figure of 8s to show that I can do it
That is the point of the test. You need to be able to do any of these manoeuvres anytime anywhere. It's a crude rule of thumb for ability but there needs to be some sort of criteria for such a short test.
Thank you! In all fairness that is the dummy-proof method which I agree with purely for test purposes. Goes without saying in real life you want to be using both of course as effectively to decrease your stopping distance in an emergency. (I guess this is why most instructors have to teach using the front and rear from DVSA training / guidelines and due to liability...)
The Future that’s, I bought this up with a couple of guys today. They both said when on track they don’t even use the rear. Apparently this is common in racing. On the road you’re right, good to be used to using both. A lot of schools are starting to use ABS bikes too, my SV has this and in an emergency... mash that pedal. ;). Have a good one!
I have my CBT and am going to do the full test soon, so I have been practicing my tight figures of 8. You need to counter lean, get the bike right over, put near full lock on , and use the clutch to speed up if you feel you are falling into the turn. Same goes for U turns. Practice them! Do them over and over again till they are tight and you are confident you can drop into one any time.
Hello mate, just a question. How come rebooking cost only £15? My mod 1 cost around £450 and £550 the mod 2. Haven't do my test yet but the office of which I booked them told me if I fail the mod 1 is £250 to give it again, test only. They will lend me the motorcycle etc
I can't tell if that's an actual serious question haha, but when I was teaching myself for the A1 (long before this video) I'm pretty sure I got them from Sports Direct
@@iainwallington474 Great stuff! Self teaching is the way to go. Let me know if you need any help along the way. I believe in my q&s videos I touch up on this, and provide links on useful official DVLA documents to use
Chocolate 19 I recommend at least a couple hours min to get you up to speed, as everyone has habits they would have picked up on in that time that won’t be in your favour with DVSA examiners. Also even though you’ve been riding for years, there’s specific things, eg roundabout observation procedures to name a few, that you more than likely don’t do exactly as they want, that’ll cause you to fail. I pretty much have covered 99% of the stuff you need to know to pass in my playlist, so it’s up to you judge by watching if you already do most the things on there - and I’ve designed it to help people self-teach themselves without the need for instructors. Hope that helps, anything else let know
I've got few questions. Let's say that I fail doing slalom or figure of 8. Major. Will I be let to continue? Or do they terminate the test right then and there?
What you said about putting your foot down is so not true. Yes, you do instant fail for what you mentioned, but I was turning back around to do the Swerve Avoidance when my front slipt on the wet tarmac, causing me to put my foot down and fail.

Watched this last night, passed this morning some useful tips in this!
The best advice I had for the hazard avoidance was to countersteer. So if the blue cones are on the right, push the right handle forward.

@@Chris-xz2zx Great to hear that! Pleasure, safe riding out there
Don't you get 2 attempts at the emergency stop
Some car parks have cameras that read numberplate and can give you a large fine
Thanks for sharing this it's help me a lot 😊

I agree. I failed because I put my foot down at the end of the U turn. In real life I've never needed to do a U turn without putting my foot down!
To be fair I bet the majority of people just go straight back to using feet when u turning.
Great tips, our advice re rear brake. Don’t use it for the emergency stop, it will create more than enough breaking force.

@@oliveranthony7012 Yeah that's very strange. ABS on the emergency stop is like playing the game on easy mode! Beginners have it easy eh
When you go through the speed trap, what gear should you be in?
what can and can't you do once you get your provisional licence and complete CBT?

Didn't even use my rear break on my emergency stop
In NI the figure of 8 is tighter than on the mainland... daft really as we have more space to play with here.
I only recently found about this, some other guy from NI commented. You guys have it much harder!
The place where I train get to use the test centre at the weekend although it’s an extra £15.
Definitely worth it getting the real deal.
+ Mentally will make you better prepared as doing the actual test won't be too much different
4:57 you went the wrong side of the yellow cone no???
Got my mod 1 today and it’s pouring with rain 😢

Should i take lessons before taking mod 1 and 2..ive been riding for over 5 years on cbt

They'll let you finish the test. You find out the result at the end
@@Victor-vf1fi Thanks. I actually learned that the hard way today. Mod 2 though. Fuckin roundabouts...
@@fiucik1 haha roundabouts are evil af
What company did you train with?
Northern Ireland the corner slalom and figure of 8 all significantly tighter.
Yeah I've heard that! It's a best strange though how NI is not consistent with the rest of the UK.
Does NI have significantly narrower roads or what 😂
I have a question: Can I use my moped sym fiddle 2 125 for the test? I've been trying to find out an answer but got no luck.
