Failed my Mod 2 a month ago due to going 24 mph on a 30 road that didn’t have signs. The fail was considered a major fault due to not progressing! Be careful, some examiners can be difficult like mine. Funny that we went on a road with NSL, so definitely I can ‘progress’. Having my re-test tomorrow morning. Goodluck all
@@omarelnagar1155 ah good i got mine in two days re test a lorry driver waved me through last time and the instructor said he was having a right fit so i got failed for obstruction! i hope this kind of thing doesn't happen again!..
Was gonna say definitely should stick around 30mph on 90% of main roads and busy areas there's not many times your in a 20mph zone. Congrats on passing bud 👍
Thanks for a useful video. I have my mod 2 coming up in a few weeks. Just one thing to note about speed limits, 20 zones are getting very common and these are always in areas with street lights and they don’t have repeaters. So it could catch you out if you miss the sign and fail to appreciate that the speed humps and cushions are actually indicating you’re in a 20 zone and not a 30.
Congrats... I’m going to live in the Uk again after nearly 2 decades and want to take the course... I already have a license here in Brazil... been riding a 650cc, will I have to start all over again on a 125cc or can I get full license straight away? I’m 33 by the way. Cheers
I had no choice in test centre, I'm from Preston Lancashire, I was given a test (Mod2) at Atherton Lancs (2011), it was absolutely p*ssing down on the day , happy to say I passed with no faults 😂 actually when I think about it, it was p*ssing down on my car test back in '86 🙄
You first need to do a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) it's around £100 for a few hours, and it's easy - it's a certificate NOT a licence. Allows you to ride anything up to a 125cc motorbike or scooter. Just google CBT in your area, and you'll find a center / training school. Hope that helps!
got to wait till november in wales to do my mod 1 mod 2 on 125 riding round hopefully wont pick up too many bad habits think i might be overdoing my headchecks video on this be good great video by the way
There's no harm in doing too many as long as it doesn't impact the rest of your riding / distract you, although as someone rightfully pointed out, I was looking backwards more than I was forwards 😂
I've been riding a 125 scooter for a couple of years now if I wanted to get say a 400 or more cc scooter would I still need to do my mod 1 and 2 on a geared motorbike?
No you don't have to - you can do it on automatic scooter, but of course it means you're limited to only automatic A2-category bikes. You'll join the elite rare club of automatic only A2 / A category licence holders! Works the same way as with cars when you take the test in an automatic , you're always restricted to that and can't drive a manual. PS you might find it hard pressed finding an instructor / school with an automatic A2 bike you can do the test on, so you'd prob have to use your own.
@@C9S1 thanks for the advice, I have to decide whether to get a geared 125 and get used to it or go for the automatic license, you're videos will be of great help Cheers
@@thomasosmond4067 No problem. I've had to put some videos on private recently due to some issues but I'm looking to get that resolved so most of them can be available again. In the mean time, here's my Mod 1 / 2 playlist link: ua-cam.com/play/PLhSEwQBZQJww7TNRadlJX7aSzy7SybmUY.html
Short answer: speeding: usually a major going to slow: usually a minor Explanation: So if I'm not mistaken.: going to slow you'll get minors under 'progress: appropriate speed'. Very rare you'd get a major for going to slow UNLESS it's dangerous, i.e doing 30mph on a National Speed Limit dual carriageway. Usually for speeding, you'd get a major under 'use of speed' (but don't worry about doing bang on the limit 1, 2 or even 3 over is fine) but with constant marginal speeding you may be lucky enough to get away with a minor.
Very good question, no one has asked this. From what I understand: 1. It doesn't matter if you get one or both questions wrong, you can only get ONE minor. You can't get two minors from the show me tell me section. So to avoid getting a minor, you have to get the two questions right. 2. It's impossible to fail on show me tell me ALONE. In reality, it's not important at all as you can get 10 minors in your test, but it does give a bad impression to the examiner from the start...which you really don't want imo
@@M.R1429 Bad weather for the Mod 2 shouldn't put you off that much. It's more of a problem in Mod 1, especially with the emergency stop and avoidance. Don't worry about it!
Yes, as is the cause of a high number of motorbike collisions. Someone thinks you are turning right, pulls out and it’s game over. It’s because our indicators don’t self cancel like a cars too.
It's a really useful video, but please don't push the point about lane markings being advisory (1.39), thus is a very dangerous theme to suggest to novice riders /drivers.. The rds are full of idiots thinking that everything is advisory, with no discipline at all, because when that audi (sorry audi owners) wipes you out on your bike, because he went straight ahead from a left marked lane, the fact that its lawfully advisory won't help the pain. Lane markings are there for a reason pretest and post test.
I completely get what you mean mate, in hindsight it's probably best to have left that out for this particular type of video for learners (not sure why I put that in).

Thanks mate, let me know how you get on
Good video brother.
I have measured 20.5 metres and that is definitely about 30 metres, judging by the amount of parking spaces.
Have you any advice on doing the mod 1 on an automatic (twist and go) 125 scooter? (eg there is no clutch control).
Nice one. Thanks mate.
Very informative
do u have to do an A1 if its basically like a CBT and just go from cbt to a2?
you can go straight to A2 as long as you are 19+

Not canceling an signal is a major and fail. Are you sure?
Don't even get a major for that in a car driving test.
Yep. If you pass another junction or side road with your signal still on, it's an instant fail.
