You had rust down the spark plug threads, I'm thinking the last guy had the coil packs out and the plugs loose and left it apart in the rain for a couple years. Probably just slapped it back together to sell.

@@chugaaaI read in the manual that if you tow these and don’t crimp the water inlet hose then it will fill the engine with water. I’m wondering if they towed it to a dock or somthing and it filled with water and then sat or they flipped it and it hydrolocked and let it sit from that. The guy said these were his daughters skis🤷

First time watching, very nice job. I was shocked when you hit 2oo psi on all three cylinders. Normally piston ring manufacturers specify to use a tool to expand and position on piston so you appear to have gotten away with one. What did you use to clean rings and piston ring grooves? Other thing is permatex and others make engine assembly lube. I would use alot of it on cam lobes, connecting rods and crankshaft bearing journals especially. On dry start you can do alot of damage before oil film develops between wear surfaces. You can't use too much assembly lube in my experience.

The 4 stroke one was sunk definitely sucked water inside and they just couldn’t get it out because they never took the spark plugs out and then turned it over they probably fried or just thought the starter was fried and I would definitely fix it that happens a lot and unfortunately some people just let them sit afterwards and it’s an easy fix if done properly and asap but taking it apart that was definitely what it needed cleaning and new fluids and head gasket and it’s probably gonna run good but the other one I hope is not 4stroke bc if it’s hit something hard they will bend internals more often than 2stroke engines just like the lawnmower engines with pushrods so when u hit a stump ur out a blade and a engine

Only just been recommended your channel, fantastic workmanship, athough you've got plenty of work still to do!
One thing missing - and I know you call yourself cheap from some other comments and I like to fix everything I can myself as well - but how many hours have you spent and how much in parts to get to this stage. Or maybe let us know at the end of part 2 - assuming you get it working and back in the water - of which I have no doubt given what I've seen so far!
Reason I'm asking is at what cost does all this amount to against maybe buying a 2nd hand working Jetski, or maybe refurbished parts elsewhere - and I know its difficult to quantitify your own labour, plus you'll get hopefully a low hours, known quantity jetski at the end (assuming you don't sell it that is).

Would you reckon the engine bearings are more likely to fail when you wash them in the parts washer like that with diesel I'm assuming. If all the liquid finds it's way into all those sealed bearings

Saved that one just in time, nice score with such low hrs on it.dam shame people just give no thought to storage and prep to long storage.just ride them hard and put up wet.and too make it worse loose or no spark plugs to boot.you got to this just in time, should be a nice ride or flip.would love to be able to rebuild like you done but i would loose bolts, forget were they go would just be parts scattered n never back together.your an ace in my book!!!snooky pa.by the way ive got a 94 gxr and need bumper trim, mines cracked every 4inches,got any wanna part with.???❤😂😂😂😂😂😮😮

OMG you re used the shell bearings
You use a gun to tighten the smaller bolts
You re used the rings !
You used. Normal grease instead of marine !
You used a screw driver and contraption to knock out the seal !
All normal stuff for viewers and saving money !!
Fair play love the video !

Even though it's expensive to replace them I bet they don't come loose during normal wear. Most professional machine shops don't reuse crank, rod or head bolts. You hate to loose a freshly rebuilt motor over cost of bolts.

I got a ton of projects that I’m trying to finish videos on but it’s taking longer than expected for example I sent the excavator gear off to make a new one and it’s been over two months and they still aren’t done with it😖 but I’m trying my best so hopefully it won’t be to long before another vid🙂
