A loader and a tine grab is a great job for breaking up and grabbing in bales. We don’t use net on our bales anymore. The white film is a brilliant job. Good video
Cant understand why they’r sold with just 3 spikes instead of 4, great handy piece of kit though, totally agree with the lock off, came close to it smashing a back window, keep up the good videos👍🏻
Bit late to the party but what we used to do was just use a bale handler. You take the rollers off and spike the bale then you jiggle it about and move the spikes from side to side and the bale comes apart easy as. Pretty easy to distribute it down a feeding passage that way with only having a bit to move to each side with a fork.
Brendo it actually suits a closed shed even better, silage falls perfect to both sides of the feeding passage way, keep tuned as there’ll be a video on all that soon
had one for 4 years, very good for feeding smaller lots of sheep, where a whole bale is too much. usually cutting a bale in two or three across the way, and then picking up with the balegrab. give a rub with a flapper disc on your grinder now and again.
Thanks for the video. We have one on our dairy here in Wisconsin. How do you sharpen yours. Ours is in need of sharpening and I'd appreciate knowing a good way to do it. Thanks.
Great video, we changed to barrell wrap instead of net for our bales, makes life easier and I also think the silage is better far less damage/waste. Smashing heifers by the way
Gerard Mccarthy I put the knife down and push it straight back with it with no problems, that splitter would work in any setup, can be mounted on a front loader to split the bale into a diet feeder
I fully agree that the yellow safety guard should be removed. Even though mine wasn't hitting the tractor, it served no purpose and was more trouble than it was worth. If I bought a new splitter again, I'd remove the guard before it ever cut a bale... However, it would probably have taken you less time to undo the two nuts and take it off than it it took you to cut it. It's a very simple procedure. More importantly, the two grease nipples down there that you refereed to are not for greasing the guard. They are for greasing the main pin, and should get grease regularly!
Mike Smythe yes it’s always greased, whenever I go to part with it I will take of the two hinges and weld all back together quite easily. I’ll be an old man before that happens though 😉
Kevin 6920 I will do, it’s just that every is packed in tight for the winter I would be hard to show it properly so I’ll do it in the spring/summer time
Wen I saw u out with the knife I was wondering wats he at. But I forgot it’s not the one takes off the plastic. My uncle has one that takes the plastic of great machine
Danny Quinlan will work fine with twine, stand the bale upright, take of the twine and then flip it over and split it, we’ve handle twine 2 years with it.
Nice channel lad, you said you use this in a feed passage as well, hows that work out for ya. I use a 4'6" shear grab, it's handy but fair dangerous when ya have hungry weanlings rooting the heads out through the barriers when feeding. That's a grand tidy case ya got.
I use the same shed grab and i know very well what you mean about the dangers, there's no danger with the splitter as it will be splitting the bale in the centre of the passage way away from the cows heads. there will be a video on that in a few weeks anyhow so keep tuned for that
LordSting ya just have to be carefully, I’ve never had it happen, you can split the bale fare enough out from the barrier so they can’t reach the blade and then just oust it back when it’s split
Where did you get the electronic changeover valve and how much was it? Our tractor for the diet feeder is a spool valve short and our dealer quoted us nearly £1500 to fit another one but didn’t want to do it due to the hassle it would be or cause. Nightmare swapping pipes.
Can I just ask.... I noticed afew years ago when we were in Ireland for a wedding, that people don't stack their wrapped bales up they leave them single lined? Why don't you stack them up?
@@IFarmWeFarm thank you for the reply . Will you talk about the bull you used and there calls there strengths and weaknesses . And % are Male or female this year .
Alli can say is anything that takes the draggin and pulling out of the job makes ya a happier and longer lasting farmer.....have had bulging fekn disks.... a hernia done and get the odd snap of sciatica now again due to doggin the shite out a myself as a young farmer and manager!!! Money well spent is that and money saved in doctor bills for pain killers and specialists scans!!! Regards the safety bit... a bit of down pipe the length a the blade with a 1" cut all down one side and a few bungi cords will keep it safe when not in use!! Cattle are shining today....looks like the ration is doing its thing with plenty a well made fodder!
Maurice Cahill ya back problems are no joke, lifting bag of fertiliser from the ground to sower is what done mine when I was very young. It’s ok if I look after but always gets sore this time of year
If shes not blue she'll not do I bought it like that, the worn tyre is on it from new and the previous owner must of had a burst and replaced the one. I’ll probably put a new tyre on it this year if I decide to keep it.
I was watching this, the cow on the end, i noticed has a perfect heart shape on her forehead! Pretty awesome!
Im loving these videos and I love the wee case, looks like a good wee tractor! Keep the videos coming!

liam hennessy yes works fine with twine just unwind it like the net

Great video Adrian I push the silage in to the cow's with bale of straw on the flat no springing 👍👍👍

The way you did your work with de bale be careful you dont put on weight lol great spot for the hand knife super stuff your doing top class videos bro
Thats a right job you done with the spool valves
Great handy implement saves a lot of hard work tearing bale apart in the shed
Its suits an open shed but not a closed one(feeding both sides) got a 4foot grab I use it for silage dung straw a mighty tool
Brendo it actually suits a closed shed even better, silage falls perfect to both sides of the feeding passage way, keep tuned as there’ll be a video on all that soon
Nice looking tractor, bale cutter does a good job. Way to many safety people now days might cry if they break a fingernail lol.
Nice looking heifer.
We had two of these splitters,we also took of the safety bar as it was always rattling and nearly brook the window

That’s about all they’re good for, totally pointless with bigger cattle numbers as they’ll eat a full bale and it will last longer undisturbed.
Thanks for the video. We have one on our dairy here in Wisconsin. How do you sharpen yours. Ours is in need of sharpening and I'd appreciate knowing a good way to do it. Thanks.
anything thats a labour saving device is welcome :) great vids
Saw one of these going over College St in Cavan today and thanks to you I knew what it was.
Them splits are handy enough I say? Great vid as usual👍

Hi just started watching your videos they are very interesting and a good watch. Keep the videos coming 👍👍
Looks good sorry haven't been able to watch the construction videos yet but I will soon
Great channel keep up the great work cheers Antony 👍
I feed only bales and am looking at one of them great to see it working
From Bailieboro but sadly living in Kansas- found ur video couple weeks ago- great stuff
The new shed look really good mate
Feeding silage do you inoculate against botulism
wow bale spliter very handy
Going to do a short on sharpening that?
Splitter looks like a great job you would need right setup for it though, how will you push the bales in after?
Gerard Mccarthy I put the knife down and push it straight back with it with no problems, that splitter would work in any setup, can be mounted on a front loader to split the bale into a diet feeder
You should try a hay roller
Great content Adrian👍
Where do ye put your wrap and net when after feeding
Great video once again Adrian

Hi just come across your videos, what's the white strips white mark on wrapped bales? Good video
?
What an easy cut. Worth the price to save the back.
🐄🐄😷👍
Can you do a video showing all your machines
Kevin 6920 I will do, it’s just that every is packed in tight for the winter I would be hard to show it properly so I’ll do it in the spring/summer time
Ok thanks👍🏻
I'm concerned that u may split cows head open, seemed very close when the end came down, other than that I'm impressed!
I love the videos with the case IH
Good video cool to see it working
good tool had one and helped a lot 👍
Wen I saw u out with the knife I was wondering wats he at. But I forgot it’s not the one takes off the plastic. My uncle has one that takes the plastic of great machine
Lovely video hope ya make more of your machinery
Paul O'grady will do, i’ll review them as there being used over the year, thanks for watching Paul 👍
@@IFarmWeFarm lovely love the videos
Can you do a machinery video
I've been using one for the last 8 years without a hydraulic top link No bother whatsoever...they're a very handy tool to have wouldn't be without it.
We were think if buying one and weren’t sure now we are very convinced so do u Clarke’s have them in from granard
Definatly would this time of year, there worth the investment
Good job bail splitting alot easier to feed cattle better than grape. Nice clean tractor going well. Did you do it up 👍
Would u not put more cattle into the shed
Jack Gillanders we will be probably in the next few days
Would thes be any good on twine? we do all our own silage and our baler is fairly old and uses twine and it looks like it might be a bit awkward?
Danny Quinlan will work fine with twine, stand the bale upright, take of the twine and then flip it over and split it, we’ve handle twine 2 years with it.

Have you ever been on an American Dairy? It’s has always amazed me how differently things are done in Europe. Not bad just different
Yes i totally agree, American farms tend to be a totally different scale to here. We can only dream 😊
G'day great video mate.
I like it but if you’re on your own like yaself what if the cows get in the way of the blade and you can’t see them to stop it
LordSting ya just have to be carefully, I’ve never had it happen, you can split the bale fare enough out from the barrier so they can’t reach the blade and then just oust it back when it’s split
Ahh ok cheers
Lovely little tractor
How does it mount to front loader

Mikey Sky I think it was around €350-€400 for that unit, got it in John Conaty Tractors Kells Co.Meath. There a great job 👍
Can the blue barrels be bought anywhere locally as I need a few for our mens shed.
aoifeone if you try local co opps or factories you might get them for free
Thank you I will give them a try, might ask for a few on our FB page.
Great video hope your doing well👍👍😀
Nice clean wee tractor
Great video
Love the tractor
That's a rly Nice 895 i havent seen one of that yet 😁
I done a full review of that tractor, so check through the video’s 👍
@@IFarmWeFarm good Idea thanks for the ❤️
Very good job 👍
Would you not be better with a bale unroller
Cormac Delaney no the splitter is way hander for my setup, them unrollers are a good job though
Great channel
Very tidy case 895
Thanks for the video
how do you dispose of the bale wrap?
Greg J there are plastic collections a few times a year in local spots the we bring it to
Have a look at blaney forager x10 bale unroller on UA-cam great bit of kit great video content as always keep up the good work
Great video just found your channel I’ve Ive hit the sub button
AB Crofter Thank you 😊
This is a grand channel
Can I just ask.... I noticed afew years ago when we were in Ireland for a wedding, that people don't stack their wrapped bales up they leave them single lined? Why don't you stack them up?
Rufey Rog that’s only a regional way of stacking bales in most areas they will be 3 high if a farmer doesn’t have a loader they might not stack them
Oh right just seemed like every farm we passed they were all single layered.
Claetus Woodroofe that’s correct, if I had a loader a would stack them also
Why don’t you leave the case there if that’s all you use it for in the winter
Shea because there’s a good chance it wouldn’t be there very long, times have changed unfortunately and all gets locked up every night.
@@IFarmWeFarm nothing is safe anymore unfortunately and farms are mainly targeted
It is Ireland we’re in lad 😡😡😤
A L we were hit b4 so we learnt the hard way
Lovely job.
Great job
Can you get the knife sharpened
How many bales are in that group
Aideen O'Shaughnessy 197 in that bunch
Beatifoul tractor!!
Do you have milkcows or beef?
Erik Norén All Dairy 🥛
Ok how many do you have
Why don't u get a front loader
Nevan Phelan I will do soon hopefully but I’m managing quit well the way I am at the minute. But I know it will be handy
Where abouts in Cavan do you live
Good video
Maybe that bale splitter is better suited to a front loader, if you get euro brackets you could put it on your front loader.
what way is calfing going ' what bull do you run with or is it Ai you use keep videos coming . when will you start slurry spreading ,
Calving season is going great, 80% heifer calfs so fare with no issue yet touch wood, we can't put out slurry here until mid February unfortunately

10x handier when mounted on a loader
Very uneven wear on the front tyres on the case 895? One tyre get cut? HSA would have something to say about the safety bar 🤣

brilliant
