I have to tell you! I made the brats and pasta video you did yesterday, I think it was, for dinner tonight. My grown son was in the kitchen making his plate when he sees the pasta in a bowl mixed with butter and parsley. He looked up and said 'Ms Gina gave you this recipe didn't she!' lol
I tried making boiled potatoes this way and they turned out pretty awesome. It was super simple and using ingredients you already have in the pantry. I'm always looking for ways to improve and revitalize meals and never thought to do this with potatoes. Thank you!

I made your recipe last night and everyone went nuts over it!.. Delicious doesn't describe it enough! Even the little grands loved it. Thank you for the recipe and I can't wait to make this for my family. I don't eat beef or pork, but I follow your recipes to the T and have my family scratching their heads at how I can cook these recipes and not eat them! You are my personal chef! Also, thank you for including side dishes because pairing side can be difficult at times!
If you don't have or don't want to use Kitchen Bouquet or soy sauce or anything to color your gravy, you can take the time to brown your flour and oil mixture until it turns dark in color. It takes a while of stirring with a whisk...several minutes, but it does the same job that Kitchen Bouquet/soy sauce would do. Also, soy sauce can make your gravy very salty so you would need to keep that in mind when you are seasoning your meat if you know you're going to use soy sauce. I don't bother with either one on most occasions (especially if my grandmother is around because she is from the old school and she doesn't play that using short cuts...LOL). I do what Gina said and use Kitchen Bouquet unless I am out of it and have to spend the extra time browning the flour and oil. Thanks Gina for the recipe. Pork steak smothered in gravy will be on the menu for Sunday dinner.

Being from south Louisiana, where most of our middle names are “ROUX” I just keep cooking the flour and oil, roux, until it gets as dark as I need. But I understand using Kitchen Bouquet because I think cooking the roux to the color you need may change the flavor. Whichever, it will be great. Gina Young style is hard to beat. My My that looks so good!

I braised my pork (only so I could complete errands and chores) I haven’t had good old fashioned boiled potatoes in a long time, I had to keep telling myself not to mix them with the butter and seasonings just let everything melt in; they were perfect! Gina, I never make pork steaks but I think I just might try. I only buy pork I always think of pork steaks as being tough. I like the way you cook I am much older than you and found myself finishing your sentences. When I was younger my mother used to make white potatoes and she would add flour or cornstarch, not sureto make a gravy but she would fit refer to this as a thickening. These were just white potatoes that were cut into chunks and boiled what seasoning added and the thickening and butter of course. They were absolutely delicious. I never see anyone making this dish anymore. And I was surprised that I didn't see you using any celery seeds in your vegetables. I use them now in everything, greens, fresh green beans, tossed salads etc. But I think that You are a great cook, I can feel your passion. Stay safe and keep praying.
Gravy looks good but when i make gravy i brown my flour to that dark color before adding my water.try it comes out perfect everytime. I also use less oil.

Actually, pork steak is more tender, and more flavorful than chops...and don't dry out!

Me too! I brown it on low heat until it’s the color I want. It takes a few more minutes but 🤷🏾♀️
