Really enjoyed this video . Great work and I recently used this method on my last build Trumpeters 1/35 T-62 BDD 1984 . I used Tamiya XF paints starting with Hull Red then like yourself sealing with gloss or Klear floor polish in my case an AK worn effects fluid and used 3 different shades of green . I have to say I was very pleased with the result and having watched your work it is impressive. I'm going to try this method on my next build the Israeli M51 Super Sherman . Thanks so much for posting your work and I look forward to the next one.
Many thanks, I used the lacquer thinner as it was tougher than normal thinner and dried quick, plus I have had it for ages without using it. Its sometimes difficult to post stuff your not too sure of, but going forward I want to share more of these efforts even if they go wrong ie chipping #2. There will be one more in the series were I will weather the kit. Glad you like my approach. Thanks for support.
Hi mate just a wee tip about the AK worn effects I want to pass on that I've now experienced with 4 bottles now! Keep it in the fridge honestly I know it sounds weird bit I've had 4 bottle go off on me now and my new 4th was used 3 times and sat for a couple months but with the heat through summer and the heat of the heating in house in winter there it's cooked them! They stink! Full of like cobwebs strings in bottles and the paint now cracks when layed over the top of them that's the first sign that there going off before the smell comes! You might experience this yourself be great to know if you do! The worn effects are my favourite to use I'm gutted I've got off bottles they have to be some sort of glycerin or something food based! The new bottle is doing fine in in the fridge after opening its lasted 3 weeks now since was opened that's longer than the last one so just keep an eye out for this! As soon as it gets abit thicker when going off you'll know because the paint on tip has like end shell cracking coming through when dries!
Cool, not heard that before. I may try decanting hair spray next time. I should be posting the final video on the Tiger soon, just got to finished off the weathering etc. thanks for watching and the comment I’ll re check my bottle. 🙂
Amazing skill. I have a Tiger still to build and will use this as a reference but it’ll never be as good as yours. Great inspiration in this video, thanks for sharing..🙏👌🏻
Cheers, always appreciate you lookin in. Bit more weathering to do but looks, weathered already. Don’t think I have enough modelling hours to do 3 layers of painting and chipping again.
Cheers it depends, generally around 15-20psi. If its fine work I’ll go a bit lower. Its more to do with the feel of the paint really. I still have bad paint days too. Help?
Hi me too. Was trying to move away from pre shading as an experiment and really distress the paint work. The 3 colours gives you contrast and not a uniform finish. I haven’t started weathering it yet, so should improve further. Take a look at my panzer IV, it gets nice results probably quicker.🙂
@@ctscalemodellinguk awesome thank you for the quik reply and education. I've only gotten back in to this hobby after 30 years or so. So I'm always trying/wanting to learn new stuff! Awesome work! Thank you again.

My favorite are tigers. Very nice job. Especially the chipping. Cheers
@@gruppenfuhrer45 thanks for watching, wasn’t sure how it would turn out at the time, but was pleased.

Hi, I just share what works for me, although chipping isn’t my favourite tbh. Just enjoy, please ask if u need any help.👍
Another great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
No worries, was a bit of an experiment.
honstly when you tore the tape off when painting the turret the peeled paint made it look cooler
Cheers for watching the video. I had a lot of doubts when chipping this build.
Great results
Wow! Excellent work!
Awesome work mate, really shows how a great paint and weathering work can make a kit look awesome!
Cheers, always appreciate you lookin in. Bit more weathering to do but looks, weathered already. Don’t think I have enough modelling hours to do 3 layers of painting and chipping again.
@@ctscalemodellinguk ya man that kind of weathering is just too time intensive to be at it all the time, just inst enough hours in the day lol
Excellent work on the paint job looks great like the colour variations and of course the worn and chipping effects
Cheers was really unsure about it mid week, don’t feel I’m a fan of chipping fluid though.🙂
Excellent work. Also, it looks so realistic. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers for watching and continuing support, much appreciated 🙂
Looks great as always!
Awesome work!
Cheers for watching
Fantastig work greetings from Switzerland😊
Thank you for watching, I hope my approach helps. Chris🇬🇧
Amazing
Cheers glad u liked it
Looks good
Cheers, hope you enjoy the video, bit of an experiment.
I like very much 👌🏼
Cool thanks, hope you enjoy my efforts.👍👍👍
I have see you can use hairspray instead of chipping fluid does it work the same as its a lot cheaper and quiker???
Think it depends on the brand and making sure the paint is thin, usually making it need a couple of paint chip coats. Tresemme works well.
Once again man great stuff bud👍🍺 may I ask what psi do you run your compressor at?
Cheers it depends, generally around 15-20psi. If its fine work I’ll go a bit lower. Its more to do with the feel of the paint really. I still have bad paint days too. Help?
5:43....I pi$$ed myself when I heard that music over that mishap...lol...still great model though....Thanks for the vids
Cheers, still really pleased with the result
👍
Thank you
Can you alter your hull hatches? They are facing backwards.
It got sorted a while ago, cheers
Please can you tell me what paint air brush you use?
Hi generally I use Tamiya as I like the way it handles. I do use Vallejo too. Hope this helps.
Why the one coat, chipping, then the o th er coat of different colors? I've never seen this before? Still learning

can someone make simple paint..but still look military ?..too many process i cant catch up...too many colour also..hope someone will do that video😢
Thanks for watching, I probably have other videos of German WW2 with less processes, although I tend to always use an airbrush. 👍
